Thanks for stopping by my channel. I post at least once a week. I like to get 2 a week sometimes that doesn't happen. I do lists about locations. I do both pro and con versions of each location. Enjoy

I live in Ardmore. He was pretty dang accurate. Except the 25k a year part. He must have been talking about upper management or something.
I like the "Type of town every girl dreams of moving out of" line.
You should add Dalton Georgia...
“U come for vacation, u leave on probation”
Come back on violation 😂😂😂😂 sounds like Lebanon Indiana the county seat of Boone County
That’s Weird.I Live In Boone County And That’s In Kentucky.
@@krystal9467 maybe they were trying to keep it simple since they already knew how to spell it 😂😂😂👍
I hear ya lol. I just recently moved away from Dunlap, TN. Which is only 70 miles from Dalton. I call it the "meth capital" of TN. The Chattanooga area just is not a good place, whether you live in the small towns that surrounds it or within the city limits.
Thats the State of Arizona unofficial state motto. I was assaulted by a road rage bimbo and I'm the one who got charged... Go figure. I wasnt a local
Small towns? These are all cities. Try growing up in a town with around 5,000 people and the surrounding towns having 1,000 or less. That is a small town.
Small towns? Any of those would be a real metropolis in Nevada. In fact, check out Metropolis Nevada.
Try living in a town with 300 and I'm not even in the actual town limits either. 5000 is a city.
Susan Still I grew up in a town with less than 2000 people
Yeah and then come to find out that the girl that you about ready to marry is your. First n second cousin..oh No ..OH BOY.. I mean uh oh
Susan Still ~ I was thinking that same thing. Most of these places aren't "small towns."
The Ardmore characterization
..."Don't grow yer hair long boy...".."future at the plant"..
"You'll be pullin" down $25 G's.."
BWWAAHAAAHAA!!!
🤠Bet they still play “Okie from Muskogee” Too !
I only watched this to feel better about living in Kokomo, IN only to find Kokomo, IN on the list. Lmao
(Edit: added state since a bunch asked)

I was born in Kokomo, lived in Peru..Moved to Norman,Ok back in 2015. Without Chrysler Kokomo would die a quick death.
The moment when you find out kokomo isn't just a song...and it's really a place you don't wanna go....lmao
If Kokomo made this list, how in God’s name did Muncie (my new city of residence bcuz of marriage) not make this list?!?!
Yup. Anderson is a real crap-hole, too!
A lot of rural America feels like a cult behind closed doors.

Those mormon towns out in rural Arizona, colorado, nevada, and new mexivo deffinatly are.

That would be inaccurate though, too much competition.
Genius Racking no, u don't put ur meth lab in town u put it in a pull behind camper so when the cops show up u can easily become a mobile meth lab pffft guess u have no experience in making meth 😛😂😂

Go to Galena, Missouri. We have a population of 451, and almost 237 people have been arrested for insight meth labs.
There's a town in Missouri called Potosi. Imagine a town full of people as smart as Forest Gump... Now imagine them all obese. Now add a little bit of body odor and dirty clothes. You just imagined Potosi Missouri.

Unauthorized use of another persons body is human trafficking. I live in Albuquerque and my dad works for a task force to rescue victims of human trafficking. He has to go all over the state and he said Gallup is the worst hell hole in New Mexico.
Unless you're there to see the train action on BNSF, stay out of Gallup. I think there are much better places to see trains on BNSF, especially Belen, Mountainair and Clovis. Gallup is ground zero for all things bad in New Mexico. If you're driving on the freeway, skip the shithead town and go somewhere else for a bite to eat or thereabouts. If you're riding on Amtrak's Southwest Chief from Chicago, don't make Gallup your stop; travel beyond New Mexico like Winslow or Flagstaff in Arizona.

It’s funny you think a person at Taco Bell will make 37,000 in a year.... try 12,000
I think what he's saying is not that someone who works at Taco Bell can pay cash for a $37,000 house, but that they make enough to afford a mortgage payment on a $37,000 house (which with zero down would be about $175/month).

None of those are small towns. Maybe small cities. I live in a town with a population of 650. 1500 or less, that's what I consider a small town. Also, small towns don't have Walmart's.......
Charlie Becker That’s what I was wondering about too. Pretty sure if it’s more than 10,000 people it’s a city, although a small one.
Anything less than 1k people is a village...a small town is roughly 1000-25k people
600 hundred people in my town in the winter and 5,000 in the summer. Land is worth huge money and we have mega taxes. 1 store, no gas station and it’s 13 miles to nearest town with gas. But I love it. No crime and great place to raise a family.
Niagara falls has under 50,000 people... We use to be a city, we are now a town.
they don't know what a small town is...come to Faubush Kentucky...no stores no post offices nothing...no jobs that's for sure..but we got two churches right next door to each other...probably less than 100 people ...ive been there 64 years
I spent four years attending college in the small town of Portsmouth, Ohio. It use to have a relatively prosperous textile industry, but has since fallen from grace. Luckily, I lived on the nicer side of town, and Shawnee State and the Market Street are pretty neat places. But the seedier areas are known to have drug problems, as well as the occasional report of bar violence and shootings. I’m glad that I finally graduated and returned to my hometown.
I loved your humorous narrative! I subbed. 👍👍 💓&✌
Not just informative but your style is awesome. Thank you!
I don't really consider 25,000 citizens a "small town" lol...I live in a town about an hour north of Kansas City, with less than 200 people. There are far larger towns surrounding us on all sides, with anywhere from 2,000 to 20,000 residents. We commute to KC for work everyday, but have the benefits of cheap housing, great teacher: student ratios, and exceedingly low crime statistics. We earn big city salaries, but don't have to pay big city prices to live quite nicely. I guess it's a matter of perspective, but your idea of a tiny town is vastly different from mine.
mel vaughn wow that's a small town
Can I ask what your town is?
Or at least the general area. Thanks.

About the kid in Indiana with AIDS. In 1981 AIDS was very new to the general public and no one at that time knew exactly how all you could get it. I remember in Elementary school, most parents told their kids not to use the public water fountains just in case. Many were worried it might be airborne contractible disease. It was some years later before they knew how all it could be passed.
The kid's name was Ryan White.
Yeah i remember that. People act like "how horrible you people were" but nobody knew. HIV was a death sentence, and you waited to die a particularly horrible death. There wasnt a pill cocktail that you could take, nobody who tested positive lived long. And it came out of nowhere, and just destroyed people. People forget how scary it was, so i cant fault-find someone back then being cautious.
In what reality is 70,000 people a "small town?"
You talked about Niagara Falls, New York but only showed the Canadian side. good job!

Shout out to my hometown gallup. I also watched this to see how these compared to Gallup, only to find out Gallup is number 1 wtf 😂😂
I went to Gallup a few years back for a week. There was a restaurant on the main drag near the old historical hotel that had the best enchiladas I ever had. Other than that though, whilst it was scenic, it was eye opening when it came to poverty and just life in general, especially on the reservation. But I can't say anything bad, I'm from northeast TN, where our biggest industry is meth
Historic culture in Gallup, NM. Medal of honor holder lives there and school was named for him. I stop in Gallup every chance I get. The old ones are happy to relive memories with you.
Hey I live in Grants.
I live in Scotland Connecticut and the country of Scotland literally gifted every one of our 1,694 residents a square foot of land in the country Scotland last month. We all got land grants, that’s pretty cool in my opinion

pop70,000 or less? Dude if your town has a Mall it's NOT a Small Town.
Jack Schwartz not exactly. Malls can be used to draw business from neighbouring towns or cities
There are a lot of county seats that are tiny, yet boast a mall which draws customers from all around.
Besides, not all malls are like Northpark or the Galleria in Dallas, TX.
Take Muskogee, OK for example. Small town, 38k, Arrowhead Mall. Or Dyersburg, TN. Very small town, 17k, has Dyersburg Mall.
When I think of small town I think of where I grew up...population 500..nearest bigger town is a college town and horrible on crime drugs and use to be rated #1 party college in Illinois and #2 in the nation.
If all the rapes were to be reported pretty sure it would be top rated per capita...
Jack Schwartz just because a little town has a mall don't has nothing to do with anything moron

I was working in Elkhart for 2yrs. Unless it got really bad in past 2 yrs there was now hiring signs in every gas station, dollar stores, hotels, restaurants,an factory jobs. They had more jobs then people. I worked there from my company in Michigan an worked in Indiana in weekends. Good list but gotta disagree with Elkhart.
Travis Thacker Not true, I moved to a way better 'small town' And it's like the promised land, jobs everywhere nice cheap houses, opportunity for even the stupidest ppl, ugly fat women marrying rich men, im just so sad I didn't get here sooner or I could've retired mid 30s, but I'll never tell where bc then everyone will come here and ruin it!
And people who can't afford the fines and court legal fees get put into jail to support the prison-industrial complex.
Dave for the Save You’ll find a job here in Elkhart but not much else. Housing is also dirt cheap. There’s a lot of crime and the schools are horrible, and by next year English will become a second language for the city
70,000 people is a huge city to me! I grew up in a town in rural Utah of around 2500 people. I'm a small town country girl through and through. I like to visit cities but wouldn't want to live in one.

My friends and I were sleeping under a bridge near the walmart in rocky mount and every morning we were there people randomly appeared with food and supplies they'd bought for us. People in Pine Bluff were also super generous. My friends said they didnt have to sleep on the streets there once because someone either bought them a hotel room or they could afford it from flying a sign. I was actually shocked they were in this.
That’s was so nice. Are things better for you, now?

@Eddie G Hey, that's Canada's weather; I think we're blessed and most Canadians don't mind the cold at all. No Earthquakes, No Tornado's, No Hurricane's, No Tsunami's; No draughts, No flooding. Just cold wind and snow, it's a great trade off. If you don't like the cool, theirs 49 other states to move to and I understand half of them rarely get any snow.

Wow!
You should've looked further than you did. Kokomo, IN is not dangerous at all to nearby towns (the whole Midwest gets tornadoes), not dreadful, and not horrible to stop in. Living closeby, people drive to Kokomo for their unique stores and restaurants. Same for Elkhart, IN. The people in Elkhart are so nice and the area is very pretty.
That is very true about Gallup! I know because I live in Albuquerque and know a lot of people from there!! Lol so yes that is very correct and sad!!

Nailed it about Gallup. I often overnight parked my semi-rig at the Wal-Mart or Lowe's right off I-40 there. I had a drunk Indian try to climb into my truck. Opened my door while I was still in the driver's seat! Another time I found 1 while doing my pre trip inspection sleeping between my trailer tires! Tight squeeze, but there he was! I tried to get him to move, he didn't respond, so I called the police. A couple times over at the truck stop there were young 5-10 year old Native girls knocking on truckers doors after dark selling pencils and other cheap trinkets. No adult in sight. I was mortified and heart broken. How can anyone put their babies at such risk? After the 2nd time, I stopped parking there. It just upset me so badly. I lost track of how many times I've seen drunk Indians stagger around on a Friday or Saturday night, often asking for money. Yes. It's bad there. So sad.

Wait a second. Are these Indians the Navajo? If memory serves me right, the Navajo are a VERY impoverished tribe! You should sincerely send a letter to Congress and the President of the United States about this problem and the feds must help the Navajo Nation!
@@seanycarr3226 How would the fed help? Give more money? I doubt they would give the Native tax cuts besides, Reservations are their own property. If they are impoverished they should take advantage of what they can do and start businesses. It doesn't have to be consinos.

Hilarious, your introduction of Gallup NM. LOL
You gotta look up Grants NM. It’s 60 miles east of gallup. It’s a pretty sad story. 4 or 5 prisons, former uranium boom town gone bust. Coal mine is not doing very well. Pretty sad. Former resident.

My mother and I stayed in Gallup for two weeks back in 1964 when Rt 66 was the main highway. We were visiting friends on the Fort Defiance reservation which is across the line in Arizona. The place was a dump back then... I noticed that recently (within the last 20 years) they have legalized drive-thru liquor stores... I'm surprised you didn't mention that...
I briefly lived in Anderson IN. While I never truly felt unsafe there, it was 100% a shithole and still hasn’t recovered from General Motors closing the town plant.
To be fair, when Kokomo schools expelled Ryan White, the AIDS issue was brand new and no one had any idea of whether or not it could be contracted through casual contact and there was still no treatment for it. You can't really fault parents for being scared. That said, pretty much everyone had a problem with how Ryan was treated.
I remember this. At the time AIDS was a death sentence and we thought it would be transmitted even by a toilet seat.
Excuses
There is a song of Led Zeppelin's that when I hear it, it makes me think of Ryan. "That's the way".
That was pretty good, I’ll definitely be staying well away from those towns 👍🏼

Soon to qualify for your top 10, Soon to be under 70k population! Detroit. :)
10:24 "Dranken" is not a word. But you have great narrative ability.
drank in the past 30 days. or got drunk in the past 30 days if you still don't get it.
I looked up notable people in Anderson, Indiana. I had heard of 2 people on the list. Gary Burton who played jazz vibraphone and author Fred Mustard Stewart.
i have been watching your videos for a few hours now. Found them very interesting. I want to point out Owenton Kentucky. Friendly little town, smack in the middle between Lousiville Lexington and Cincinnati. This is a problem. It puts Owenton on the edge of 3 districts, and makes it impossible to get things like internet and good cell phone coverage. Oh, and its a dry county. Lots of history here though. Best if you just look in to it yourself.
I live near Niagara Falls and laughed so hard when I saw it on the list. Do not leave any doors unlocked in Niagara Falls and stay away from most neighborhoods also very run down dirty and filled with junkies not to mention there is radiation from nuclear testing waste being dumped there yeah that's right nuclear radiation
I was surprised. I thought it was supposed to be a pretty town. Always wanted to go there, guess not. Thanks
Yeah, a few friends and I went to the casino there last spring. Live in Toronto, Canada and hadn't been to the town for 30 odd years, and holy sh1t, drive to the north or south areas from the casino and it looks like you're in an abandoned town. Boarded up store fronts and houses. Empty lots with weeds and grass growing wild. Went to a little bar on the north side of the street from the casino, and the regulars there were saying things like, "don't go up that street after dark, you'll get mugged"....
Stay away you might fall!
Indiana sucks in my experience of being there a few times.
I live in Indiana, very conservative, very judgemental. Lots of very nice people. But the economic plans here suck. State government keeps diverting tax money to rich private schools. Underfunding public schools. Cutting teacher pay, and passed Right to Work, busting unions and cutting workers pay. But I live close to Ohio and work in Cincinnati every day. Drive home to Indiana for cheaper home prices..lol
You should visit Beloit, WI, and once you see it, u should add it to the list
Your comment about waiting for better weather in Portland. I grew up in Seattle and we would tell visitors that the tan on my arms is not tan. It is rust.
I would like to submit Port Huron Michigan for consideration. I grew up there and happily moved over a decade ago. This town - then and now- is just a drug ridden hole of misery.
Our whole state is misery dude.
Outcast Trooper lol and yes
I took a field trip through there. Desolation in the air
They don't call it "Port Urine" for nothing...
Wow! I lived in Indiana my whole life...didn’t expect to have 3 mentions on this list!!!
Sorry to hear you died. My condolences.
How about Conway NC..
That town is like the land that time forgot.. I lived there for 5yrs taking care of my dad.. me & my 3 children.. so glad to get outta that place... 🤨
