thanks a million! no one would test this projector outside till i found your video... really makes me wonder why test an outdoor projector if you don't test it outside... gonna get it!
Honestly? That was pretty damn cool. I haven't even thought about an outdoor battery powered setup on that scale before. And seeing a real setup was so much better than just looking at an Amazon page. I hope you & your family get to enjoy several fun movie nights outside this "winter"!
Lol. Rough winter here in Southern California. 🤣 It really is a surprisingly cool setup. I'm constantly amazed with the technological advancements that allow this happen. When I was younger, I even tried using a fresnel lens and cardboard box to turn my 19" TV into a projector. I had to turn the TV upside down and the picture was very soft. Good times!
I enjoyed the review on the outdoor wireless experience. Bringing the family and Christmas into it probably veers from the straight up tech review but therein lies the charm of this episode. I was glad to see the speakers featured, as I had seen a very short intro to them when looking at pro/PA equipment for corporate use. I always thought they could be converted to kick ass home theater, thanks again! You also described the down side of the projector as well as good reasons to maybe buy the unit. Like you implied, you were not attempting to win an Academy Award no price no object state of the art spree. I don't think you ever mentioned a target budget, but you showed what was possible and in reach of a lot of non movie mogul fans. We call those folks "family". Final note: "no replacement for displacement" reminds me of the famous Mickey Thompson's gem, "the only thing faster than cubic inches is rectangular dollars". Ain't it the truth?
I realize this video is about a year old. All good choices. I decided to go with the nebula capsule 3 that just came out. 1080p laser, about three hours of battery life. If I have a plug handy, like at home, we have the nebula cosmos 4K, which is much brighter. Really had a tough time with the speakers. I wish I would’ve seen this video first. Speakers we end up with are from Bose. Pro S1 Battery powered speakers. I was not able to Bluetooth them in stereo, so I ended up getting a Y patch cord and hard wired them to the projector.
Really great content I’m glad you’re here reviewing on RUclips. You keep it real and I appreciate that. Plus this was a genius way to tie the current world problems with the love for home theater.nobody’s out here doing it like you. Thank you !
That much audio power is overkill unless youre doing an outdoor event 😅 they make smaller sized ones. Kinda kills the whole portability aspect with the giant speakers.
My "budget" setup is epson 880, elite screen 120", and two bose revolve speakers. I just connect my phone(if no wifi) with a usb-c to hdmi wire or use a chromecast. Whole setup is just a bit more than one of those speakers 😅.
I want a screen like this. Doubt i need alr clr but...... afraid the yard master qomt be as good as I'd like just want a screen I van move around if switch furniture etc... I don't need the rear like dual just front facing my epson 3800 looks good with no screen already but I'm sure a screen can make it look better but will the yard master help ?😊
Very cool. I have an older BENQ HT1075 that’s been collecting dust. I think I’m gonna pickup the elite screen. Watch some baseball on summer nights. I’m obviously wired and have no issue with it. Do you have speaker recommendations? Portable PA? Computer speakers? Sub$400? Thanks.
Thank you for the review. I want an outdoor projector and my concern were the cables. My pool is about 16’ wide. Would I be able to put the projector that far from the screen?
Hey quick question, how did you connect the external speakers to the portable projector, sorry if that's dumb, just having a hard time figuring that out with this nebula solar portable. Thanks, and great info video
Did you actually get an OTG cable to work in terms of using 3.5mm for audio instead? I've had bad lip sync issues via bluetooth speakers, but had hoped that an OTG cable might work instead, but I'm not getting any audio that way at all.
Really great honest review. Much appreciated. I just bought the Solar portable and have a pair of W-King T9's that sound pretty good. Do you know if there's a way to get completely wireless battery powered 5.1 surround? I'd even be fine with just two front and two rear but with true channel separation for the surround effect. Thanks a lot.
Good review! Just a question: How Can I mirror my iPhone or Macbook or connect tem so I can use Netflix app or Can i use Bluetooth audio transmitter to connect two Airpods? Thank
Can you tell me if the 3 hour battery life is on full lumens or are the lumens reduced on battery? Example the ZTE Spro 2 is 200 Lumens on AC, but 50 or 100 Lumens on battery. Greatly appreciate it and nice setup!
Very cool review :D I have to say one thing: Thanks Joe N Tell because of you i bought and recieved today a pair of elac ub5 for 350€. Im testing them right now and had a slight heartattack... is it normal that the concentric driver makes a very slight gust of air while playing music ?
if someone knows pls feel free to let me know if it is normal with the concentric driver...... still kinda scared to play them louder than 30%.... And one thing if Joe N Tell reads this :D thanks for your time and can you try to get a pair of nubert 383 for testing? i think you might like them :)
@@joentell Ok, think i will try them a bit longer. If a problem worse then some air occurs i´ll return them asap and the warranty covers 2 years I think. Dont get me wrong the sound is fine and the clearity is better then anything i heard (still break in) :). Thank you and i appreciate the fast response :) Love your video´s.
You know, I haven't tried that, but I don't see why that wouldn't work. Also remember it has HDMI so you can plug in something like a Fire Stick if you had to.
I would love to know how to connect Bluetooth speaker to this so I can get connected to my sound system. It goes into Bluetooth mode to play sound and that's not what I want
Dear Joe i bought the Nebula Solar Portable after your review and the only deal breaker was if i couldn't attach the external speakers! Not the bluetooth speakes since that i knew i could. But the real external wired speakers. So when you said in your RUclips video that its possible to attach external speakers through USB-C port, i bought the Nebula Solar Portable. But it doesn't work and i am very disappointed that i used so much money and got the wrong information on your channel. I am hoping somehow you will prove me wrong though i doubt it. Kindly reply in full detail step by step how do i connect external wired (normal) speakers, Also, regarding Bluetooth speakers there is only provision of using only one BT speaker at a time in the setting if i connect the 2nd BT speaker the first Bluetooth speaker stops sending sound, however you connected two BT speakers in your video how? Other then this complaint i like your YT style and content. Thanks in advance. Take care
Great review joe i just have one question is it worth it to buy this Projector for 600 dollars is their any 600 dollars projector for home even if its not portable
Oh, and my Ecoxgear speakers play 4-6 hours at max volume, they are ridiculously loud, waterproof (yes take them tubing) , and cost $200. Those speakers look cheap and large for no reason, but cost $1.000? Are you kidding? Are they waterproof? With my LG projector, I connect to speakers via Bluetooth, two speakers play in stereo using one connection, and I get 200 more ANSI lumens, a better operating system, more apps... it literally is an LG TV app-wise. Yes, true 1080P native and honestly is just better.
