    Thank you for another great, detailed info. I agree, taking the Princess transfer is so convenient. I appreciate that it is prepaid and done.

    We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites at the airport. For the transfer from airport to the hotel you just text them a code and the shuttle comes to pick you up. Return was easy also. Driver told us where to go to catch the Princess shuttle without going back in the terminal. We went on Discovery Princess last month and had a good time.

      That is very good to know; thank you for sharing with us!

    The transfer is more expensive than a taxi for 2 or more people. It is important for people to know that cost wise, you are not saving anything money-wise. You are also jumping through extra hoops by going back to the airport. You do have the advantage of checking your luggage at the airport, but I wonder if the time spent going back to the airport, checking in there, waiting for shuttle to fill isn't just as long as going direct to the pier and checking luggage there? If you are staying downtown, taxi is definitely the way to go.

    • @shellyreed8241
      @shellyreed8241 2 месяца назад +1

      ABSOLUTELY! You are going waay out of your way going back to the airport! From a hotel in Seattle you are minutes away from boarding the ship? I am making decisions to NOT have a suitcase bigger than carry on for ease in boarding 😊

    • @renamccully1462
      @renamccully1462 2 месяца назад

      For sure if you stay downtown it would not make sense time and convenience-wise, but if you stay at an airport hotel it would be super easy to jump back to SEATAC to pick up the Princess transfer to the pier. Pre-paid, easy, and done ❤

    Did Princess Not Have The Porters To Take Your Luggage At Pier91? The Last Time We Sailed On Our Side By Side Cruise With HAL And Princess They Had Porters For HAL And Not For Princess. I’m Wondering If Princess Is Not Paying For That Service. Thank You Allison For Sharing We Hope You And Gordon Have A Wonderful Cruise

      Princess had porters but there was just a really long line to use them. I don’t know if they didn’t have enough or what the reason was, but there was a really long line. I hope you two are doing really well!💕💕

    We’re sailing on Celebrity to Alaska in just 31 days and are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn the night before we board the ship. Where do we go to find the shuttle bus to the hotel? Is it marked well? This is our first Alaska cruise & we’re so excited. Your videos have helped me prepare so Thank you so much. Enjoy your cruise. Thanks again.

    FYI….On the order card for breakfast you can write in things not on the card, like Eggs Benedict & it will be delivered. Also where at the bottom where you check the time, like 7-7:30 I have circled the 7 am & around 7 am my order was brought. Also get some small bills so it’s easy when you want to leave a tip.

    Thanks for this information. We've been considering a Seattle departure port for Alaska and would like to book the transfers and pre-cruise hotel through Princess. Is that a possibility? How ridiculously expensive would that be compared to doing it on your own?

    We always drive to Seattle and park at the pier. Once the parking shuttle drops us off, we give our luggage to a porter and off we go. We have never had to wait in the long line. Don't forget to tip the porter a couple bucks. Very easy boarding in Seattle.

      We live near Seattle & drive to the pier as well. Our experience has been the same as yours: Get out of the car, hand your bag to a porter & head to the terminal for check-in. Surprised by Allison's experience.

  • @allenesaacson1978

    If you aren’t flying in or you are staying downtown, the transfer isn’t really an option. It cost us $15 to shuttle from our hotel to the pier for 3 people. $20 to Uber from pier to train station. Felt like both were well worth it.

    We had the same experience today at the lunch buffet on the Emerald. No dining room open, so the place was packed and no tables available. And honestly, the food wasn't great. But a very good meal in the dining room tonight, and impeccable service.

    I get it! I NEED to go to Alaska often as well! Have visited 3 times on 7 day and once on 14 day (you managed this Sept. '23 booking). Have May '25 14-day booked. Alaska wish list includes: Summer Solstice cruise of 22 or 28 days, Fire and Ice (includes Hawaii), northbound followed by week on own to do land and ending with southbound, and Katmai NP to see brown bears! Also want to experience Alaska on Princess as all have been on HAL so far. Why? Because we LOVE Alaska and want to see more and more!

    Allison, I’m confused. When we were dropped off at the pier by Uber last September, we just gave our luggage to a porter and went to check in. Why the long line now? It was far cheaper taking an Uber than the transfer for our group of four.

    • @LetsGoTravelTips

    • @janaclark
      @janaclark 2 месяца назад +1

      I also enjoy lunch in the main dining room on embarkation day instead of the busy buffet. Some of the people I met on that first day at a shared table became fast friends for the cruise and now we’re even talking about our next cruise together.😃

    • @pw-sz6ds
      @pw-sz6ds 2 месяца назад +1

      We didn’t know which MDR was open on embarkation so we asked a crew member. The MDR can also be busy and you may have to wait to get a table. The earlier you go the more crowded it is. I usually go about 30 min before closing. No wait and we are escorted right in.

    When there are lines for busses, TSA screening , boarding, and food on embarkation; that's a scheduling and passenger handling failure. It’s entirely unnnecessary!
