I had never heard of 4 Non Blondes but after about 6 notes, I recognized this song immediately. This song was played to death years ago and is still a fairly common choice on our local radio station which focuses on 70's, 80's and 90's music.
I only listen to radio when in the car doing local driving.
I agree that the lead vocalist has a great look.

I thought this was called "What's Going On!" I'm realizing I'm not very open to music outside my fav genres. This was good. I know it. 😮 edit: nice voice, Tazzz! It is fun for me to try those vocal steps, but I can't carry a tune. Doesn't stop me. Luckily I live in a building w firewalls an̈d you can't hear the neighbors, or vice/versa😅

Classic one-hit wonder. One of the most commercially successful singles in Germany. One of those songs that you couldn't escape when it was released and that you couldn't listen to anymore when the hype died down. I still have the song on a few compilations and I still skip it.
Linda Perry became a successful producer and songwriter for Pink and Christina Aguilera, among others.
The name supposedly goes back to an incident in which the band were treated disparagingly by a family whose members were blonde.
And to draw a connection to your fun fact, this 3 chord progression can become the longest of your life.

@@tazzznphilly The song was the summer hit of the year and was so successful that you could hear it everywhere and at any time. It was like having overeaten a meal so much that just looking at the dish afterwards made you sick.🤢😵

OK I thought it's been a long time since they played together while I've seen everybody else and their pets singing duets of What's Up with just Linda Perry, but I just stumbled over a video "Why 4 Non Blondes Broke Up - The band behind 'What's Up?' But that's not what I was searching for. I got this on my EZ LISTENING playlist for a long time but can't believe it's not on my VINTAGE VIDEO playlists, so I was trying to find somebody else's post of it that maybe I had on one of them instead. No luck. That's so weird because this still gave me chills after all these years. Thanks for sharing. Now I gotta search about 17 of my VINTAGE VIDEO playlists to make sure I don't already have it before I add it😃😆🤣🙃😂
Oh yeah, almost forgot but what else could anybody's favorite part be? Ending it softly with the same lines it begins with is grand on its own account but come on. When she cranks her voice up to that magnificent WAAAAAIIIL and keeps repeating the chorus to the bands soft counterpoint of a line from the first verse, their instruments still playing the same melancholy tune, intensified only ever so subtly, can't understand how she didn't love them.
