Wow! I dont know much sbout pokemon cards and Im still a beginner collecter after all these years. I checked the prices of my ultra rares and to my surprise I found out that I owned a card worth around 100 dollars (lusamine trainer card ultra prism) that I pulled fairly recently. Wouldnt have found out without your vid, thanks a lot!
Wow, that's a really nice card! Indeed, I know it, that's a valuable one! You got super lucky, not an easy card to pull! I'm glad I could help though :D
I have 1st Edition cards of Slowpoke (It’s in a different language as Ramoloss), Ampharos, Meowth, and Rattata. I also have an Ancient Mew card if, that’s worth anything (But it’s worth mentioning). My promo cards are of Flareon, Glaceon, and Blastoise V. The only secret rare card I have at the moment is Flapple VMax 164/163.
Thanks for this video, man! I needed this so much, this is also a nice review. I love your videos :D oh and also, I got alot of stars >:0 I’m into collecting Pokemon GX, VMAX, and V, but I also like collecting shinies. They’re cool.
I talked about this when I mentioned secret rare cards In the video. Basically the second number is number of cards in the set, and the first number is YOUR specific cards number In the set. So in your case, there are 215 cards in the set (ultra prism is an example of a set), and your card is number 100. This has nothing to do with rarity, unless your card is a secret rare in which it might look like 217/215
When I was in primary school people were trading cards and we thought that any ex is worth another ex so I got a secret rare for giving a normal alakazam ex
Thank you for your video. I'm trying to collect cards for my grandson and with what I learned today makes things easier. I've run across more cards with stars, black, silver and gold. What's the significance of the star and diamond color. I'm hooked now I've got to go back and open up more tins and packs.
I found a trainer card I had back in 2017. It was one of those full art Lillie cards. It was in Japanese, and they’re selling for around 2500 dollars. My mind was blown, it’s crazy.
LOL! I know right! As much as I'm a fan of Lillie, there's NO WAY I could every justify keeping a card worth anywhere near $2,500! Let alone buying it, haha!
It's easy to find good cards at dollar trees. I won't tell the way because I'm not gonna ruin it for myself. But I always get really rare cards from every pack.
I remember the time My friends (boys) were playing outside our classroom and got into a real fight because my other classmate ripped My classmate's rarest card that made them go tot he principal and get detention
Wish I knew when I was a kid that I had rare/valuable cards before I treated them like shit. Now I have a bunch would-be expensive cards that are bent up
Dude- Pokémon used to be INSANE when I was in 2nd grade.. people on the bus you’d dig in their bags pulling out one HUMONGUS card that would be bigger than a backpack-
LOL! I remember those good ol' days! When I was in grade 2 diamond and pearl was the current set, so I remember kids flexing with their binders full of Lvl. X cards!
My wife, 3 boys and I are getting into Pokémon TCG. Super fun to play and it's nice to be able to teach my kids about how to take care of their things at the same time.
That's so nice to hear! I'm jealous! My brother and I used to be very into Pokemon cards, now it's just me, but never were my parents into it at all! To have the whole family collecting, that's certainly going to be some awesome memories for your boys! Pokemon cards can be great for learning, not only in protecting them, but cards also have value. And, very much like stocks, price fluctuates! Anyway, if you're just getting into collecting, the rarity system was recently changed, lol! Great explanation ive been collecting recently and have been wondering older cards that are a first edition have a first edition stamp in the left corner outside of the picture of the pokemon but can new full art cards / secret rares rainbow rares be seperated by 1st edition and reprints as well ?
Hey! Actually first edition was only part of the earliest sets made by Wizards of the Coast! So that's only sets from the 1990's and maybe early 2000s. There aren't any first edition full art cards and such, since those are very new!
Hey! Just saw this comment here too! So, what you’re looking at is the set number. The first number is the card’s specific number, and the second is the number of cards in the set. So, 172/172, would mean that your card is numbered 172 out of 172. It’s simply the last card in the set, the fact that the numbers are the same, or the number itself, doesn’t mean anything particular.
That’s awesome! You’re right, it can be a little overwhelming at first, but soon it’ll become very easy, don’t worry!! If you want to learn a little more (haha) Pokémon actually introduced a new rarity system recently. Those cards that you mentioned above would have been with the older rarity system (so this video here that you’re watching), but if you buy any of the newest cards, you’ll see some more! All the rarity symbols in this video are still used, so don’t worry all this info you learned is still relevant, but they’ve added a bunch on top of it! If you’re curious, check out this updated video I have here! You can skip to the section on special cards if you’d like just the new info, or watch it from the beginning for a bit of a refresher on what you already know!! How to Find if Your Pokémon Cards Are RARE or EXPENSIVE! ruclips.net/video/Z7MKIKPMu44/видео.html
I have a question. I have 2 of the same cards Charmander 18/147 one has a special print with flames on it, and around the picture is reverse holo, while the other one has only a holo picture??
Yes, so you’re exactly right, one is holographic and the other is a reverse holo. The reverse holo is not worth much, it’s just a standard common card. The holographic one though, is actually from the burning shadows premium collection box. That one is quite a bit more rare, though still nothing crazy. I would say about $10 or so
Well, this wasn't my first video per se, but I definitely tried a lot of things for the first time in this video! This video really set the bar! I'm really glad you enjoyed it though :D
is there a difference with the gold stars or silver stars? i also got a card that has 2 stars on it 🤔 this video was literally extremely helpful i learned actually a lot that i needed to! ❤🙏🔥🔥🔥
Do you recommend holding onto or selling duplicates of the same cards? Like if I have two Cacturne cards without the shiny effect on the whole card and one with the shiny effect on the card for example?
Helped a lot. I just buy packs to have something to open. Really don’t know anything about them. I collect spots cards but when there is nothing I buy packs of these and have just sleeved them all. Now I no what to look for. Thanks
No problem! I’m glad I could help! The rares, and especially the ultra rares, are definitely the ones you want to look out for, and pay special care to in keeping! They can be worth quite a bit!
i have 3 absols, 1 is a different design then the other 2 and has a star, the others have the same design and both a diamond, are both valid? i might have an older version.
Yes! They are simply different absol cards, but all are certainly real! The one with the star is obviously the most rare, as the star means rare, and the diamond means uncommon!
i think i have that florges card, too! thanks for the video, very simple and got straight to the point, very valuable information. i would just trade cards at school and now i want to see how rare are my cards

Hi. So I bought a trainer kitt box and it's the lycaneoc and Pikachu so when I check if my card had the black circle but as I saw it there were none so what does that mean.
If you got the cards from a trainer kit, then they have no rarity! All the cards in trainer kits are pre determined, so there’s no rarity associated with them
Ah! That just means that your card is from a theme deck! It doesn't have a rarity symbol because it wasn't pulled from a pack, and was just included in the deck.
Learned a lot. Thanks. I just bought 600 from yard sale. Some still wraped up. Some 2011 up to 2019. Have the little yellow pikachi 35/108 60 horsepower.
That's the promo number. So SM means it's a part of the sun and moon set, and the number afterwards is the number it was in that set. SM067, the 67th promo in the sun and moon set

Your lucky is it a rainbow rare???
@@thomasisthebestgod5427 of course it is not..if it was he would not have given it to him

What card is it and what set ?
Thanks for the video. I just found out I casually had a secret rare that I thought was just a holo and it's worth a good amount specially when graded. Thanks
Wow that’s awesome! I’m glad I could help! Which card is it?
@@Witkomon Dark Raichu 83/82
Nice! That’s a really cool card!
That’s awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
You forgot about the shining cards, that have 3 stars ..
So far, the best summary of rarities I found. Good job!
A little late here, but thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
How many of you guys saw the very first, and original video? Curious what your reaction was :)
Nice! Glad I could help :)
@@Witkomon hi nice video but i was wonder what is the for example 100/215 and the bottem does that stand for how many cards were printed
I talked about this when I mentioned secret rare cards In the video. Basically the second number is number of cards in the set, and the first number is YOUR specific cards number In the set. So in your case, there are 215 cards in the set (ultra prism is an example of a set), and your card is number 100. This has nothing to do with rarity, unless your card is a secret rare in which it might look like 217/215
@@Witkomon ok thanks
I just realised I have a secret rare
When I was in primary school people were trading cards and we thought that any ex is worth another ex so I got a secret rare for giving a normal alakazam ex
That's awesome 😂 Good for you!
Thank you for your video. I'm trying to collect cards for my grandson and with what I learned today makes things easier. I've run across more cards with stars, black, silver and gold. What's the significance of the star and diamond color. I'm hooked now I've got to go back and open up more tins and packs.
Thank you. I always wondered how you could identify the rarity of the cards and their values.
Glad I could help!
I found a trainer card I had back in 2017.
It was one of those full art Lillie cards. It was in Japanese, and they’re selling for around 2500 dollars. My mind was blown, it’s crazy.

It's easy to find good cards at dollar trees. I won't tell the way because I'm not gonna ruin it for myself. But I always get really rare cards from every pack.

There’s no circle, diamond, or star on McDonald’s Pokémon cards

It's a McDonalds promo, one of the few exceptions.

X cards!
I have a Shiny Solgaleo GX but promo. Does it worth a lot?
I made an updated video on that actually, maybe this will help:

Great explanation ive been collecting recently and have been wondering older cards that are a first edition have a first edition stamp in the left corner outside of the picture of the pokemon but can new full art cards / secret rares rainbow rares be seperated by 1st edition and reprints as well ?
Hey! Actually first edition was only part of the earliest sets made by Wizards of the Coast! So that's only sets from the 1990's and maybe early 2000s. There aren't any first edition full art cards and such, since those are very new!
Thank you for telling me how to see the rarities of the cards so now I know I have 2 promo cards👍🏻
No problem! I'm glad I could help :D
Would if the number at the bottom match like 172/172 with a star or the 1st number is less like TG24/TG30 with a star???
@@Witkomon okay cool it’s a lot to learn but I’m learning quickly

I would say about $10 or so
hey what does a black star at the bottom mean?I have cards ex,mega cards with silver as well but also black stars.

Do you recommend holding onto or selling duplicates of the same cards? Like if I have two Cacturne cards without the shiny effect on the whole card and one with the shiny effect on the card for example?
Hmm well it's up to you! Typically duplicates are nice to trade, or even sell, because you'll still have another copy afterwards!

What does it mean if the Pokémon card has a white star or white circle or white diamond
Star = Rare, circle = common, and diamond = uncommon
What dose the plus means in Pokémon and the x mean for damage
Thanks for this! Very good and clear explanation!

dude thanks you so much for all of this help now i can know any card value tysm!

This helped me alot but one question how worth is a Electrode 2016 #40
If I’m looking at the correct card, that’s electrode 40/108 right? It’s just a regular rare, so not worth too much unfortunately. I would say about $5

i have 3 absols, 1 is a different design then the other 2 and has a star, the others have the same design and both a diamond, are both valid? i might have an older version.
Yes! They are simply different absol cards, but all are certainly real! The one with the star is obviously the most rare, as the star means rare, and the diamond means uncommon!
I have a 2014 Mega charizard Y card that is one number above the set amount. How much would that be worth?

(Sorry my English is bad)
No problem! I'm glad I could help! And, as for your English, it's perfect! You type just like anybody else, I can't tell any difference at all! Literally zero mistakes!
Hi. So I bought a trainer kitt box and it's the lycaneoc and Pikachu so when I check if my card had the black circle but as I saw it there were none so what does that mean.
If you got the cards from a trainer kit, then they have no rarity! All the cards in trainer kits are pre determined, so there’s no rarity associated with them
Very informative video, thank you!
No problem! I'm glad you found it helpful :)
4 cards of my collection doesn't have a star or yk in the bottom, it has only a raichu symbol. What does it mean?
Ah! That just means that your card is from a theme deck! It doesn't have a rarity symbol because it wasn't pulled from a pack, and was just included in the deck.
@@Witkomon Ah, thanks
