I'm kinda mad right now because I live in new Orleans. Look new Orleans isn't that bad of a city, you just have to be careful where you go and stay outta everyones business and don't get involved in gangs. I'm 13 years old and I take public transportation to my house every day after school and so far I've only seen 1 bad thing and it was a drug addicted man that was going really crazy. But anyways it isn't that bad it's a really beautiful place and it has recovered a lot since Katrina. I think more people should come visit new Orleans before it becomes an underwater city since we're below sea levels. But anyways it's a very lovely place but you should just be careful where you go. Please like this comment so the Creator of the video can see it, it would be very appreciated:). And thank you for taking your time to read this.
Detroit is a little different. Their city is horrible. You don’t have to go far from Detroit down town to see horrible areas of Detroit. You don’t even have to go a mile out of the city to see these kinds of areas. Detroit at one point had it’s cops tell people that Detroit is unsafe for visitors. The police force had gone down to 2,000 nearly 40% of cops lost their jobs. Granted that was around 2012 but Detroit is still and unsafe place to be.
I just left detroit. Detroits roads have gotten so bad u can literally hit one wrong crater in the road & destroy a car beyond repair. The AVERAGE vehicle in detroit takes about $1600 annually in tyre, rim, suspension damage. Anything transportation related suffers & even getting food into the city is a struggle. PPL in detroit have a NASTY attitude (very destructive) towards outsiders coming in who appears well off. So INVESTORS dont cry when someone burns down your house u picked up in detroit for $500 ;-)

The "Northshore" area which is across the Causeway bridge (the "southshore" consists of New Orleans, Arabi, Jefferson Parish which has Metairie, Gentilly and other cities). The Northshore is considered "St Tammany" parish... The residents (law abiding ones) are flocking out of the Southshore and moving across the bride (Lake Ponchatrain) to the Northshore to escape the horrid crime rate. Somee of the biggest cities in the Northshore area are: Covington, Mandeville, Abita Springs, Madisonville and Slidell. Slidell being the least desirable but still better than New Orleans... The other cities on the Northshore are calling Slidell "the NEW New Orleans East" ~ which is not a good thing. New Orleans East has a horrible reputation in Louisiana.... I hope that this helps a little.

It's pretty sad. After going on a street view trip around Camden, the neighbourhoods actually look pretty cool and the area has a distinctive architectural style. It feels like it would have been a really nice place to live if it weren't for the violence, drugs, decay, gangs etc. So much potential for a nice community.
When I was about to graduate from my master program in China, I got two full-ride offers: One in USA and another in Japan. I have heard many things about American dream, but I also took into consideration that USA is too far, so I decided to take the Japanese one (much to the dismay of my relatives and friends). Long story short, I was on a business trip in 3 different states in USA (California, Tennessee, and North Carolina) and witnessed that USA is not what people used to think it was.....homeless everywhere, every night you can hear gunshot, and poor ghetto neighborhood everywhere. Glad I decided to stay in Asia lol
@@muhamadq1744 Not anymore. Huge investments in the city. People who are being priced out of New York are snapping up real estate in Newark. Tons of new developments, Whole Foods, Prudential Performing Arts Center, revitalized downtown, three universities, new parks, fantastic transportation including one of the country's biggest airports with an airline hub are but a few reasons. Nearby Paterson is still a dump though.
Camden is undergoing a renaissance. It's going to be yuppy heaven in 10 years. But the worst city is Gary, Indiana. Complete dump with zero prospects of being revitalized.
Actually, it is rather shocking that Oakland is on this list at all, and anyone who has actually BEEN there in the last few years would know that. It isn't the same old 1980s, even 1990s Oakland of old. Houses in the LOWER income districts (West Oakland) are now going for $800,000, and apartments in the same low income area are priced at $1000/bedroom. Literally. With Google and Facebook so close by, and Uber headquarters actually moving to Oakland, the city has really become a bit of a gentrification mecca with tons of young, hip techies. Actually voted one of the top cities to visit a few years ago. If this guy is considering air quality (again questionable in Oak) and traffic, and especially gangs, then LA should definitely be on the list, as it is exponentially worse than Oakland in all 3 categories.

Anywhere in Puerto Rico. After hurricane Irma and Maria....The destruction of property, the homeless, those in abject poverty, the level of violent crime, the people fleeing the island with no remorse leaving behind to fend for themselves the elderly, the sick, pets, other animals like livestock and all their responsibilities like mortgages and other debts clearly make PR a war zone type or post atomic bomb site type place..... I have yet to see an organized effort to take care of those left needy of the basics that afford life and wellbeing. I am one of them. Food and water for people and pets lay wasting rotting and becoming moldy idly in warehouses not open to the public as people wrestle with basic needs to continue living.

Indian old generation people should watch this... They used to think like america is 100% good, americans are rich people, there is no dirt on roadsides, everywhere so clean, all houses are modern and good looking and they used to blame only india. But the truth is, every country has dark side. No country is 100% safe. Corruption, crimes etc are common everywhere. Of course america is beautiful country, but some areas can be very dangerous. Not all americans are rich. In India so many poor and middle class people live peacefully even in poverty. But being poor in america is hell.. In Indian slums people will welcome you happily, crimes may happen, but it's common everywhere. But American slums are very dangerous, some people will have guns, they may shoot you as well.. I saw a video about that in Carolina Goswamy's channel... She explained that...

There are no "worst cities in ____ (fill in the blank)" every city and even small town America has its poverty districts regardless of its racial and ethnic makeup. My grandfather grew up in what was labeled at that time as the "Irish Ghettos of San Francisco" the Mission district where the poor working Irish Catholic lived; the gangs he fought on the streets were Norwegian, Swedes, Italians and Poles. The ails of urban life hasn't changed, only opportunity. Now the average home in that area is $1.2 million dollars and the crime rate hasn't changed in a century and a half. London has the same problems. Its all in the perspective. Sensationalize any city and you will see only what you want to see.
Untrepid One I have. And they are no different than every other large city around the world. It just depends on your paycheck as to what part of your city you have to live in and experience.
Sorry @h baker, but it is more of a degree than the total absence of crime that makes all 12 good candidates to avoid. A good friend and co-worker was appointed the chief of police of Oakland. He resigned for a variety of reasons but mostly because the city government didn't want to take the necessary steps to clean up the problems.
h baker I live in San Francisco. But people make fun of my accent and my moms accent since we are from New York. My accent come from my mom since she was born in New York.
Just think of the PTSD you'd get from being a kid in these cities. I'm from Reno and I have been to half of these cities, and Reno is not even close, so I wonder about the wisdom of this video. Portland and Eugene Oregon are way worse than Reno.
Since the man doing the voiceover has a distinctly British accent, I'd assume that the video is just based on the numbers and not any personal experiences.

But after I grew up I moved to the suburbs and all I heard on the news is "Crime in NY! Crime in NY! Crime NY!" At first, I thought, gosh it's gotten so bad in NYC. But then I realized... the only thing that changed was my perspective. Because you don't think about it but they're reporting on a city with a population of over 2.5 MILLION people inside of 10 square miles... so you're going to have a few problems.
+sarah s It really depends on what part of a city you live in. For example NYC is a dangerous city to live in especially if you live in the South Bronx, Harlem , Manhattan's lower East side or the Bowlery or Parts of Queens. I lived in Jersey City in the Heights which was the best area of the city to live in untill downtown was revitalized as new money came in young urban professionals who saw the location as a desired place to live due to its being minutes from lower Manhattan

TakiMaster 656 St. Louis has a murder rate almost double of Chicago's. If St. Louis was the size of Chicago, they would have almost 2,000 murders a year. That is why St. Loius has lost half of its population in the last 35 years. Most areas of Chicago you have to be very well off to live in. A very small area of Chicago is crime ridden compared to its overall size. Have of St. Louis is ghetto now. That is increadible! Detroit is just as bad. Hell someone was hit by a stray bullet inside Busch stadium just last week. A law firm in downtown is moving out because its workers do not feel safe coming to work. Not good.

So INVESTORS dont cry when someone burns down your house u picked up in detroit for $500 ;-)
I'm from Shreveport trying to get out because all the crime whats a good suburb in New Orleans to move me and my wife to I have bookoo family their but they from 7-8 ward
Mimi B yea I've heard about the east I'm just trying to get out of Shreveport crime is ridiculous shootings everyday about nothing thanks for the info

I agree. One of those slums was either Mexico or a south American city. Not the states.
Yet people are stupid enough to share them on social media.
Yeah, that's definitely a ghetto from Brasil or maybe even Argentina. Welcome to the internet.

It's pretty sad. After going on a street view trip around Camden, the neighbourhoods actually look pretty cool and the area has a distinctive architectural style. It feels like it would have been a really nice place to live if it weren't for the violence, drugs, decay, gangs etc. So much potential for a nice community.
@Henry Horner what are you trying to say ?
America has been improving
When I was about to graduate from my master program in China, I got two full-ride offers: One in USA and another in Japan. I have heard many things about American dream, but I also took into consideration that USA is too far, so I decided to take the Japanese one (much to the dismay of my relatives and friends). Long story short, I was on a business trip in 3 different states in USA (California, Tennessee, and North Carolina) and witnessed that USA is not what people used to think it was.....homeless everywhere, every night you can hear gunshot, and poor ghetto neighborhood everywhere. Glad I decided to stay in Asia lol
Yeah or if the homeless aren't everywhere it's because of the anti-homeless designs many towns have, including mine.
Crooked Democrats, taking fed.money, and NOT helping clean up the cities. Plus, welfare for everybody. Why work ? Pathetic. .

If
this guy is considering air quality (again questionable in Oak) and traffic, and especially gangs, then LA should definitely be on the list, as it is exponentially worse than Oakland in all 3 categories.

Every city has a little bit of poverty. These cities are just a lot more impoverished

I have.
He resigned for a variety of reasons but mostly because the city government didn't want to take the necessary steps to clean up the problems.

its funny because you hear about these cities being scary or poor or whatever and then when you actually spend some time there its not bad at all

It's like watching the news about NYC from the surrounding suburbs... I lived in NYC while growing up. And, yes, it can be a bit dodgy. But.. you use a little common sense and you're fine.
I lived in Jersey City in the Heights which was the best area of the city to live in untill downtown was revitalized as new money came in young urban professionals who saw the location as a desired place to live due to its being minutes from lower Manhattan
lol I wonder how long you spent in these cities? Or ever went walking at night? doubtful! I went to a yankee game once in the Bronx! Yes the Bronx where there are horror movies based off of it! I had some dirty perv grab my butt when we were walking past this huge crowd, I was scared, thought I lost my iphone for a moment! anyway it's scary just like in the news!

Not good.
If you add East St. Louis to the statistical area it's even worse. A drive down I-70 into downtown is very picturesque. Don't get off the highway
City of Los Angeles should be included.
Cali should and likely will fracture in the next few years, it is so different when you travel an hour in the state it is like being in a different country.
I'm born and raised in Cleveland and I've lived in the nice suburbs and in the low income areas where it wasn't so good but overall what I can say is think Cleveland is a good place to grow up or have to live in 💯💚
what is the common denominator in all the city's. There's your sign! Simple solution think about that next time you Vote!
Giving them my money will solve their problems??? Free money didn't make where I live nice. The people that live here did.
worse place to live, east St Louis, IL.check it out
James Meier The most scariest place I've been too. I lived in St Louis and only drive through it to get to Indiana.
Ahhh, you have seen the darkness,in more ways than one.but yeah those are the places I used to hang out, sauget, granite City, East St Louis, Centerville
Yea, missourian here. You don't go to East St. Louis unless you are looking to get stabbed or looking to dump a body.
North St. Louis is actually statically far more dangerous than East St. Louis. East St. Louis has a totally inept political system but North St. Louis is somewhere you don't wanna be.
tootype2crazy Yes, you may have a point. North St. Louis is a Fucking shit hole. Drug dealers on every corner, gangs running around acting like they own the place. Trash in the streets making the place look like a dump. Damn pigs.
Clearly a corruption issue...not solely a Republican or Democratic issue. If you believe otherwise, you are part of the problem. Stop with this he said she said blame game.
I definitely hear you, and am a libertarian myself. But if you can show me 1 Republican district with democratic major city district crime levels and poverty I'll personally send you a $50 money order.
@@cliffordhoward5103 really?
Beezy thank you dear.
Thanks for the warnings! They did not make my list!!
This shit makes the Bronx look homey 😂

The Bronx sort clean now. Harlem ain't clean yet. since the 90's all the criminals migrated to new Jersey

Oakland and Modesto aren't that bad....Stockton, however...
13cbrennan I was joking. I know Oakland and Modesto are not safe places to live. I've spent quite a lot of time there. Also I'm not really appreciating the whole bashing on NFL protestors and liberals. It's not necessary to your point.
Oakland is full of Liberal pieces of shit and Modesto is full of retarded tweakers
I used to live in Concord so I know Oakland Modesto and Stockton very well
Zach Radocaj As mentioned above, I was joking. I know that they are unsafe places. It was a joke about how bad Stockton is.
I'm in Modesto and I get your joke. Stockton recently just shot at one our busses full of high school freshman football boys. So darn sad 😳. No one was hurt, thank God. But, I'm not able to get myself to let my boys go there for sports anymore.
2020: you wouldnt want to live in the us
Ehh i like it here
Were I live it's paradise
Its very obvious what the main problem is in all of these areas.
Gang activity and bums
yes it's poverty
Poverty killed me once when I was a kid.. I got better...
the problem with us same with my country...to tolerate with forefinger worker..they will steal your jobs
Adorecream 1976 you’re the definition of RACIST and lol white areas safe? Sure, crackhead. Stop writing nonsense and go kiss your sister
Back of the Yards in Chicago
Chicago Street TV
Chicago Street TV Chicago isn't that bad mostly good but yeah high murder numbers
Chicago Street TV 1
MeAgainstTheWorld Chicago has a population of 2.7 million so it's more likely to happen.
I lived in Maywood once upon a time, and that deserves a spot on here lol...
I love how everyone talks bad about Florida....but umm California not looking sooo good huh?

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!!
Don’t say that Shit!
Wow very enteresting video 👍 i like your video and with old countryside
Some of these cities were once amazing places to live in like 60 years ago what the fuck happened?
democrats
Brent Borders both democrats and republicans let corporations take over the country
Joey The bear Detroit is nice asf
I would imagine the people seen wandering around in the video are the cause of WTF happened.
Manufacturing economy shipped out to Asia
what about flint?
PigSos flint is close to Detroit
I was going to say my old home town of Pontiac. When I was a kid it was a beautiful city with low crime, Now it is a mini Detroit.
It's a shithole. What more do you want to know?
Cameron Clark still a different city
PigSos when I saw Detroit was #2 I thought for sure Flint would be #1. I'm Eastside Detroit..
What no Baltimore?
bdub714 Should be way up on the list with a murder just about every day.
bdub714 Baltimore is the worst city in America
Should be top 5. Probably top 3. I hate going through there. Its just an awful city
Y’all don’t want to live here in Chicago either. We have over 50 shootings per weekend .400-500 murdered per year . They go by per capita so it ranks us lower, even though the amount of murders is higher if you compare body numbers
Cleveland Ohio's slogan: we're not Detroit.
Lol ... Its close enough 😂
1A and 1B. Not much difference. Detroit does have a better downtown
Fort pierce is the sister town to my town Port Saint Lucie and fort pierce is rated the worst city in Florida while Port Saint Lucie is rated #1 in Florida. How does this happen? Idk.
Yoel Rekts ! unemployment is a huge factor in Ft. Pierce. that combined with a large Haitian illegal immigrant population who are extremely counter-culture drive up the negative numbers....crime, poverty etc. that place is a shithole last time I went. stay away.
Yoel Rekts ! Liberalism generally
Yoel Rekts ! Oh snap its 12 savage!
Oh snap I live in Vero so I know how bad Fort Pierce is!
Yoel Rekts ! But how I’ve been to port st.lucie and it’s actually not bad
Chicago should have made his list.
Another Democrat city.
+Hooptie Hamburger Heard of New York? You know, that democrat city?
Cruser Power
It wasn't that long ago when Giuliani was the mayor of it.
+Hooptie Hamburger Yeah he cleaned up NYC after Dinkins , Koch kept it running through it's fiscal issues
Some parts of Chicago are cool as hell.
How Flint didn’t make this list blows my mind. I used to live there, it is insanely crime ridden, polluted (thanks GM), and riddled with dilapidated building and homes. Had to get out. Very sad.
Forgot to mention, the water sucks too.
Yeah, they had major drinking water problems!
I'm Canadian and my City sent truck loads of
bottled water to Flint. Our brewery switched to water.
