Thanks for sharing about this! These days a lot of people are also talking about Platform Engineering and how it's replacing DevOps. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and know more about what exactly is Platform Engineering
Sure, will do a video on that. Thanks for the suggestion
Thank you Abhishek... please make more content on SRE
Sure sure
Excellent information brother❤
Thanks 🙏
Hi bro, inspiring with your content pls do more n more videos on SRE
Thanks and sure
excellent said :)
Thanks
Thanks for information. But now days i am seeing most of the companies has eliminated DevOps positions and replaced them with name of role of SRE with similar job description...
This is not true .. may be someone has done it but I dont see it as a common thing
Is it due to that they do not understand the difference or some reason but yeah few companies are clear in terms of JD or role name. These days there r more sre roles when compared to devops.
Very informative bro
Thanks alot
Abhishek, I love your content. Just a sincere recommendation, I hope you are able to upgrade to maybe a USB condenser style microphone. You deserve to have good quality equipment with your work. Keep it coming!

Waiting for your SRE series as currently the interview calls are more for SRE positions than Devops..
Sure
I'm also from aws sre but there is no vacancys nearly 2 months onwards....I don't know still how many days this rescission will go on😢
@@nagendrababu.d apply for the openings in naukri... Interview calls are coming .. cracking them is the challenge...
Hi Abhishek, It would be really helpful if you can make video on how to understand functionality of your project as a sre/devops . things to know as a bigger picture
Informative video
Thanks Shubham
Big fan sir 🥰💯❤️
Thanks alot bhai
Thank you Abhishek for this detailed explanation for what it requires to be an SRE, I wanted to share my experience on the SRE role.
The role is also part of trouble shooting the issues & being On-call whenever there's an outage & be ready to spend long hours whenever there's a deployment or an outage. I have spent years on this role, just that it has evolved as an SRE role recently. Also, be ready to automate the alerts and events. Understanding of SLA's, SLO's, SLI's is a must for this role. Most of the experience for this role can only be gained On Job or when you get hands on. Pls understand it's a vast difference from the role of DevOps.
Thank you Abhishek, you been the best for helping the ppl to choose their careers in the IT world. 👏👏👏🙏
😍😍
Hey I have just started my career with SRE Role.. we do kind of same thing as you mentioned.. so would like to know about my growth in future with SRE skill.. will it help me to grow faster?
@@Rohit_12678 There's a definitely a future in SRE as there's shortage of SRE skilled & it is still evolving. As Availability and reliability matters a lot for companies to keep their production up and running, there's definitely going to be huge demand for SRE's. Faster growth depends on the hands-on experience in your current organization. Setting SLI's and automating alerts and reducing the Toil will help you grow fast.
@@kirank1662 thank you bro🙂
I am web developer of 10+ years of experience, what to do to switch in SRE role?
And Is SRE role is stressful?
Thanks
Welcome
Hello @Abhishek,
When can we expect a series on SRE 😅❤
As a SRE engineer who has come from DevOps background I can agree to most of your points. My key understanding of SRE responsibilities:-
1) Having System perspective in everything you try implement whether it is a new service, Infrastructure modernization and acting as policing agent for developers,DevOps teams to make them understand about our SLO, SLA and importance of SRE golden signal's. It makes all the teams more DevOpsy
2) Embracing risk to invent new features/services. So basically messing your production systems to make them more reliable. You should always have a risk appetite. Your monitoring, observability and APM principals apply here.
3) Toil reduction:- automate everything as much as possible of your SDLC
All of these things will enable organisations to be more DevOpsy and will in turn have positives on your DORA metrics.
Happy to discuss with you on how teams can enable enterprises to adopt Google's SRE culture.
Very well put Akshay .. Can you please reach out to me on LinkedIn to discuss further
sure! sent you a message
Sir, kindly cover sonarcube and nexus topic, i think it is not covered in your devops playlist.
sure
Informative content and thank you for sharing. How can we can connect with you. Please suggest
Topmate and LinkedIn
Thanks Annaya iam from SRE
Very nice
Both roles get annoyingly boring n monotonous at one point of time
Wahi toh chahiye😂
Hi Abhishek garu.. as a production Management and ITIL Manager professional, what would be path for SRE. ?
Bhaiya can you make a complete video on observability.
Sure
@Abishek bro ❤ God bless you 💝💝💝 I want to talk with you regarding my career goal of SRE
Will you ever cover ASR?
Great session bro.
I just want to review my resume from you . can you please help me where, I m lacking basically . can you please assist me and help me how can i mention my projects in a proper manner in the resume.
Reach me on LinkedIn or topmate
What is career path for SRE ?
Can system and db administrators become SRE?
Release Engineer and SRE both are kind of same or different completely??
Hi Abhishek
I also got selected for SRE role , but my current profile is core devops provide solutions and writing cicd pipelines...could you please tell me is it good to go for SRE , or if we can connect over LinkedIn
Hi Chandra .. That is not SRE .. SRE is completely different as I told you in the video.
Since you already got the opportunity, if you are willing to learn the new things that I mentioned you can choose
@@AbhishekVeeramalla
But as per job description cicd ,k8s and scripting automation mentioned along with monitoring tools. And job role they have given as SRE.
Have more doubts let me know if we can connect over LinkedIn
Please correct me... I hear that devops is most stressful job in realtime is that true? I wana start career as devops so please help me
Hi Bhargav, It mostly depends on job to job and company to company, we cannot generalize.
Sir some people on LinkedIn are saying devops will be gone by 2025/30 is their any chance if such situation
Devops will not go .. devops will stay in the name of platform engineering, operations and multiple .. don't fall into that trap
Hi Abhishek is it true SRE's will do UAT testing?
No
I have dilemma - my organization has changed my title from Systems Analyst to SRE, I didn't and still don't know what is SRE and I do not have any exposure to DevOps. When I go to market for new roles, people think me as SRE/DevOps that made even bigger problem to get job in my original qualification e.g. application support/infrastructure support. Now I am dying to learn DevOps and finding pretty hard to catch up with overwhelming contents. :(
Very sad to know. Please talk to your manager to understand if they are going to provide you any opportunities to learn SRE
@@AbhishekVeeramalla Nah no training, it was just for sake of restructuring I guess. Looking up to you guys for help and use this title for positive side that I can put myself as SRE if I can get guidance and learn some of the things.
Is devops engineer handles production issues ?
What kind of production issues
@@AbhishekVeeramalla like aks , app service, function app etc
who will go for SRE and who will for devops? like if one has good programming backgroung can prepare for SRE and one with less may stuck with devops- can I say that? Dose devops and sre both has almost same future aspect or one has brighter than another?
N.B-you are just a rockster for noobs like us.keep crashing like this.
Thanks alot ..
You are correct..
Coming to future .. yes SRE will also have very bright future
What to do about roles like SRE DevOps 🫥
I have been selected as an SRE having an 4 year experience in devops I don’t know what to do. I’ll be good at that or not. Am worried about it. ☹️😞. @Abhishek.Veeramalla sir …
You can extend your knowledge on SRE, congrats and all the best
