One of the things I appreciate about LotRO's graphics is that the landscapes are so "painterly." You'll come across a vista and think, "I wish I had that in a frame for my wall." I've played them all and LotRO is the only one that I've felt that way about.
I love this era of graphics. Just detailed enough but not cheap looking like a ps1 game. The same for the half life 1 engine. I wish we had this level of graphics today but with modern behind the scenes stuff like AI performance, cpu load and core usage. Imagine day of defeat HL1 but on Omaha beach with 200 players on a huge map.
They're literally that good the game could sell prints of the landscape or the maps and they would sell... I'd buy some lol The other big point that gets missed (and its not my playstyle but my wide loves it) is the housing SIMS players don't know what they are missing on lauralin:D
I've played many MMOs over the years and I can say confidently that lotro's world is by far the most immersive I've come across. Visual and sound design are top notch. Thanks, Louey. Great video as usual.
It’s a great video Louie, the key for lotro is the depth of detail as it pertains to middle earth. There’s no other game out there that comes close. It’s not a perfect game but it’s a very good game set in middle earth.
I am amazed to see how the quality of each video gets better and better. I really like these kind of videos on your channel! Would love to see more videos in that direction :D
This is a great review. I've been listening to "Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - Soundscape by Phil Dragash" and it made me want to reinstall the game. I dusted off my 2009 account, rolled a new Warden in the Arkenstone server, and I agree, it's A LOT of fun. I'd forgotten about how much care went into making this game, but I was walking around Bree in awe at the obvious love that went into the making that town, and now I'm glad to be exploring it again as a lowbie character. It's lots of fun! I just wish I had a mount, the world is kind of huge! I can't wait to see the upcoming changes. I hope they'll truly be F2P friendly like DCUO eventually became (its not perfect, but the compromise to make it accessible is there). Now that I tried Warden, I think I want to roll an archer too, and see which one I'll choose for the long-haul. 😌👍
This is a great video about the pros and cons of LOTRO. You mind if I add a link in my description box for today? I really think it's worth people watching to see if they want to try the game out.
I’m not getting anything from the new monetization, but its really nice to see everyone in world chat mentioning their new to the game or returning because of the new updates. I just transferred to ark from Landy before they announced it… last night at 1am there were 250 nonan, where before it would be less then 150. Great to see new interest even before the update and TV show.
I started streaming a fresh character last year and got him to level 30 before I decided to cancel my internet back in December. When they announced that a lot of content is going to be free I got internet and started playing again. Getting my alts leveled up and put of bree before I try streaming again on my main.
I remember first getting the game over 10 years ago when it was Subscription based and they had a sale on the Lifetime Membership so I picked it up (was around $200). They did go F2P but still kept a VIP membership so in all that time I have not spent a penny on the game. I get 500 points per month to spend in the store and since I am not playing that much I can pretty much get the expansions using the Points I accumulate (not at launch but I can wait). I haven't played in a few years yet I still have it installed and have been thinking of getting back into it but I am completely lost now.... Still a great game and fun to play and I was lucky enough to get a half decent Kinship to play with. Oh and my home is a rather nice also!! One thing I like about the game is you can do side quests and the main quests to gain points that you can then spend on further content without having to drop real world $$. Overall I recommend the game.
I've recently received my 10th year reward! And I still enjoy LOTRO. The only other game that I've invested this much time into was Ultima online. That's one game I wish they had updated over the years, I miss UO 😞. But after all these years, I still enjoy building a new character and starting anew in LOTRO.
That sub change! Holy cow! They did a 180!! It’s great. Ok now the elephant in the room. You’ll most often be soloing the entire game , game is very top heavy. I experienced this in my recent play thru where I made it to about level 27, and didn’t get into a single group. Compare that with EQ1 Project1999 groups there are much more frequent. I don’t know what to say other than I do not agree LOTRO for the group play. At least while levelling. That said I love the game, it was fun experience
The main reason I stuck with LotRO for 10 years (on and off) was because I had friends to enjoy the game with. Nowadays though all those friends are gone so I'm trying to find a new reason to play...
Fantastic video Louey. Keep up the great work on the videos!! I am premium free to play, I used to be VIP. I love the changes the Devs have made for everyone so far. I bought a "experience disabler" ( Stone of the Tortoise) Just so I can experience all the areas and not be over leveled so I get a bit of a challenge in each area too.
Do you know if they are planning to make the inventory display larger? As a disabled person, it’s hard for me to play a game especially an MMORPG if I can’t see what I’m carrying along with me while I play
It's not graphics, old style, or quests. It's about gameplay which basically is challenge. Lotro doesn't offer that for new player anymore, that's why no new player will get hooked in. It's commercial suicide, in many games, when developers start to make things easier hoping it will attract/keep players, which has reverse effect. I posted in several dying games, nobody listens. While it is simple psychology. Game by definition is something that offers challenge, you get satisfaction from overcoming it. Without satisfaction you get bored and leave. This is exactly what happened to people I recommended the game. They see no point playing it unless they are Tolkien fans interested in story. Majority of players is not that.
same, the input lag it creates is something you get used to over time but it still irks me from time to time. Also I'm on evernight and I have noticed that people can get quite defensive about criticism(the lag/copy paste armor designs/performance issues in some areas) of the game sometimes which is not constructive at all :/
After years of experince with different MMORPGs I want to say, that all players will be surprised how refreshing is to go into that old MMORPG like LOTRO is over some objections with graphics etc. These games hav so much of content in comparisson with newly launched MMOs. In these games you will practically cant stuck on top tier waiting for new content soon :) What I dont know If i like or not all new changes in monetization since I am premium player after 8 years of continuous prescription since it was launched.
Yeah it really is a solo game in the early levels. When you get into about your 20s you’ll see more people going about their day. Think of this as a solo game really until you get to level cap
I paid a couple of hundred dollars to be a founder of the game when it first came out which included a lifetime subscription and all the content. Since moving to day break games I’ve got nothing for this and can only play the first 2 chapters. I felt very ripped off. The monetization is also very sad.
How could u forget about Rohan :( Its the best area with the best stories! Well best short stories, MT surely is best so far :D Love LOTRO and still playing. Started in 2008, had a break for few years but came back at mordor and playing till then. No other such game exists which can hook up u for longer. I am not once angry bvecause of lags or outbalanced classes but in general game is superb. I dont find graphics old, they were updated lots of times... I can give u screen from 2008 :) The views on areas is just awesome and u even showed it in begining with Evendim from lake! Love that area.
With the announcement of the F2P change, the boys and I have started a wicked sick epic adventure. Nobody has really played past level 10, so 12 of us have rolled on the brandywine server last week and 5 have subbed. We plan to lock XP at 50 and do all the content when it was released. Before I downloaded the game my perception of the game was that it was pay to win with an egregious cash shop. (Most of the boys had this depiction as well). The cash shop is hilariously bad but not p2w. Coming from WoW I really enjoy the variety of skills each class has, I love situational abilities and all the epic flavour abilities. Hopefully this game doesn't fall victim of ability pruning and become modern wow.
@m i l k visuals tbh that’s not even pay2win, winning in this game is enjoying the story and world, having fun in Lotro has very little to do with how much damage you deal. Egregious, yes, but not problematic
More to the point what server are you on doing all the older instances, I've played since launch and have a char doing all quests deeds etc but doing some instances (I.e. Ost Dunoth) seam hard to find a fellow for
Played Lotro on and off since the original release. The main problem is the time it takes to level an alt and the lag, as a European player it gets really bad in the evening.
@@kezaxor Yeah yes. Well.. if you're from the woke generation you absolutly will not like the community. They want nothing to do with that garbage from the latest LOTR series on Amazon.
@@HalkerVeil ????????????? what does that have to do with anything? the community was a lot better around 65cap. ''woke generation''. you noobs don't understand... your reply is exactly why the community is trash, the epitome in fact, spewing nonsense that isn't even remotely related. i'm 21 & unironically, the vast majority of people on this game are braindead, rude, and whiny despite being several years older.
It's a good video, fair and honest about the game. I'm playing since 2010 or 2011, with a lot of breaks in between. At first it was because of the not so f2p aspect of the game but I saw how much it changed the last couple of years. Also, the in game currency is really nicely done because I was able to buy most of the packs that way, without investing any real money. Prices are lower than before I believe, that's good. The game is awesome as you said if you like the journey and not the end game. I really enjoy how submersive the world is and how big it is too! Heat video, thank you.
I played back before Mines of Moria was released. In fact a week after it dropped I lost interest because WoW. While I'm not SUPER surprised SSG is keeping it up, I mean look at DDO, I am however surprised to hear people are actively running stuff. Hows the health of the overall servers? Is there a server that is more populated than others? Has a ranking system been employed like in DDO?
I love Lotro and have been playing the game since 2017 and I love it. The problem is that the level cap number is too high and will turn off players from leveling. I would prefer that quests (not counting the current expansion quests) are level-scaled (you don't need to level scale mobs just the quests) and reward XP depending on your current; and that gear rewards should just be a loot box that let's you right click it and select which piece of gear and stats that you want, with each box having different rarities depending on the quest you're doing (and the item level of the gear being appropriate for your current level). A great example of this working as intended are the Moria might leather gear loot box and the wayfarer boxes as well. Does it take a good bit of work for this to actually be effective? Yes and I'm sure SSG can pull it off if they were able to release something as the new LI system after years of players asking for a better system. I can't guarantee you that this would be extremely player friendly, and would encourage new and returning players to actually take their time enjoying the world content to just focus on the adventure of being in Middle Earth, instead of rushing to the next zone because you've outleveled it. Also, if someone says, "but I want to feel powerful enough to one-shot a lvl 35 mob on my max level character and not have to put up with level scaled mobs because it makes me like I'm not increasing in power while leveling at all", I have a solution for your complaint: SSG can have an NPC, like the landscape difficulty NPC on legendary servers, that lets you turn on or off the level-scaling feature at any time for that specific character. Again, it can be done but it requires the player demand to be decently sized so that they can feel like it is worth doing. It would also bring in more people to play LOTRO. But wait, there's that other complaint I hear in the background, "but if all those things work and more people play the game, it'll be impossible for me to kill mobs and grind the kills for my slayer deeds". Don't worry I got a solution for that in two easy steps: 1. reduce the slayer deed kill requirement by 30%-50%, and 2. make the mobs respawn faster because these days fast spawning isn't really detrimental to a player since player character power has increased exponentially since the current class and virtue trait trees have been introduced. I was going to say a few points but this posted ended turning into suggestions with rebuttals for the naysayers. Whoever reads this post in its entirety, you're a champ.
Granted I'm not speaking for everyone but there are X amount of folks who have expressed they like have Levels & enjoy the process of gaining such. Granted yes, there are plenty of folks who have expressed their dislike/hate/etc of the amount of Levels LOTRO got to/is at/and will continue to grow into. Which Level 150 is pretty much confirmed pending anything. There were actually 2 Threads with Hundreds of Comments and Tens of Thousands of Views on the Official LOTRO Forums about a Level Squish for LOTRO and the Feedback was pretty telling: A Majority weren't for the idea in some shape or form with only a vocal & tiny minority insisting it was not only needed but necessary for LOTRO's survival. LOTRO is a huge game for it's Content which is only going to grow in 2022 and the SSG LOTRO Team haven't shown any public indications of any "Level Squish and/or Level Adjustment" Plan(s) for a good while. Such "could" happen one day but doesn't seem likely within the next couple or few years.
@@harvain731 that was a very informative response. I guess only time will truly tell. I do need to point out as well that most of the population of LOTRO has been playing the game since launch, Moria, or Mirkwood (whether permanently like a content creator or on/off casually). All of us I guess got so used to the systems that were already there that we just started to accept them as fact. This game can become better but the devs will need to implement these kinds of changes before or shortly after the Amazon Prime TV series releases. The only good thing about that TV series is that it'll attract attention to this game, and the game isn't as new player friendly compared to games like WoW, SWTOR, or FFXIV.
You had me at getting lost in the immersion. The main reason I play Final Fantasy XIV is how immersive it can be, but also the story as well. So, I'll have to check this out again.
I'm REALLY waiting for that update where the content is made free and create from zero without any caps or restrictions and slowly build it up, probably dip into the roleplay community :D
By the way, anyone reading the comments, I am a casual player, I am looking for a casual clan. I would like to belong to a Kinship again. The community is fantastic, I was part of a Kin. long ago when the game was young. I love the game and the lore!!! Thanks again Louey!!
I just reinstalled to check the game out after being away for a long time. It still holds up, despite the aged graphics and old school combat. I am really looking forward to the graphics update. That could definitely bring me back again for real.
There is no "Singular Graphics Update" happening for LOTRO. We've been receiving Graphics Updates for a while now using a Graphics Style they've settled on. The Yondershire an Upcoming Quest Pack with Update 33 in Late-April 2022 will be using this Graphics Style & the areas of Ered Luin, the Shire and Evendim will receive a "little bit" of changes for places bordering the Yondershire. This is how the "Graphics Updates" have been rolling out. The EG7 Investor Reports was just "Investor Speak" while the SSG LOTRO Team have never spoken about any one Graphics Update, New Graphics Engine, etc but a steady rollout of the Graphics Style they are using now.
@@harvain731 Is there anyplace I can view pictures or videos of this "graphics style" you're talking about? I've never seen any of the new areas, only the noob maps.
@@Supernautiloid You'd have to check RUclips Videos. There are plenty showing off places such as Gundabad (Fate of Gundabad Expansion, LOTRO's Latest Expansion), the Angle, Yondershire (Beta/Pre-Update 33 Version) and so on. These are all using that Graphic Style they've settled on using.
Nah. I quit in 2017 after the latest grind re: LI’s. And infusing or whatever. Might be interesting to see what 5 years of lifetime points gets me…but meh. Short life, though. Do what’s fun!
@@jacobferrante1610 Oh but doze essences and sixteen tears (tiers? Nah…tears!) of improved relics of the Buck Rogers and twenty third and a half century age! Getting random teal drops in the North Downs was a ton of neat. I even liked skirmishes…for a while. :)
Suilaid, mellon nin! While you have been fair in both game content and some of the difficulties with SSG, you have neglected to mention one facet where LOTRO provides enjoyment: the Role-playing and Creative Writing opportunities. I founded a kinship (guild) on the RP server dedicated to live roleplay and writing, as well as character/player interactions. We participate in both immersion and RP gaming, as well as group raids and dungeons - I also use the chance to offer writing and Sindarin workshops for beginners. Middle-Earth is my home - and LOTRO is the portal to enter that world. Come, and be welcome!
We likely won't get a hint about the next Expansion until Sept 2022 with that Month's LOTRO Quarterly Producer Letter, the SSG LOTRO Team have shifted into a Quarterly Only Focus for their Development & Announced Plans. We did get a confirmation that we won't be heading to the Scouring of the Shire & Battle of Bywater (Two Key Events in the Shire & once the 4 Hobbits arrive back home) right away and likely be a while before we get back to the Shire for such which the Battle of Bywater happens on Nov. 3rd Third Age 3019. LOTRO atm is "roughly" around Late July/Early August Third Age 3019 at least with the Volume V Epic Quest (the currently only ongoing Main Story) and the overall Story being still in Third Age 3019 so at least ahead of whenever we are told about a "possible" 2022 Expansion it's wait & see where it'll be at.
hi just wanna ask is there a guild system in this game? coz usually whenever I go to a new MMO I usually try to join a guild 1st so that I can ask for the know-hows and macros of the game directly...
@@irsyadasyrafmohamad9784 Kinships do not provide EXP boosts in quests. Though they do make it somewhat easier to access some of the higher tier instances where they can only be run as 3, 6, or 12 person instances (Raids) That gives you access to some really nice loot and sometimes armor that can only be gotten through finishing the 12 person raid.
Oooo, another hardcore warden fan...I agree wardens are the best. Even though I started out playing a yellow spec champion, I think I'm having more fun playing warden than I even had with my champion.
I had a hobbit Warden for a while, loved playing that class. But also found I had some problems with my LI's (This was prior to the recent change to the LI system) and didn't want to go back and do that grind all over again. They recently announced changes to the race / class system. Looks like I'll be returning to the class as a dwarf. Looking forward to it.
champion, burglar and hunter first timer friendly and have useful skills. champion for unmatched aoe damage, hunter for easy travel and DPS. Burglar for stealth and DPS.
@@harvain731 It can be a challenge. It uses 3 "builder" attack skills that when used in a certain combination create a final more powerful attack (or heal depending). It can be difficult to wrap your head around the combinations, but there are plugins that will help; with that. And if your like me, you learn the ones that you like and use them more often than not.
i've returned recently. and started over fresh. the one downside i am feeling that will burn me out is the class system itself. in comparison to FFXIV, where you create one character and can play all classes. this means you go through the story / journey once, and that gives it far more meaning. but LOTRO uses the system where each class has to level up and do the exact same content (in this case 11 times for 11 classes) i can only get through the starting 20 levels of Bree so many times before i just get burned out. this is compounded by knowing that level 20 is not even close to level 140. i used to level every class in WoW for every expansion. up until BFA. at that point i gave up. and leveling up in WoW is far faster than LOTRO. i'd be willing to explore the idea of leveling up more than one RACE, and server.. if each one was able to play all classes on a single character. but 11 classes through like 8 expansions and 140 levels... burn out will ruin my motivation to play. not to mention that progression servers and so on means starting leveling all over again again... so earlier this month, i adopted the setup of having 4 classes with 4 vocations so i had all 10 professions covered, so i wouldn't have to rely on a dead auction house, or pathetic quest rewards, or strange stats on gear from skirmish vendors... but... going through each zone 4 times is proving to be rough. and the gathering is actually a massive grind. like you need so much copper ore and light leather to master tier 1. far more than you would naturally gather while questing in a zone. it makes no sense. i'd rather my one character be able to level up ALL professions just like FFXIV. also, in FFXIV i can level each gathering profession from 1-50 in a few hours. not 50+ hours each. and sadly those 4 classes i have started now... are not likely to be my favorite. with more classes becoming free later this month i will be making more characters... i just wish a character had that ability to switch class with a single click of a button like FFXIV.
I wish I was more interested in this style of game. I really want a massive open world lotr game to play but the graphics and the gameplay look so lame. I like the shadow of mordor type gameplay but I wanted to be able to leave mordor and explore middle earth but actually be true to lore. I'm hoping one day that game will be made. Give me assassins creed/gta in middle earth please?!?!
Just came back. Sad I missed the anniversary giveaways. The ui is pretty dreadful. They have ditched old systems but haven't done a great job of getting rid of them all the way, which can create confusion. Dunno how long I'll stick around, but it's a fun time waster l, just for the lore of the book quests.
@@Achintyaaa Well anyone can play LOTRO all the way to Max Level which is Level 140 atm. Post-Update 33 the amount of Content will have tons of stuff to do in the Level 1 to 95 Regions, it'll be after Level 95 or the Helm's Deep Expansion where folks need more Content. Also anyone can play LOTRO for Free & never spend any Money. In-Game Currency can be earned for the LOTRO Store and all Quest Packs, Mini-Expansions (currently 1) and Expansions (except Fate of Gundabad which comes to the Store in May 2022) can be purchased.
It's more than just the graphics that drag it down tbh. The game runs like crap even on a top end gaming PC, and it doesn't even have proper EU servers 15 years into the game (the EU servers are actually in America) with no plans to ever add one, so at least half the player base is going to have to put up with constant ability delay and lag.
Well, played this since launch for literally years, on and off of course as my life took turns. It was and is great up until the end of the LotR storyline at the Black Gates. Other stuff, though... Well, it's a fan fiction story-wise with varying quality from abysmal to somewhat passable. Level design is good, landscapes are picturesque, music is amazing. levelling and gearing up is streamlined in a good way so yeah, It's a good time to give it a go. U can even play it as a singleplayer story-driven RPG with most of the classes, and tbh I think it's the best way to experience the content up until the endgame. Just don't expect much from the story when Tolkien's story ends. That one was a huge letdown for me.
Huge Tolkien fan and I agree. Overall I think it's pretty good, albeit repatative quests, once you reach Gondor though the storyline takes a turn in the wrong direction. Not only is it bad storytelling we start seeing lore violations as well, such as black Gondorians. Mordor is an expansion I got and for the first time I felt ripped off by SSG and it would had been better to go direct to Mirkwood than horsing around in Mordor with nonsensical questing that makes no sense. Things start to look up once past Mordor I think but then I reached Dale and it was the dumbest s**t I ever saw in LotRO and it was more than obvious that LotRO was used as a platform to spread IRL political propaganda. Once in Erebor it's more bad storytelling, like chasing after dwarves that's fighting a common enemy because they crossed the outskirts of Erebor, but it's ok to let in Easterlings that you're at war with (??). Once I came to Beórning land I parked it an unsubbed. I haven't enjoyed LotRO since Rohan and untill they remove the lore violation and political propaganda I'm not giving SSG a penny. Keep it Tolkien or I'm not playing. If SSG would withdraw their support from the terrorist organisation BLM that would be just swell too.
Game is not playable after they balanced it for high levels at the cost of low level balance. Low level world pve was once challenging. Now new players get bored of one shotting everything pretty fast and leave the game. Unless you are for story only, most of gamers need some challenge, that's what the game supposed be about. I posted about it but nobody listened. Potential new players leave as soon as they try it.
Unfortunately, I have to say 'don't be fooled'. Even though they've expanded the free-to-play stuff you still hit a massive paywall at endgame where you're having to pay out loads of money on the expansions to advance your character. It's also really messy and confusing trying to work out what you're paying for. There's better pay models and better games out there, so until they get their act together, no thanks.
Sure there’s better pay models out there lol, it’s a fifteen year old game. Up to level 95 is more than enough content to have fun in the game , if your goal is end game content then this is simply not the game for you, go back to WoW where they streamline it for you and make leveling a nuisance instead of the main event
@@Flash4ML The fact that it's a 15-year-old game doesn't mean it has to be set up the way it is currently. I enjoy the leveling process too, but the sudden paywall and confusion about expansions is not a pleasant experience and I feel offputting to a lot of people. Why would I go back to wow and why are you making the assumption that that's where I came from? There are better games out there.
When there is no lag, game is great. When there is. game is literalty unplayable. And lag is there 80% of the time. Also warden is the worse pick. Avoid this class as hell. Comming from 11y lotro player, who main wrd since release. I pick Lotro over EsO and WoW / founder in both. Also i do resub for 1y ahead, but this doesnt mean game worth playing. Its just love and enourmous tolerance. If /which wont happen/ SSG fix their servers, il welcome and advocate any new plaer to join in, but in curent game state= stay away.
I have everything set to max, running on a 4k monitor, dx11 and it runs find for me. A lot of people in my Kin are doing the same thing and they have no issues. Pretty sure it's not the game.
@@unafflictedgaming That may be the issue. I know before they went to the 64 bit client, LOTRO used up quite a bit of system RAM for graphics. Now, 1-2 gig is what i see on my card. It could be something in the architecture of the CPU/GPU that doesn't process the instruction correctly. Sounds like a bug in LOTRO for sure.
@@gregorywallace7614 it did the same thing with my last laptop. So this issue has been ongoing for years. I've never gotten to play this game simply because I own laptops instead of a desktop. (Which I only did because of the recent chip shortages and massive price hikes) how they could let this issue go on so long is beyond me. I've tried everything to fix it. Sad but oh well
Serously..this title worth a new mmo game with updated raphics..i want a new LOTRO MMO !!! how idiots are the developers today to not try make masterpiece of LOTRO new MMO?? it has potential to beat all other from far..it has the best lore just wtf ?!? instead they made garbages like New World nad Lost Ark...
Anyone that wants to set a game up in this world must purchase a license to be able to do that, and the stipulation is that they must stay true to the lore of Tolkien to continue to use that license. (no panda race, no gi-normous swords, etc.) Two things that new devs might stay away from.

Now that I tried Warden, I think I want to roll an archer too, and see which one I'll choose for the long-haul. 😌👍
This is a great video about the pros and cons of LOTRO. You mind if I add a link in my description box for today? I really think it's worth people watching to see if they want to try the game out.
Thanks, and sure!
Perfect! Just started looking into playing this! I miss old school mmos and I can't wait!
I do honestly think the lack of mass media advertisement of the game really doesn't makes it it as popular as it could be.
One reason I still play Lotro is Louey's cat cam!
Yeah it’s best to level as if it’s an rpg, unless you have some friends to play with
Great video.
Playing since 2007., had some pauses and breaks but am always returning. The world feel is second to none.
Outstanding game.
The main reason I stuck with LotRO for 10 years (on and off) was because I had friends to enjoy the game with. Nowadays though all those friends are gone so I'm trying to find a new reason to play...
Same for me with wow, playing mmorpgs allone sux
old school combat is what i love about the game
Great video. Thanks!
Lotro's graphics really shine in its landscapes. Have yet to encounter another mmorpg that can match it.
Louey, I love the cat. I love your vids. Please create a support vid for yellow RK with all the weirdo changes. Muchly appreciated : )
Only thing i really do not like is that there is no servers in EU.
same, the input lag it creates is something you get used to over time but it still irks me from time to time. Also I'm on evernight and I have noticed that people can get quite defensive about criticism(the lag/copy paste armor designs/performance issues in some areas) of the game sometimes which is not constructive at all :/
@@kurrymurry I'm in Evernight aswell, people are quite toxic there.
I wish I played this when it came out, tried it recently and didn't really see anyone around :(
Yeah it really is a solo game in the early levels.
I installed it the other day and saw on a loading screen that you could get tomes that give flat 5 percent buff to things like attack and defense
@@milkvisuals9250 its just some buff that u dont need. Every thing on the store is pointless. You get store points from playing the game anyways.
@m i l k visuals tbh that’s not even pay2win, winning in this game is enjoying the story and world, having fun in Lotro has very little to do with how much damage you deal. Egregious, yes, but not problematic
did you changed your mind about pw2? i didnt even knew thah f2p can only reach 95lvl and there is 8 expansions
More to the point what server are you on doing all the older instances, I've played since launch and have a char doing all quests deeds etc but doing some instances (I.e. Ost Dunoth) seam hard to find a fellow for
Pretty much all older instances I run are with my kin. We are on Anor
Played Lotro on and off since the original release. The main problem is the time it takes to level an alt and the lag, as a European player it gets really bad in the evening.
Still the best community in all MMO's ever created.
yeah no
@@kezaxor Yeah yes.
Well.. if you're from the woke generation you absolutly will not like the community.
Just downloaded the game today and i am forced to play one race and that race only has 1 class..... so yeah .......
Great vid btw :)
I wish what others aspect of the game be such good like world building and storytelling.
love your videos Louey! You are a natural ;-)
@@harvain731 Oh I see, thanks. Well, anything is better than nothing I guess. I'll have to wait and see how this rollout ends up.

Is there anyplace I can view pictures or videos of this "graphics style" you're talking about? I've never seen any of the new areas, only the noob maps.
@@Supernautiloid You'd have to check RUclips Videos. There are plenty showing off places such as Gundabad (Fate of Gundabad Expansion, LOTRO's Latest Expansion), the Angle, Yondershire (Beta/Pre-Update 33 Version) and so on.

Account creation should be back up now
i wonder what the next expansion will be i would love to see the sea of rhun or connect rohan to eriador like tharbad etc.
I can't play LOTRO. I can't seem to get it to work on Windows 10. It was a fun game though.

hi just wanna ask is there a guild system in this game? coz usually whenever I go to a new MMO I usually try to join a guild 1st so that I can ask for the know-hows and macros of the game directly...
Yes, the guilds in LOTRO are called "kinships" (often referred to as kins)!
@@Louey7 just wanna ask if the guild also provide exp boost in quests as well?
I mean, yes?
The lag... The lag is what is turning me off all the time >.
for a first timer, what is a fun class to start with? i was thinking warden when it releases
champion, burglar and hunter first timer friendly and have useful skills. champion for unmatched aoe damage, hunter for easy travel and DPS. Burglar for stealth and DPS.
@@Cpt.Zer0 is the warden really as hard as people say? im coming from an mmo and rpg background.
@@farhanbaig404 Warden is a Class using Skill Combinations to get Stronger Skills. So it's just learning those Combinations.
Which class is easiest to play in terms of rotation?
Champion & Hunter have pretty "basic" rotations for a good amount of their skills especially while Leveling up.
i've returned recently. and started over fresh.
the one downside i am feeling that will burn me out is the class system itself.
in comparison to FFXIV, where you create one character and can play all classes. this means you go through the story / journey once, and that gives it far more meaning.
but LOTRO uses the system where each class has to level up and do the exact same content (in this case 11 times for 11 classes)
i can only get through the starting 20 levels of Bree so many times before i just get burned out. this is compounded by knowing that level 20 is not even close to level 140.
i used to level every class in WoW for every expansion. up until BFA. at that point i gave up. and leveling up in WoW is far faster than LOTRO.
i'd be willing to explore the idea of leveling up more than one RACE, and server.. if each one was able to play all classes on a single character.
but 11 classes through like 8 expansions and 140 levels... burn out will ruin my motivation to play. not to mention that progression servers and so on means starting leveling all over again again...
so earlier this month, i adopted the setup of having 4 classes with 4 vocations so i had all 10 professions covered, so i wouldn't have to rely on a dead auction house, or pathetic quest rewards, or strange stats on gear from skirmish vendors... but... going through each zone 4 times is proving to be rough. and the gathering is actually a massive grind. like you need so much copper ore and light leather to master tier 1. far more than you would naturally gather while questing in a zone. it makes no sense.
i'd rather my one character be able to level up ALL professions just like FFXIV.
also, in FFXIV i can level each gathering profession from 1-50 in a few hours. not 50+ hours each.
and sadly those 4 classes i have started now... are not likely to be my favorite. with more classes becoming free later this month i will be making more characters...
i just wish a character had that ability to switch class with a single click of a button like FFXIV.
what about overall terrible performance of the game? it is always the biggest turn off for me when i come back
I wish I was more interested in this style of game.

They have ditched old systems but haven't done a great job of getting rid of them all the way, which can create confusion. Use to play it a lot,,what they should change its "the map"..its awful and hard to undestand
I'd say no because it's over 10 years old and they still expect you to spend money to play the game.
That one was a huge letdown for me.
actually my favorite storyline was the black book of mordor, right after the tolkien story end.
the anduin vales was amazing.
@@dannys7549 terrorist organization BLM?
wtf is wrong with you
Game is not playable after they balanced it for high levels at the cost of low level balance. Low level world pve was once challenging. Now new players get bored of one shotting everything pretty fast and leave the game. Unless you are for story only, most of gamers need some challenge, that's what the game supposed be about. I posted about it but nobody listened. Potential new players leave as soon as they try it.
Those numbers look ridiculous
Which?

Great mmo for a “pve” player. To bad it has no real pvp content…
PVP never works man, like almost all games have bad PVP.
Why you should play lotro = pvmp ofc
😺
@@gregorywallace7614 True..i play this Lotro and its awsome anyway..
@@m.f3815 I'm on my 7th year in the game. I just got my Guardian through Moria into Mirkwood. Found a few things In Moria that I had not done on my numerous other passes through there.
That's the thing I really like about LOTRO. After 7 years, I still occasionally will run into something I've not seen before.
@@gregorywallace7614 lol im in Mirkood now also..i do all quests in zones..my 68 lvl hunter looks and play nice :)
@@m.f3815 My Guardian that's currently there is a 2 or 3 levels over, so it's pretty easy at this point. But I'm the same way; I try and most often succeed in getting all quests completed in a zone, unless I max out rep first.
