    Thank you Abhishek for this detailed explanation for what it requires to be an SRE, I wanted to share my experience on the SRE role.
    The role is also part of trouble shooting the issues & being On-call whenever there's an outage & be ready to spend long hours whenever there's a deployment or an outage. I have spent years on this role, just that it has evolved as an SRE role recently. Also, be ready to automate the alerts and events. Understanding of SLA's, SLO's, SLI's is a must for this role. Most of the experience for this role can only be gained On Job or when you get hands on. Pls understand it's a vast difference from the role of DevOps.
    Thank you Abhishek, you been the best for helping the ppl to choose their careers in the IT world. 👏👏👏🙏

    • @kirank1662
      @kirank1662 Год назад

      @@Rohit_12678 There's a definitely a future in SRE as there's shortage of SRE skilled & it is still evolving. As Availability and reliability matters a lot for companies to keep their production up and running, there's definitely going to be huge demand for SRE's. Faster growth depends on the hands-on experience in your current organization. Setting SLI's and automating alerts and reducing the Toil will help you grow fast.

    As a SRE engineer who has come from DevOps background I can agree to most of your points. My key understanding of SRE responsibilities:-
    1) Having System perspective in everything you try implement whether it is a new service, Infrastructure modernization and acting as policing agent for developers,DevOps teams to make them understand about our SLO, SLA and importance of SRE golden signal's. It makes all the teams more DevOpsy
    2) Embracing risk to invent new features/services. So basically messing your production systems to make them more reliable. You should always have a risk appetite. Your monitoring, observability and APM principals apply here.
    3) Toil reduction:- automate everything as much as possible of your SDLC
    All of these things will enable organisations to be more DevOpsy and will in turn have positives on your DORA metrics.
    Happy to discuss with you on how teams can enable enterprises to adopt Google's SRE culture.
