    When I was little i cried all the the time when watching these movies. I didn't think people in theses movies were nice to animals. But these movies bring back memories when families were actual families. I miss my family. Even my dogs too.

    I have rescued corgis for 35 years and have owned a corgi, sometimes two at a time, sine 1979. The mother was a jerk and the family very inappropriate for a corgi but glad the grandad was the one to keep Candy. Well trained little corgi and looks very much likes those today, 60 years later.

    I LIVE IN AN PSW ASSISTED LIVING BUILDING AND EVEN THOUGH WE ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE PETS, I'VE HAD THE HARDEST TIME WITH THEM. ALL MY CATS 🐈 GOT OUT MY PATIO DOOR. I'VE OWNED 2 DOGS. THEY WERE HUGE AND I'M IN A WHEELCHAIR SO TRYING TO WALK THEM WAS MORE THAN DIFFICULT.
    THE FIRST ONE WAS THE MOST POWERFUL STUBBORN PUPPY 🐶 I'VE EVER SEEN BEFORE AND SINCE.
    THE SECOND ONE WAS 2 YEARS OLD AND I WAS FAIRLY ABLE TO CONTROL HIM ON THE HANDLE ON MY WHEELCHAIR. BUT HE TOO WAS VERY STRONG AND ONE DAY HE DID SOMETHING HE HAD NEVER DONE BEFORE... HE JUMPED UP AND TRIED HIS BEST TO BITE A MAN WHO WAS ONLY OPENING THE DOOR TO GO INTO THE BUILDING!!!
    THERE WAS NO MISTAKING IT FOR ROUGH PLAY. HE BORE HIS TEETH, LUNGED AND SNARLED!!!!
    THERE WAS NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT HE WOULD DO THAT. 😮😢😢😢😢😢
    I HAD TO GET RID OF MY DOG 🐕 😪 😩.
    WATCHING THIS MOVIE HAS SHOWN ME THAT I WOULD DO WELL WITH A SMALLER DOG 🐕...BUT NOT TOO SMALL. 😊😊😊❤😂❤❤❤

    Poor puppies. Who would put a young puppy in a dark cellar and then hit him with a broom when she was the one who left the door open so the puppy could get into trouble. Dogs are too good for humans.

    The original novel has a lot of changes. For one thing, he's a mixed breed, not a corgi. For another thing, after the horse woman's accident, he got taken to the pound, then was adopted by a captain. Unfortunately, the guy got injured accidentally wandering in the middle of a shootout between two robbers and som cops, and Candy got a bad hind leg. The rest of the book is pretty much similar to the movie, especially when he has that last staredown with the broom before actually daring to jump over it.

    Where in the world did you find these old Disney Sunday night programs? I have been looking for them for decades. These are awesome as I remember them from the 60's.
    Disney doesn't air them that I can find. This is awesome.
    One in particular is a program about a young Puerto Rican boy and his exploring El Morro. I think there was a horse involved. I've been looking for it forever.
    It's like being 9 or 10 years old again.

    OK -- ole skool 'dog training'...[5:20] first night housed in the cellar plus bedding in an old crate w/an alarm clock to simulate mom/siblings' heart-beats🙄. When pup 'graduated' to the space by the stove [6:29], was exposed to much more temptation in the form of mom walking with food on plates/tray😒 plus the laundry door left ajar meant neat stuff to chew on😋. When he was discovered😲 [9:28], the scolding began🤬. Then, feeling a need to further discipline the pup, mom brings out - dun, dun, dun - [9:48] THE BROOM💩! [Coincidentally, strongly AGREE with the Narrator's statements regarding the psychological effects!!👍] And uses it to push him back into his 'space', then uses it as a barrier/wall💣 [10:51] to keep him 'in his place' - forgetting about him OVERNIGHT💔!! WOW...Am so glad, We, m-o-s-t of us humans, have learned to adjust our thinking❤‍🩹 regarding dog behavior & changed our perspective on 'training' making these 'techniques' OBSOLETE!! 🙉🙈🙊
    Pardon my rant💫 -- am off the soap-box now! 'nuf said, ALOHA 4 now...😉😎

      Wouldn't call them thugs. To be fair, they were just defending their territory. All farm dogs do that. However, in the novel this movie was based on, most of the reason they chased him was because he was a stray, and therefore they saw him as an outsider who didn't belong, and so hated, resented, and disliked him, and so felt justified in chasing him to near exhaustion. Lucky he ran under that horse cart.

    There has been a saying that "a dog is a man's best friend", but is this true ? Though this little dog named Candy was affectionate towards several people, he was only an animal that could serve as some sort of companion. However, a "companion" (or "complement", his "helper") that was designed for the "man" is his wife, as seen at Genesis 2:18-24 in the Bible, becoming "one flesh".
    At Isaiah 41, of a faithful man named Abraham (lived 2018-1843 B.C.E.), it tells us who his (and our) "best friend" was, saying: "But you, O Israel, are my servant, you, O Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham my friend".(Isa 41:8)
    And who is speaking of Abraham as his friend ? Verse 13 states: "For I, Jehovah (see Isa 12:2, KJV) your God, am grasping your right hand, the One saying to you, ‘Do not be afraid. I will help you.’ So, when a person makes Jehovah their "best friend" by obedience to him, this can eventually develop this into, of him not being being just our "best friend", but becoming one of his "sons and daughters" and living forever in perfection on the future paradise earth as a "meek" one, where sickness, sorrow and death will be no more.(Ps 37:11, 29; Rev 21:3-5; see 2 Cor 6:17, 18)

      Context please !

    • @timhaley3459
      @timhaley3459 Год назад

      @@pmullins1495
      I did stay within the context, showing that a dog is just a domestic animal and not "man's best friend", and then showing who our genuine friend should be, Jehovah God. When Jesus was given an "example" of a woman who was married to seven brothers who each took her as his wife to bring forth children to keep alive their dead brother's name, but which none produced any children, they asked: "Consequently, in the resurrection, whose wife will she become ? For they all had her as a wife."(Luke 20:27-33)
      Jesus stayed within the "context", but gave an answer that they were not expecting. Instead of speaking about an earthly resurrection they were perhaps were waiting for, he took "a right turn" and explained about the heavenly resurrection, of which the Sadducees would not fathom, for they did not believe in spirit, the resurrection nor angels, despite saying they accepted the Mosaic Law.(Matt 22:23, 24; Acts 23:8)
      So, in my comment, I gave something that most never have considered nor knew about, just as Jesus did with his "words of wisdom", explaining truths that most are not aware of.

    • @timhaley3459
      @timhaley3459 Год назад

      @@123pickles
      A dog cannot give everlasting life on a paradise earth, for it a creation that dies as we also do, but "the One who made all the heaven and the earth and the sea and all things in them" can.(Acts 4:24) So, "when push comes to shove", who can "deliver" ?
      The answer is obvious, at least to a reasonable person, for Jeremiah 10 states: "But Jehovah is truly God. He is the living God and the eternal King. Because of his indignation the earth will quake, and no nations will endure his denunciation.......He is the Maker of the earth by his power, the One who established the productive land by his wisdom and who stretched out the heavens by his understanding."(Jer 10:10, 12)
      So, whose "bubble" is going to burst in the near future when Jehovah makes ' the earth quake ' at "the war of the great day of God the Almighty", called Armageddon (Rev 16:14, 16), the one wants a dog as their best friend or the one who wants Jehovah as their best friend ?

      @@123pickles
      You speak of what I said as "religion" and NOT as "the truth" as Jesus spoke of (see John 8:31. 32, 44; 18:37), for Jesus never used the Greek word threskia that is translated as "religion" by the King James Bible and as "form of worship " by the New World Translation at James 1:27, but rather Jesus used the Greek word althesia that means "truth".
      I diligently work at applying Proverbs 14:5, that says that "a faithful witness (or even Jehovah's Witness) will not lie", trying to imitate Jesus Christ as "the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith".(Heb 12:2) It seems that doing what he commanded at Matthew 24:14 and 28:19, 20 has NO real meaning to you.
      I used the movie concerning the dog, Candy, to assist others, if possible, to come to know Jehovah God.(See John 17:3) I am not sure if you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses or not, but your language is NOT one that truly identifies you as a loyal Witness.(see Ps 4:3)
      Jesus said it succinctly that in the very near future, that "the Son of man is to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will repay each one according to his behavior" at Armageddon.(Matt 16:27) I want my behavior, witnessing to all I meet, in person or online, to be as such that Jesus says with commendation: "Well done, good and faithful slave !"(Matt 25:23)
