Don't know about Anna Clyne (this is the first piece of hers that I've really paid attention to), but I do know that I like the String Orchestra of Brooklyn. This is the first time I've heard them play, but it sure won't be the last!
I disagree tbh, only like a few spots in the music where the orchestration faintly resembles Rautavaara. Rautavaara's harmonies are much more dissonant and his melodies move in completely wonderful and unexpected directions. Not saying that this isn't true about Anna Clyne, but i don't think that this piece has that strong of a resemblence to Rautavaara.
Everything I've heard from this composer I find so beautiful and satisfying.
Amazing piece - Well done Anna!
Echt super...

Nice music. It resembles Rautavaara ...a Finnish' composer

Like Arvo Part too.
The two words that come first to mind are 'dreadful' and 'sophomoric', with 'unlistenable' achieving conscious attention shortly thereafter.
