My sentiments EXACTLY!! The hair was all wrong for most of the characters on the show lol. Ashley/Gwen’s looks more 90’s here than it does on the show. They gave her a 2020’s curly hippy naturalista look on the show 😂. First thing my family pointed out…no mixed or black kid wore their hair in that style in 1995. It was either “fried dyed and laid to the side”, half up, half down, gelled down curls for a “wet n go” look, etc. lol we went on and on about that. Bangs were big, so Laia def could’ve used some bangs and not have gone with such a flat look. Their styling team needs a lot of help for the show! The 90’s are not hard to duplicate. Producers and the costume team could’ve put more effort into accuracy.

Tbh it came off like a Disney sitcom in the beginning. But then the characters developed some maturity by the end. Which made me really interested in seeing the next season. I'm betting the actors were pretty nervous in the beginning and by the end had found their character and their groove.
I really hope people give this show a chance, it’s not bad at all. There are so many naysayers already but it legit just came out. Of course it’s not going to be identical to That 70’s Show. The reboots never are.

I truly love the 70's show but this 90's show is just amazing and the songs ? they're Awesome too! The young characters were a little awkward first two episodes but they got better and more confident. Each have their own styles and that Callie's portrayal of Leia was superb. Awkward, beautiful, innocent yet funny like both her parents but also a little gruff at times like grandpa Foreman..lol. Love that most of the original characters are inn some episodes. Kitty, Red, Leo, Gwen and esp Ozzie...My faves so far! :D Thank you for this sitcom. I truly need to lmao again :D!!!
They really need more acting lessons. But maybe for some of them, this is their first big budget tv show and it's not easy for them to deliver it like professional actors like they do from that 70s show.

I grew up watching "That 70's Show", it's one of my top favorite shows of all time. Not only did I love the characters, humor, and storylines, but the vibe and atmosphere of Point Place. Seeing it brought into the 90s brought me to tears. I grew up in the 90s, and now seeing the show now set during it was a nostalgic trip! There are people who aren't giving the show a chance, and to each their own, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the og cast, and the new cast didn't do a bad job at all. It's not perfect, but few things are, and many sitcoms improve overtime. Even season 1 of That 70s Show arguably wasn't as good as later ones. (except for season 8) So I advise everyone involved to not get discouraged, and for viewers to keep an open mind. Just my two cents.
Not a bad show so far... people often want these shows for the nostalgia and then are so quick to slam them for the same reason... they quickly forget that the first few seasons of any show werent perfect and they only grew so attached over time and as characters evolved (Fez for example)

I'm going to give this show a chance just because I feel bad for the kids having to follow up on an iconic show. But so far, they just don't have the magic of the previous cast. And it's possible that the writing played a big role. The beauty of that 70s show was how non PC it was. It was just about unadulterated juvenile fun. I hope these kids find some success.

I’ll say what everyone else is feeling yet is too afraid to think - the demographics of the characters matter. There’s a reason Tyler Perry makes the movies he does - an audience finds a show’s characters more relatable if they look like them. So when they force a diverse cast, don’t be surprised if you find yourself less able to care about the characters for a reason you can’t quite put your finger on.

Cast is alright but it's clear in today's world, where everyone gets offended every day by some stupid joke, a show like That 70's Show can't exist. So this one might be okay, even good, but it's never gonna reach it's predecessors hight.
The cast is good but they just dont stand out like the original teens. They seem too innocent in comparison.
Masterson was NOT found guilty by THREE court juries after three years. ENOIUGH Already! The new 90's show NEEDS him Back! H was one of the funniest characters on the show--especially when teamed with Chong! The "new" kids are boring as hell...the 70's show was WAY funnier. They try and make this like a stupid Disney show--and we all know how STUPID Disney shows are NOW. Get the old writer's back...Focus on Red and Kitty';s kids and friends. Period. Otherwise this show won't be back.
The new cast is about as interesting as a piece of wood. The only good thing is seeing the legacy characters

Lots of awesome guest stars of color as well, including the legendary Tim Reid as Hyde’s dad, Raegen Gomez was on an episode as Hyde’s “interest”, Dwayne The Rock Johnson guest starred as his dad. So insane…these people in the comments are so upset by the existence of a character of color. It’s pretty sad.

But then get angry at the studio for "ruining your childhood"..?

Because you quit on something you love, because something new and shiny presented itself.
You build up a laziness and an ego to which end you now feel "too good" or "too lazy" or "too busy" to rewatch the show you claimed you loved and went to proverbial internet war for to defend it.
Because the new did not erase the old from existence, or memory.
You did that. All on your own.
So the person you should be angry with, is yourself.
Because you compared, rather than differentiate.
If you and I both draw Garfield the cat, they're not gonna look identical, nor look just like how the artist draws him.
But that doesn't mean either of us attacked Garfield or it's creator with the intention of ruining them.
We simply draw what we see, and every person perceives things differently. Every person understands things differently and thinks about things differently.
To expect two completely different projects by two completely different groups, set generations apart, to be the èxact same is just crazy talk.
Don't let the negativity cult online brainwash you. All they care about is spreading chaos for the purpose of clicks, aka money. It's why so many influencers are stinking rich. Because they sell chaos and hate, which apparently sells better these days than sex, go figure, right?

So support it. Who knows, we might even get lucky and they might increase the episode count to an old-school 20 episodes. That's what I miss. Tv shows that you can't finish in one evening, not even a full day is needed, just put it on when you get home from work and by the time you go to bed all 10 episodes are done. I don't like that for sitcoms.. sitcoms should always have 20 episodes, imo.
That's the one thing I'd change.

I’ll say what everyone else is feeling yet is too afraid to think - the demographics of the characters matter. There’s a reason Tyler Perry makes the movies he does - an audience finds a show’s characters more relatable if they look like them. So when they force a diverse cast, don’t be surprised if you find yourself less able to care about the characters for a reason you can’t quite put your finger on.

It's horrible. I could barely sit through the first episode. Edit out the new cast and watch only the scenes with the originals and it's actually good. But with this cast of kids...and the writers...we did not talk like they wrote.

It is a comedy and real life is never as good as comedy. We like watching comedies for escapism. We don't want real life.
