Thorough Video on 580K Maintenance...BUT...it's so much easier if you raised the loader, put the safety bar in place on the cylinder, and then raise the hood...
@@IndyFarmLife The back rear wheel has a poor design in the Phase I models. It wears the teeth or breaks the gear. Can't say that is your problem, but it acts just like you describe. Replaced it around 2006 with a stronger aftermarket version, no problems since. Just keep your speed down on roads.
Thanks for the info. It never sees the road and rarely goes more than 7 mph around our property. I may pick your brain more as I get into it. An aftermarket, better solution would be great!
HI, Great videos, I just bought today a 580K and I have some maintenance to do, so your videos have been very helpful. Did you do a video on putting in generic gauges? I saw in one of your videos you mentioned you were going to change them out, but I couldn’t find a video if you made one. Thanks for the excellent job
Nice! You will love that machine! Good attention to detail! Sadly, I have not gotten around to installing said gauges. I still need to. Although, now I think I am having some transmission issues. That fix will certainly take priority. Good luck with your machine. At some point I'll get those gauges (and a video) installed.
Did you ever make a video on the fuel filters because I’ve got a 580k also and replaced the fuel filters now it won’t turn on tried bleeding it but I don’t really know the bleed process and can’t get it to turn on anymore
Seems like Case 580s have a lot more problems than other brands in the same weight class. Transmission problems seem like the topic at the top of the list. The question I have is how does this transmission differ among the other brands? Who has the simplest most rugged transmission on the market? After seeing what is involved with a Case transmission, I would not buy a used one. Does anyone have any advice about Deere, CAT, Kubota, Hitachi, Massey Fergeson? Which one would you choose among old used machines in the $3000 to $6000 range that have transmission, engine and hydraulic pump problems?
question: I need to lift the engine on my Case 480E LL to replace motor mounts but lacking a clear lifting point due to the pivot axel. What do you recommend?
So... how do we fill the diesel fuel tank on this thing along with the Case 580E backhoes? I don't see a fuel tank cap on the exterior of the Super E or this Super K.
Simple and effective at a relaxing pace. Perfect video, thanks!

I don't disagree, but if I can get it done and minimize as much risk as I can, I'm going that route. I also greased everything on the front end.
A lot of work and money to keep that thing purring. Good job buddy.
Thanks Kyle! I think I actually may have found an issue this week. Could be much more work and money ha
@@IndyFarmLife I've had mine about 20 years. Give a shout on your problem
JJ, I haven't opened up the transaxle yet, but my suspicion is that I lost a tooth on the final drive. Any experience?

Not a toad! Like I told my wife: Toads jump 3in, frogs jump 3 feet. 😂
That's a good little tidbit to know!

I paint the zerk fittings with bright neon color so I can find mine.
^^^This guy is smarter than I! Good advice
0:45 I'd love how previous case backhoe K/L model crank sound
It sure is a nice sound!!
At 4:54 you just could lift the boom at max and put the safety lock. It would make it much easier. Just saying.

Are you planning on turning it into an extendedahoe and get more bucket's
I don't think I will go to the trouble of adding the extendahoe. I would love that, but a lot of work/cost. I do have a 24" and 12" bucket for it.

That engine sounds just like the Cummins in my wood chipper! SO you have hot weather now just like Florida?
It's a solid motor! Hot today/this coming week! Will hit 90! At the Indy 500 today! 😎
@@IndyFarmLife Nice and I am happy you have summer weather finally, time to hang out on your private beach!
Yes!! The beach is actually getting a face-lift this week too. More to come!
Do you pour the transmission fluid down the tube with the dip stick?
Yup!

Both the fuel tank cap and the hydraulic oil cap are located under a flip up panel just behind the steering wheel.
What size ellen wrench to take off transmission oil plug? (Drain plug)? Thank you, great video!! 😊
Step one: Rise loader frame and set the safety strut.
Cross thread it and go until you dent the oil can. Lmao
Haha. Who else can relate? 🤣
Any new bucket
I have 24" digging bucket and a 12" trenching bucket.
Hello gentleman, what transmission does that retro have
1.2 liter inline 4
can you please point the engine numbers? tq
