I had a friend who lived in a small apartment with her husband and a toddler. Then, she bought a purebred Husky pup. If you know these blue eyed crazies, they need tons of exercise. I felt so sorry for this pup. Went over one day, and she was crate training him. Huskies are also very talkative. She screamed at him. I realized, I really don’t like this person. But, I loved the dog. So, I asked if he could come spend the weekend with me on our very rural farm. He was running full tilt, barking, talking, bounding around us, then off to run again. My two mutt rescue dogs tried to keep up lol. When it came time to take him home, I just couldn’t. Told my friend I would buy him. She said, ok, if you pay me double what he cost. Her husband got on the phone and told her, my mom paid for him, plus you don’t even like him. Khan got to stay with us. I lost a friend, but gained a 75 pound bundle of crazy that I still miss. He lived to be 13. Sorry, no clue why I decided to share this here! Love you Lushes! 😎
I once worked at a company that gave all new hires a gas card to help them make it to training the first week. We stopped doing that after new hired became upset that it was only 40 dollars. Then they switched to reimbursing ride share, but people were upset they had to pay first. Then they remembered its not their problem to get adults to their job.
We had an issue with gas cards at my job too haha I work for a small company, less then 10-15 people. We have techs that drive to jobs so we used to give them a flat travel fee, but then switched to just paying for their gas. But it had a cap, which was 1 use every day. Which I think is more then fair since you’re not going more then 60 miles out of your area too. You’re not burning thru a whole tank of gas DAILY but these people would literally fill their tank daily just bc they could. In their personal cars mind you, so we were paying for their gas off the clock too. The boss ended up getting rid of them bc they were more of a hassle and it made people greedy. It sucks when you try to do the right thing or a nice thing, someone will always find something to complain about.
@@Sara-xk1nsto be fair filling your tank daily is pretty much the same as filling it from a 1/4 one or twice a week, either way no good for the company but not the employees fault.
Yeah sucks how many people have zero integrity these days. Used to be your reputation meant something more than likes, clicks and shares..... I am glad my mom was big on integrity and being a good person even when no one is watching. I think it matters greatly.
I gave away some old canning jars when we were cleaning out my grandma's basement. There were about 200 of them, all in good condition but yes, some were dusty and a few had (ewwww) dead spiders in them. The ad said "free, must take all, no delivery" and mentioned (with clear pics) that they were dirty and would need to be cleaned. The 4-5 dead spiders were mentioned too. A woman messaged and really wanted them. She lived about 40 miles away, and said she was a single mom with 4 kids and no car, and could we please deliver them. My husband felt bad and we agreed to deliver them. Well we got there and she lived in a pretty nice house, with two fairly new SUVs in the driveway. She refused to take the jars unless we washed out all of them with her hose. We said no, and she refused to take them. Another person messaged me that evening and offered $100 cash for the jars, came out the next day and bought them all and was so grateful. I will NEVER put up a "free" ad again.
Cleaning a basement for an older relative, they usually have a lot of items, and imagine trying to set up an assembly line in the kitchen to take the jars apart, rise them and have them dry? That’s going to take a while. Plus, this grandma must of had a lot of stuff in the basement of they are giving things away for free to get rid of it quickly.
That's what you call entitled! I do a lot of canning, and go through 100's of jars, that can get really pricey. If someone were to offer me 200 jars for free, I'd be there as soon as I could grab my keys and hit the road, I'd haul them from the basement or shed myself, load them myself, and darn well clean them up myself. Some people just weren't raised right.
Someone I know caught Covid and passed it on to the kids. They asked me to get things at the supermarket. I bought a lot of things including Gatorade. I dropped the groceries off and left. I got a call saying that the Gatorade was the wrong flavor. All I said was "Beggars can't be choosers." I said you're welcome and hung up.
Wait did they give you money & send you to the store because they had a contagious virus & you're calling them a beggar?? If you went & bought groceries with your own money & no list that'd be one thing.. but you kinda sound like the jerk rn bud. A little more context next time you want the internet to take your side, perhaps??
@JeannetteTetrault I paid for the groceries and was repaid when the Covid tests were negative. Plus, if I were a "Jerk," as you said, I could have easily said no and hung up the phone. As for Gatoraide, they could have said what flavor instead of general. I am not wasting my time for a special list. An easy text with a list would have been great, but again, it was a general list. Also, what would YOU have done, if anything.
I stopped posting all together, but definitely found you aren't wrong. Plus, if you really want to give it for free and find a nice person who's coming to buy it, you can tell them right then and there just to keep their money!
I gave a 14 year old car to a friend. About a year after she texted me questions about issues with the car. Like excuse me? It's YOUR car now that YOU'VE been driving for a year
The same thing happened to me. She was a single mom, so we (my ex husband and I) tried to help with tires and repairs at first. After a while, I said no to her and she started messaging my ex privately. I don't know how long he helped her.
@@TwattWaffleWhitney lol....my statement still applies. I had a roommate who was given an old beat up truck for $1....he complained about how messed up it was constantly leaky radiator always overheating bad axel etc...I said how much you pay for it....when he said a dollar....I looked at him dumbfounded.....he didn't have another car....."why u complaining then?!" He just listed the problems once again, completely missing my point of the question....some people just aren't grateful. What pissed me off was he wasn't some entitled bum but a fellow veteran who has combat experience....living through that....and not being grateful for things....just so weird to me
My late husband installed fences. We had someone we knew want a fence for their full yard and assumed he could do it for them. Not only did they want free labor but could not understand why they would have to pay for the materials. The materials for the fence they wanted cost $10,000 wholesale. I guess they expected us to pay for it. Nope.
For real. I own my own business and some "friends" want me to do free work. I went to a friend's house and offered him a real good deal on some work. He was like you wanna charge me?
I saw this entitlement with complete strangers with my family's fencing company they had. Nothing on that large of a job though (except city work lol). I'd be giving an estimate to do a repair & they'd look dumbfounded that we aren't fixing the gate/post/etc that they damaged on a fence we didn't install. The best part is, if it were just a hardware issue & there wasn't specialty hardware to be replaced, we'd do quick fixes for free while we were out there for the inspection/estimate (small town, so it was great for reputation). However, I based that depending on how they acted. This was over 20 years ago so the internet hadn't corrupted society yet but that entitlement still existed. As a side note to others: if you truly support your friends/family & their small business, don't ask for a discount. IF they can afford to discount the work/product, they will most likely volunteer that, assuming you aren't an a-hôle (I do with my services). Asking/demanding puts them in a shitty situation where they have to decide things like "do I bend for the sake of this relationship or do I make payroll this week". Imagine if you were asked to work for free/half pay just because you & your boss are friendly...
@@Falconlibrary you got me laughing with that 🤣. I had a few times where that was a negotiating tactic to get the price down. Funny part is, it was a legit one, sometimes. Mainly with special orders (like the privacy fence with slats pre-installed) as that stuff was useless once the job was done unless someone ordered the exact same color, gauge, & height fence so we gave it to them at cost if they went that route.
Years back I had a friend try to get me to do the insurance thing for him. I had to explain to him that he had the car I sold him for almost two weeks and he was asking me to commit insurance fraud. We are no longer friends.
I was pulling security outside an abandoned building one night, and this homeless guy asks me for some food. I had a partial bag of M&M snack mix, and asked him if he had any food allergies (because I don't want to be the reason he dies), and he said no, so I gave him the partial bag I had. He looks at it and hears there is maybe 1 or 2 handfuls left in the bag, and he gets on my case. "This ain't gonna fill me up. I'm not a kid." I'm sorry sir, but this is all I have to offer. And as he's walking away, he says he should kick my ass. Dude, you're the one asking for food. Would you rather continue being hungry, or have a little bit of something in your stomach? Some people's kids.
Homeless people don't have a problem getting food, help is out there...too much, most of them are fat. Their problem is not having a home, not lacking food.
I recently had a similar experience. Homeless guy asking for cash to get a burger. I said I don't carry cash but offered him a bag of jerky, some other snacks and a drink (typical road trip snacks) and he got pissed. Said, What am I supposed to do with this? I said, I don't know, Eat it! Some people.
@@joshwilliams9248 yeah. Unfortunately, when they ask for money to get food, and you tell them you don't have cash, but offer them food or to buy them some food, and they refuse that offer, it's usually because they want the cash for drugs and/or alcohol. And that is really sad.
I even had a lady ask me one day on my way home from the train, just a block and a half away from the station, if I had some money so she could get on the train. Suspecting the truth (because of my neighborhood) I told her to follow me. After about a minute, she asked me where we we going, and I told her I don't have any cash, but I could help her get on the train. She responded, "Never mind." and turned around and headed back to where she initially was. I heard her state as she was walking away, "He really thought I wanted to get on the train!" In fact, I knew she was asking for money to collect enough to get alcohol from the corner store at the other end of the block. Don't get me wrong, there have been plenty of people that were grateful for whatever assistance or help they can receive, but then there are others that will blatantly lie about why they are requesting money, and then get irritated at you for offering to get them what they are wanting rather than the cash for it.
Those post where parents are looking for child care for free or ridiculously low pay are so insane to me. Like the people that will agree to watch your child for no pay/barely any pay are not the people you want watching your child! Don’t save money on child care, too many creeps and pervs in this world that will take advantage of that, terrifying tbh.
@@nesamdoom Yep, especially for infants/toddlers. There are literally thousands of "day cares" that are really just some negligent woman/couple with a bunch of play pens in the back room. You can find body cam footage on RUclips of cops responding to negligence calls at said daycares, and one of the more infamous ones include the "day care" woman literally smiling as she knowingly hands over a dead baby that died in her care. Always do your due diligence when looking for someone to watch your kids. It isn't unheard of to find a "day care" being ran by people that not only had their own kids taken by CPS, but have actual child abuse/neglect charges on their record.
Same with their pets. House sit and dog sit for me for three months for free… no free is for family and if they won’t do it you need to hire someone. Sorry.
A while back a couple I knew was having money troubles. One of them would constantly call me just to complain about everything: No money, hated their jobs, didn't think they'd still have to be working in their 50's, angry at their family, their partner, etc. When they started crying they didn't have anything to cook. I felt bad because I've known what it's like to have nothing. So I put together a big box of basic pantry / food items: pasta, veggies, spaghetti sauce, canned soups, some eggs, couple sticks of butter, some cheese and frozen veggies, etc. She was grateful but her partner was not. Said she didn't eat 'cheap food'. Ask me if I cared or offered to help afterwards when they complained about not have money or anything in their kitchen?
Wait wait wait... That one lady asking for the highlights doesn't even know if her daughter is alive and she's asking random people online to do her hair? Doesn't she have more important things to worry about than her highlights?
When friends ask for help moving because they need a truck and/or trailer. All I ask is for them to cover gas if it is a bit of a drive and have everything packed up and ready to go when I arrive. I'll help you move things out and into your new place, but I'm not spending 6+ hours packing up your entire appartement. I've had people try and argue with me like I was the one asking for a favor.
Neighbour had a bathroom leaky tap i offered to come over and together we could fix it. She says i won't be home Tuesday so you could do it then. I said i don't do the repair i will help you do it. She didn't want to learn a new skill so i suppose she paid to have the tap fixed not my issue
I'm pretty sure the judge isn't going to hold her roots showing and her lack of highlights against her. Her priorities and focus are twisted. Highlights seems the least of her worries. I'm thinking the father might be the stable parent.
@@martina5296I told a bitch on the HOA board that she should spend more time touching up her roots than harassing me and my neighbors over small things (were all trades people and sometimes materials are in our driveways for less than 24hrs) and the room went fucking silent and she started crying and ran out lol my wife used to be a cosmetologist, I know more about hair than I should 🤣
Oh man, I have a crazy homeless people story lol this was about…20 yrs ago now. I was 15 at the time. Where my best friend lived there was a trail and what we THOUGHT was a SMALL homeless encampment back there. So also her house was in walking distance from McDonald’s. We went over, ate lunch and bought $20 worth of burgers. (This is when they were literally $1) we walked over to the trail and started handing them out…..bro….when I tell you these people started coming out from every which way!!!! Even 20 burgers wasn’t enough! They proceeded to throw rocks at us, scream obscenities and chase us out of the woods. 😂😂 we were literally young kids just tryna do something we thought was pretty nice lol smfh
My husband had tried to persuade me that we should move in with his diabetic step father and provide care. My husband’s twin sisters had told him that I would receive free room and board if we did this. I am a health care professional with over 25 years of experience at that time. I explained that his step father, having already lost one leg and with a diet that would necessitate the loss of the second fairly soon would be more than I could handle without lifts. Further, The amount of time necessary for caring for both men would mean placing my job on hold or reducing to part time. My husband was becoming insistent that I could do this so I went to our HR dept and asked what I could expect in wages for said position. The answer was free room and board with $62,000./yr. I’m fairly sure vacation and days off would have to be included. I heard quite a fuss over this. My husband’s sister don’t speak to me and I’m good with that.
@@cmmm-p1b well I’m a pretty compassionate person and always have been. I grew up in a very small town, it’s still small but since that time 20 yrs ago, it has gotten bigger. But at that point in time we really didn’t have a local place for the homeless to go and get free meals or shelter. We do now. But then it was just becoming an out of control situation and these people were literally eating out of dumpsters and trash cans. There’s so much detail I could go into about my small town , about 20 yrs ago we began to have a large surge in addiction and homelessness. Now it’s absolutely rampant but at this time this happened it was just becoming a problem. And honestly, we were 2 young ladies with big hearts and extra money that just wanted to help some people that we knew could use a meal…obviously they did not see it that way. I will say tho, before we were chased off by the rude ones, we did have a few that were VERY appreciative of a simple cheeseburger and thanked us and even asked if they could give us hugs. The first few people we gave to were extremely sweet. Once we ran out of the burgers the remaining MEN were not very nice.
This reminds me of when I started a job at a factory before I got into health care and I was talking to this girl and said I was going to the gas station on break. She asked if she could ride with me and I said sure, and as we were driving there she asked if I’d want to pick her up every day and bring her to work… Like ma’am I didn’t know you existed 5 hours ago. I’m not your mom. And to make things worse she lives 30 minutes in the opposite direction.
The saddest part is that all this makes it harder for people who are really struggling. I took care of my mom 24/7 the last 10 years of her life. Our living expenses and her medical bills took all of my savings and left me in debt. I am finally on ss but bc of years out of workplace its really not enough to live on. My car is 26 years old. I stay home almost all the time to save my car. I'm cold bc I can't run the furnace much. I'm often hungry. I don't ask for help bc people like this have made people look down on those really in trouble. I'm very grateful for the blessings that I do have bc I know there are those having a much harder time.
Food stamps? Food pantries? Churches?? No need to ever go hungry. Pride will not fill your belly and poor nutrition leads to lots of health problems. Good luck 🍀
You have my sympathy. I've been in the same position for a couple of months, living on beans and staying in bed (I'm a pensioner) because I couldn't afford to run the heating. I hope you're in a better place now.
@annalieff-saxby568 Thank you. This is where I will be. But I'm going to hang in there. I hope things can improve for you. It's hard, isn't it, this just isn't what we worked so hard for. But we've made it this far!!! You will be on my heart and in my prayers. You say pensioner, are you in the UK?
Call 311- ask about resources in your area. Never feel bad for asking when you are in need. It is important to be resourceful especially after all the sacrifices you have done.
I often see posts in these fb community groups from people “looking for help with groceries” or “embarrassed that they need some assistance getting food for their kids” & when people offer to give them a bag of canned items, or other non perishables, the response is usually “I really just need money or a gift card so I can pick out my own stuff” or “maybe you can send me some door dash”.
Meanwhile there are plenty of food banks. Which I do not understand how they can say they are embarrassed to go there, but have no problem begging from others.
@@JAM661 I don’t think they’re embarrassed to go to the food bank, they just don’t like what’s there. Why go get a package of lentils & a can of corn when you can have a stranger send chick fil a to you via door dash.
@@Llkolii you know how to survive & get by with what’s available. Unfortunately, others don’t, or just don’t want to. I hope things have gotten better for you.
My mom sold a bed frame, mattress and box spring on fb marketplace with the clarification that she won’t move it and can’t transport it and an older woman showed up in a small sedan alone and was so confused as to why my mom said it wasn’t gonna work
Lmao. My ex needed a bed, and found one online. He had a tiny, little car and I had a normal sized Nissan Altima. Still, not a truck by any means, even a SUV would have been too small. We showed up and the guy looked so confused, said we couldn't be serious. I told him I was dead serious, I'm a tetris champ. My ex and I took apart the futon frame and I packed it in the trunk/back seats. Then I whipped out a bunch of bungee cords and dog leashes. We put the mattress ontop of my car and strapped it down, the guy selling it came out with a roll of plastic wrap and tried to wrap it down even more. When we got onto the "highway", only a short part of the drive, when I hit 70 the mattress started to flap all over. So me and my ex had to roll the windows down and strap the mattress to our seats inside and hold em down. Honestly one of the dumbest things I've ever done, but to say no to my ex would have been 100x the headache. We never got pulled over, but had lots of cars taking photos lol. Probably on some social media site out there.
I work in a food pantry for the homeless. The entitlement is crazy. There's reasons why they're homeless, usually because they have bad impulse control and make bad decisions.
I also used to volunteer at a food pantry/soup kitchen. I was appalled at the entitlement I saw in some of these people, and it wasn't just a few of them! It really makes it hard to want to help.
Not only that, but the dude complaining about daycare price increase said that it was a FACILITY, meaning that woman probably had no control over any pricing.
Even the raised price seems like more than reasonable with 2 meals and snacks included. Food isn't cheap. Finding good and affordable daycare isn't easy, especially ones that are competent and safe.
@@martina5296Especially competent and safe for sure. Besides that child care is INSANELY expensive to begin with. That seems almost half what we paid. And that was almost 8 years ago now. Can't imagine it's gone down over the last decade......some people really just suck for sure.
@@Tom_Tahmas50 kids would mean you'd have to hire workers, have a larger facility with a bigger kitchen (and likely a cook), pay not only business taxes and licensing but employee taxes, SSI, etc too. Not to mention insurance and benefits. You'd also have to hire an administrative staff person to do the scheduling, billing, ordering of supplies, etc. That "huge" amount of money would get eaten up very quickly.
Here’s one for ya. Guest came to my house at Christmas. She is family. I picked her up from the airport she asked me which room she gets as she was texting her boss. I advised her she can have the king bed until the other couple gets here then she will have to move rooms to the full size bed. She agreed. She stayed in the king bed for 5 days then when I told her it was time to move as the couple was coming today she proceeded to say it wasn’t fair and that her sister was coming so there is two of them and they will take the king bed. I said I just found out that her sister was coming. She never told when me she was coming or going. She apparently forgot the conversation and tried to change my plans in my house. I was shocked at her behavior. She was so upset I asked her to switch rooms she went to a hotel and said will not come back. Ok. Cool. The entitlement is real. 34 year old lady
I work emergency department as a nurse so my patience for the homeless is zero. But before they disillusioned me, I was a young person in the military, had just gone to a restaurant and had leftovers in a box. A homeless dude comes up begging, I ask if he wants my food. He looks in the box and says no lol.
I spent 2 years homeless after I was crippled in Iraq. I was a medic. I totally agree with you. I never begged, never stole, and never turned down anything anyone offered me. I ate anything I could get, and was thankful. I worded day labor jobs, stayed presentable, showered at Golds Gym with a $20 a month membership, kept my hair and beard nice. People couldn't tell I was homeless. The few times I had to go to the ER I didn't tell them I was homeless. The people who live off social welfare programs are mostly scum, and I wouldn't associate with any of them. There was always a group of us that were vets that stuck together, lived clean, and worked. To this day as far as I know we all got back on our feet. Im a debt free homeowner and farmstead operator now. My friends can be shocked how I act towards homeless people given my past. I tell them they have no idea the types of scummy, useless people that are out there.
The difference between me and Rhianna is she won't go without groceries next week for exposure. I can't afford to accept exposure as payment, or I could end up outside sleeping and die of exposure.
When I was younger I would get approached by strangers on the street asking if I had a cigarette. The hilarious part is when they'd decline the smoke if it wasn't a Newport. A former girlfriend of mine sold a car to a friend/neighbor of hers. The buyer never bothered to get a new title or insurance. My girlfriend would receive speeding tickets in the mail. She finally got the shits of it and drove to this person's house and using a spare key took the car back. A little bit later as we were heading back home she started being followed by police. After a mile or so they turned off and stopped following her. The friend had called the police and reported the car stolen. When they ran the plates and discovered it was still in my gf's name they had to let her go. I wonder how often this happens. Expecting the previous owner to keep the car they sold insured is a whole new level of stupid.
We have a local neighborhood Facebook group. Many beggars on their asking for; food, pet food, clothing, housing, entertainment items, help repairing vehicles, etc. Not only that, they are very specific and picky in what they want. I noticed it was always the same people begging so I just blocked them so I wouldn’t see their posts. Well Facebook now has this feature called anonymous participant so no one can see who the person is that is begging and I can’t block anonymous participants so my feed is overwhelmed with beggars again.
I've seen so many homeless people getting mad that generous citizens are making them lunch and bringing it to them because they only want chipotle or other specific things.
I'm not sure how to take this comment. I share with homeless folks, when I can. It's usually basic Canadian fast food, like MacD's or A&W, but I've never gotten that reaction from anyone. Where I live no one turns down, or complains about, a free burger or fried chicken meal.
Sometimes they’ll reject food because they want the cash but then they often get nothing..a lot of people don’t want to fund someone’s drink or drug habit and I get it. Beggars can’t be choosers!
I placed an add offering two large Bird Cages I added the fact one was in rough shape, one was nearly new. The cages were originally purchased for $ 500.00 each. I offered both for $250 & specific said I would not deliver. A lady asked if I could take $100.00 off & deliver them. I obviously didn’t respond.
Not exactly the same, but almost a decade ago I had some guy try to trade me some gamestop giftcards for cash. I immediately knew it was a scam of some kind, so when he gave me his sob story about needing the cash to buy groceries I offered to go to Walmart with him, since it was right there in the plaza where this happened, and pay his grocery bill. Turns out that he, shockingly, didn't really need those groceries.
I took care of my mom with my wife's help at times for the last 4 yrs she was here. COPD on oxygen 24/7 is hard. She past Sept 2023. Asking for someone to do this for just rent, please go somewhere with yourself, thats insensitive to all involved
Funny and very scary they didn't ask for qualifications or license or mention a thorough background check (not that means anything. Many people are under the radar or are just let go or quit from other jobs they failed at.). That's hard work and skilled work and not for some random who needs a free place to stay.
My mom has emphysema and copd. I take care of her and I'm 41. It can be really hard on me and I feel terrible because I feel selfish and resentful sometimes. I love her so much but I never thought I'd have to give up my life to take care of her.
I was always taught, you go to DMV, sign over the title and hand it in, pay the $15 for the title transfer BEFORE giving it to the new owner. That accident victim can still sue you...
my daughter daughter was so moved by the “homeless” people in her college town that she made them some homemade chocolate chip cookies, using the finest ingredients as I had taught her, including real butter. when she went to give them out to people there, they looked puzzled and asked if she had any weed or money instead. That really opened her eyes. 😆
I had one ask for a couple of dollars. I gave a handful of change. She chucked it all HARD on to the ground, and it scattered all over. She yelled "I SAID A COUPLE OF DOLLARS" and then stormed off. My husband and I spent the time to pick most of it back up, and it had easily added up to more than a few dollars. I get that it's a mental thing for these people, but it's a terrible feeling to be treated in such a way while trying to give.
@@Tea_W She was shocked at first, but later learned it makes a funny story. She went on to become a NP in mental health, of all things, and spends her days helping people. She’s very compassionate.
I ran a daycare for 10 years worked there right out of highschool and eventually bought it. Pople don't realize the money that goes into ruining a legal daycare. We fed them breakfast lunch and 2 snacks, and if they had more then one kid we only charged half price for each additional kid, had to pay staff and the state, plus so the training etc. But every week at least one person would make comments about how much money we make based on the amount of kids we had and what we charge🤦🤣
In 2021 I had a staph infection that almost killed me. In 2022 I was finally diagnosed with lupus after 6 years of being un/misdiagnosed. I ran out of finances during this time because I couldn’t work. I finally had to go to the food pantry starting in 2023. I still feel guilty when I take out the unhealthy food that the pantry gives me. Pantries have a lot of food like that, and I have to be careful with what I eat as lupus has many health risks. But I always apologize to the volunteers letting them know I appreciate them. I really don’t understand this entitlement. You even see it at the pantry where people are disrespectful of the volunteers.
That's a weird daycare. When my kids did go, the payments only accepted were auto deduction. They also were in advance of the care. If you did not pay you key in to drop your kid off wouldn't work. There were a couple parents who'd try to sneak in behind me. I grabbed the door and told them no, read the sign, all parents must use their own key in.
We are military and shipped a car from the Middle East to Maryland. I got insurance on it the day before we went and picked it up. Good thing i did because the car has to have less than 1/4 tank of gas when shipping so my husband drove it directly to the closest gas station. He was leaving when a car hit him 🤦♀️ never leave anywhere without insurance on a car.
Hospice care is covered by Medicare which I am sure an 89 year old granny has. The problem is what that man was requesting is not hospice care. He wants a free 24/7 PCA. GET REAL!!
I don't give cash to "beggars". I ran into a guy going into the supermarket and ended up buying him Wendy's. I told him I don't give cash and we chatted. A few weeks later I ran into him and he wanted cash. I told him the deal, and he got pissy. FU buddy.
Yeah it's very low in my area as well. I had all 3 of my step daughters in day care when I got pregnant because it was a VERY rough pregnancy and I almost lost her more times than I can count. It was honestly terrifying. Anyway this was almost 8 years ago now and it was a little over 100 per kid daily basically. Can't imagine it's gone down these days......thankfully not a necessity these days because there is NO WAY to fit that in the budget these days.
This is crazy imo. I don't see how anyone could even afford to work if you're paying $500+ to put your kids in childcare. That would barely leave enough for gas to get to work, in my area. How are you supposed to have anything left over for rent or bills?! When I was growing up, in the 90s, my mom paid $75 a week. My babysitter kept me from after school until 1am. She fed me supper and bathed me, then put me to bed. My mom would pick me up and in the mornings before school my mom would go over homework with me. All I'm saying is these prices for babysitters is outrageous. Just because you're babysitting in a building, with other people also babysitting, doesn't mean you're anything more than a babysitter. You're a glorified babysitter. If you can afford it, good for you. But, this is exactly why people can't afford to work.
As a hairdresser... No! Why wouldn't she ask her regular hairdresser to help her out with a freebie? Oh, because she can afford everything else in her life yet want a cut/foils for free. We do freebies for family and friends... We don't need strangers who can afford $200, 000 on legal bills but can't pay for their hair added into the mix. Ugh.
I’m in shock that the mom of the daycare kid was flipping out over a $25/week increase when inflation is as crazy as it is when daycare is feeding the kids two meals a day and her son loves his teacher! That’s not even a huge increase for a person in her child’s life who IS very important!
@@lizadoesray When you have children you have to either have one parent available to stay home with them or pay for someone to care for them. Compared to other daycare prices, $300 is cheap!
Some kids got together and donated the money they had and then went to the store to buy supplies to make sack lunches. The money they had every week was different so some lunches had peanut butter and jelly and a banana other weeks they had meat and cheese, chips and fruit and cookies then they went to the park to hand them to homeless people. These were middle school kids several years ago so it wasn’t so dangerous. The homeless wanted to know what it was. They didn’t want it if it didn’t have meat. They were picky homeless.
About the daycare one, the increased rate of $60/day is only $7.50/hour for an 8 hour day. I absolutely would not watch someone's child for $7.50/hour, and I definitely wouldn't be able to include any meals at that rate. And the kid is probably there longer than 8 hours because the mom probably works 8 hours so you'd have to consider the extra time needed for driving. Groceries are expensive so the mom is really lucky that meals and snacks are included and even luckier because she has a daycare provider that her son loves! If she pulls her kid out, I'm sure that spot would be taken immediately by someone else who is smart enough to see that's a great rate. (I was making almost that much to babysit when I was a teenager and I'm almost 50 now. And the parents provided the food, not me. Lol)
I had the same issue once. I gave away a not that old lawnmower that needed some maintenance, but my husband is not mechanically minded. I had dozens of inquiries and some people claimed I was a scammer because they didn't get it and were mad about it.
I ran a massive Coca-Cola warehouse. Daily, we would bring back dozens of cases of product that were close to expiration. My big boss told me to give it to our employees, free. To dispose of sugary soda costs way more than the product. I had one guy that would load up his truck, and was selling it to all his neighbors. We're talking 20 cases per day. It got ugly. He was making a couple of thousand dollars per month doing this.
@@JohnSmith-j2j - He ruined it for everyone. Coca-Cola stopped give it away, for EVERYONE, and we paid to have it disposed of. Soda, with sugar, is a hazardous material, and costs way more to dispose of than to produce.
Sold my car. Six months later my insurance company called and said someone was in an accident in the car and claimed it was insured. The new owner found an old expired insurance card of mine in the car and was trying to say I was insuring the car for her. I'd cancelled that insurance at the time of sale. New owner just trying to game the cops.
My wife and I ended up becoming caregivers for her grandfather when we were homeless and it was a huge stepping stone to the small measure of success we've found so far. We are still there ATM, but we have a daughter, I now have a career in a skilled trade, and a small business building electric skateboards. We hope to make it so Grandpa can die in his own house. Or at least keep him home as long as possible. Thnx Lushes.
Last year in my local Facebook group I noticed a lady asking for shoes for her daughters. I messaged her n told her I didn’t have any shoes but if she gave me sizes I would go n buy them a pair each. She was super grateful so I ended up buying them a pair of school shoes plus a pair of sandals each. I think I only spent about £30. I told her when I offered that I don’t drive so she’ll have to pick them up once they’d been delivered. It took her a whole week to fetch them which I thought was a bit weird as she seemed so desperate in the original post but whatever, I didn’t think too much of it. The very next morning, not even 12 hours later she messaged me asking to borrow £50! 😂😂😂😂 to say I was gobsmacked is an understatement lmao 😂
When CBs and entitled people bring out the "I'll get my lawyer on this!" card. I work at a law firm and a large part of my family are lawyers, they always get a kick out of it.
As a health care worker the post about a live in care taker was wild to me. I work about 40 hours a week and make around 2,000 a month, and this person would be basically working around the clock for rent(for a room in a finished basement that’d be worth maybe $600 a month) and how would this person make any money for themselves if they’re caring for this older woman 24/7? Ugh people are so frustrating.
Well about the woman looking for a hair stylistn who's husband's hiding your daughter from you... THERES A REASON WHY NO CONTACT... JUST HOW CRAZY ARE YOU!???
I just had to share something I saw the other day. Chubby homeless lady with a sign that said "NEED $$$$ FOR BEER AND MCDONALDS". As a full time student paying for all my own stuff after working years to save up and currently not indulging in such "pleasures" myself, I think I may have given a nasty look because she put the sign down as I passed. lol
@oblonghas Hey at least she’s being honest. I’ve seen tons of people holding up “veteran” signs when they aren’t.and usually you’ll see a lot more people giving them money. I don’t like liars
Several years ago I was visiting family in Indianapolis. One night we went downtown to check out the mall. Walking down the very crowded street, we came across a very obviously homeless guy holding a sign that said, "why lie? I want beer." I was so amused I actually laughed and decided to give him $5 and told him it was because I appreciated his honesty. 🤣😂
I had just finished lunch at a fancy downtown restaurant and was taking delicious leftovers home when I passed a guy holding a "Will Work for Food" sign. When I offered him my gourmet leftovers (instead of cash), he said, "Nah, I'm full." Wha?!?!?!
I know a couple that got flooded a couple of years back. They put up a go-fund-me for repairs. But get this, she is an heiress, has multiple millions, and is asking for money.
As someone who was actually homeless not due to my fault (COVID); I feel ANGRY. Get right with the rice and beans like the rest of us! That is food to keep people alive, not ....entertained. I only ever saw one human being pick up a box at a food bank, and start going through it for what was "good enough for her." Oh, no. The staff was shocked, but the other people lined up set her straight. You grab the box, you say thank you, and you go home. You will live for another week. Good luck with the "good enough for me" attitude.
I never give money to the homeless anymore. One day I was on a delivery in my car, windows down and this homeless guy sees my pizza bag and straight up asks if he can have the delivery cause he's hungry. I laugh and say sorry, I already finished the delivery and it's an empty bag. He then asks for money. I said sorry again, but the money I was holding was a work float, and not actually my money. He got extremely angry and started cussing me out telling me my boss wouldn't mind. I told him my boss was an extreme cheapskate and he definitely would, but what I had in my car was a dollar and a wendys coupon that would let him get a cheeseburger for 2 dollars. He looked at me like I was stupid and actually said, "How the hell can I buy a 2 dollar burger for 1 dollar? This is completely worthless". He crumpled the coupon, literally threw it in my face, and turned and threw my loonie as far as he could, cussed me out, spit on my car, and walked away.
Before my dear mom went into hospice, me and my brothers took turns taking care of her for a year. She raised me, lost her way to early she was 53yrs and definitely hated us having to help her with specific things…😢 but pay it forward, take care of your licked ones until you absolutely cannot. I was grateful I had a normal amazing mother growing up. Again sorry for rambling have not been to sleep off a 14hr shift lol kinda spaced out
New subscriber. I paid $50 for a man to deliver an appliance he was giving away. It was 2 miles, his time, & his labor to help my Husband load & unload. It was well worth it & we were all happy
A friend of mine asked for $100 to help pay her bills. She was a new mom, and a good friend, so I did. Then she asked one week later, for another $100 to pay her bills. I asked, "What happened to money I gave you?" She answered, "I gave it to a friend of mine." No other reasoning, just that she was trying to "pay it forward", and figured she could just ask me again. Her husband was under the same impression. When he spent money gambling, he said, "Just ask havinghope for another $100." I had literally just given them money one time, when she begged me, as a new mom, saying her bills were in dire straits, and that gave them the impression that I was a money tree for them to just re-ask. My answer: *Absolutely not.* They probably never did pay those bills.
As someone who’s struggling financially because of medical debt and being diagnosed with RA these people just piss me off!! I would just be happy with help and not be so entitled. I can’t believe the audacity of people asking for everything for free
My son's daycare in Florida was great with food. They had a full kitchen and basically a chef because all she did was cook and do the clean up after meals. She would come in before the daycare opened to cook like pancakes and eggs, but they also had cereal if the kids preferred that. Then she would cook a full lunch like meat and vegetables, lasagna, etc... It was great! I believe it's because Florida has a food program so they received money from the state to buy all the food.
Hospice is very different then in home care. Hospice helps the family medically with their final months until death. I do in home care that is mostly direct care for people who need assistance with their daily needs so people can stay in their home. Many are not in hospice and diagnosed to die within 6 months from a terminal illness I currently have 3 patients 2 with dementia. Having dementia aside of any medical issues they have is hard enough on it's own. And nobody should be asked to care for a person in need of round the clock care in exchange for rent. No matter if they are mobile or not these patients are in need of some sort of constant care. Many times they can't cook clean or even dress themselves without help even if they are mobile. I can only imagine that person not being mobile needing much more work to maintain their heath. That all was ridiculous
Anyone expecting round the clock care from someone living at the persons home, should be paid and live there for free. I don’t understand people’s want and need to cheap out on the most important aspects of life with care for the elderly or children.
@@jennifermarlow. And that's making the problem worse. Having people become an in home caregiver for just room and board is not helping with fixing the issue of people being poor because they are not being paid. They would be paid alot more then what it costs for a room and utilities for 8 hours of on home care. Only offering rooms and board is taking advantage of the homeless at that point
On average probably not but you’d be surprised. Especially with how crazy the car market AND inflation are. Even people who are well off are switching to used cars bc of the insane mark up prices and crazy interest rates on vehicles even with good credit. But yeah on average you’re probably right. There’s just a whole lot more people buying used vehicles now after covid compared to before
I gave a caravan away for free. I had a nut asking me to deliver it. When they eventually arranged to pick it up they brought a brand new high end range rover. They left negative feedback on Facebook market place because I didn't reply to messages "immediately". I drive for a living so don't touch my phone when driving.
Stepson in college. We give him money as he needs. He’s on our phone plan, and we pay the monthly. He’s got a defunct car parked on our property. He lives rent free in our house during summer internship. No problem. He’s a great student and almost done with Engineering degree. He asked if he could take a deal to update his phone on the plan at no cost to us. I asked if it would raise our bill. He said no. It doubled the cost of his line. It’s not the money as much as, I don’t appreciate being lied to. There is no reason to lie.
About that lady that wanted her hair done for court, I'm thinking she has a drinking problem. Her post said, "I'm $200,000 into a custody BOTTLE..." Lady, switch to Gallo!
I build custom furniture and sell it on Etsy, Facebook, and my own website. I have standard dimension products for listing that can be ordered straight through ( some free shipping, some not ) and I offer customs dimensions if they message me. It still amazes me that people that the price is higher than the listing price for a custom product and get seriously upset that I charge for shipping and the custom dimensions specific to their homes and needs.
I do hvac and it blows me away how people want you to work for free. They’ll pay someone else, but want you to do it for free. I don’t do this work for fun
YES! My husband is retired Maintenace mechanic, and I told him he has to *fully stop* telling people what he used to do for work, because every conversation turns into "Oh I have something you can fix" as though my husband is going to get a big grin and start hopping up and down saying "Oh goodie!" 🤣
My done with FB Marketplace moment was when I put a bunch of baby clothes for free, three people responded. I split the clothes, clearly labeled them per recipient, and put them in distinct piles on my porch.... first person came and took them all. Didn't realize until person 2 showed up. I was done after that.
The most ungrateful people are those who have never had to struggle. The impression I get is that these people have never had to face adversity in their entire lives. They think they are owed things. The rest of us know otherwise.
All of this reminds me of the video of the guy offering another guy who looks to be homeless some clothes and the homeless-looking (who says he isn't homeless) guy wants to know what brand - while standing there with a straight face, wiping his a$$.
I’m an artist and you would not believe how many people assume I would be thrilled to produce a custom piece for free. And always the “but it’s free exposure”…🤬
60 dollars seems too low to me to take care of other people's kids 😂 That "mom" saying the teacher wasn't that important, yet she has to drop the kid off at a daycare. Alright, then leave your kid at home all day alone if she's so unimportant 😂
$60!? I’ve seen daycares for close to $100 for a day! The daycare my aunt and uncle made my little cousins go to was almost $90 a day! $60!? That’s a steal! Also kids are expensive to provide for! They also need to realize the $60 does not go into the pocket of the person watching the kids! That’s a fee for everything in daycare! and if you’re gonna watch someone else’s little kids and have to deal with the occasional little brats you gotta get a lot of money. I’ve worked as a babysitter and done some free daycare services. and my mother in law is a daycare teacher. We have so many story’s of stupid kids and monster children we had to watch. I’m NEVER working in babysitting or daycare again unless I’m making a ton of money! It’s not worth the time and effort to watch someone’s spoiled brat or monster child if they are going to be like that! Don’t get me wrong There are plenty of well behaved children, but ohhh there is waaaaay more bad children to make up for it! Ya get 1 good child for every 3-4 bad ones! And 1 horrible child for every 4-10…
This isn't quite the same, but I had a lodger who was a royal pain in the ass. Our first falling-out happened one day when I ate two of her bananas. When I returned from the shop with a couple of replacement bananas, she demanded that I take them back and replace them with organic bananas. I told her to not to be so petty, and things went downhill from there, and I ended up evicting her a few months later.
I've had to deal with people like this so many times. It's like when people look at me they feel like I'm to nice to say No and that was true for a while but I have 2 rules now. 1. If it seems genuine that they need to borrow money I will gladly lend them $20. That way if you don't pay me back it only cost me $20 to find out you're an @sshole.😂 2. If I know you're in active addiction or homeless and say they need money for food or hygiene products I will gladly make a bag with food etc and offer them that. It's a quick way to see if these people are trying to use me. Most of the time they say never mind or ghost me or just call me profanity which I don't mind cuz now I know to never help them again too. Just 2 quick ways to see people's motives. 😂❤
I ignore and block people on FB marketplace who ask for ridiculous things like for me to deliver a FREE couch when I specifically stated in the ad that I have no vehicle and you must come get it. I don’t have the time or patience to try to do what their parents never did and teach them the ways of the world.
Had these kids wanting me to pay for a carfax for the car I was selling so they would maybe buy it. Also had a dude ask me to deliver a bed I was asking $150 for five hours away. It would've cost me money to sell it to him between gas, and food not to mention wear on the truck.

How hard would it have been for you to at least rinse them off BEFORE posting your ad though?
@@g2whatbrodie283they were free?
If I saw she had those cars there I would turn back immediately without even talking, scammers and liars don't deserve my free stuff and my attention.
Wow that’s crazy
Doesn’t sound like they were begging but ok…

Friends want you to succeed...they'll pay extra. What you're describing there aren't friends.
Couldn't you have used leftover parts from all the other fences 😂😂😂
Those are probably the people who choose to be homeless. You know life is getting twisted when homeless people have demands.
You missed massively negligent people. they will look at your kid as just some cash and ignore during the day.
Bro, I would have gladly taken all of that! I only would have been sad that there was no flour to make bread so I could have eggs and toast! 😂
some people just love to complain for complaining sake
Who is surprised they still have to wrk in their 50’s?
One guy on FB marketplace wanted to come and stay at my place because he wanted to buy my item but lived 5 hours away. Yuuuhhh.. no
Eek! That is scary! People are crazy!
What yes that’s a big no & block.

Wait wait wait... That one lady asking for the highlights doesn't even know if her daughter is alive and she's asking random people online to do her hair? Doesn't she have more important things to worry about than her highlights?
Wouldn't want to look bad at the funeral
When friends ask for help moving because they need a truck and/or trailer. All I ask is for them to cover gas if it is a bit of a drive and have everything packed up and ready to go when I arrive. I'll help you move things out and into your new place, but I'm not spending 6+ hours packing up your entire appartement. I've had people try and argue with me like I was the one asking for a favor.
The worst is when you're always down to help people move but when you need help moving a couch or other heavy item everyone is busy.
Lol whenever people ask to use my truck it’s ‘making a funny noise’
Neighbour had a bathroom leaky tap i offered to come over and together we could fix it. She says i won't be home Tuesday so you could do it then. I said i don't do the repair i will help you do it. She didn't want to learn a new skill so i suppose she paid to have the tap fixed not my issue
So...I have never heard of a mother losing a custody battle because her highlights had gotten brassy and her roots had grown out.
And she could always box dye.
Right, hilarious that the fact that having your hair freshly dyed isn’t a necessity for court wasnt even a point in their discussion lol
I'm pretty sure the judge isn't going to hold her roots showing and her lack of highlights against her.
Her priorities and focus are twisted. Highlights seems the least of her worries. I'm thinking the father might be the stable parent.
Judge "Ma'am I was going to rule in you favor but because of your hair I can't allow you to care for a child" Vain woman "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"

My husband’s sister don’t speak to me and I’m good with that.
never help them. there are plenty of places they get fed for free. and they get welfare
@@m.danonbains3423and you’re still married to this “man”? Literally why?
It was nice, they were not.
Good luck 🍀

Just do the math. Thats at least 1k a month per kid. 50 kids would be 50k a month. Somebody is making bank.

I visit a lot of people and I'm thankful for a couch or a cot. Asking for someone's personal bed is just insane!
Yup sounds about right, I bought flea collers and dog food for a homeless person that had dogs.He said nope, its not name brand you can keep it.

I'm glad she had a spare key.

my daughter daughter was so moved by the “homeless” people in her college town that she made them some homemade chocolate chip cookies, using the finest ingredients as I had taught her, including real butter. when she went to give them out to people there, they looked puzzled and asked if she had any weed or money instead. ‘Beggars can’t be choosers’. Something I learned as a child.
Indeed. Those workers work so hard!
55 bucks a day for childcare seems low as shit
That is! It’s way more than that for me in the UK and we got to a reasonably priced one 😅
Averages $100/day (per child) in my Province, extra for children with disabilities but that's usually covered by the government.
Thats actually on the high end. I pay $120/wk for a state accredited daycare. Don't live in big blue/socialist areas lol

I’m in shock that the mom of the daycare kid was flipping out over a $25/week increase when inflation is as crazy as it is when daycare is feeding the kids two meals a day and her son loves his teacher! That’s not even a huge increase for a person in her child’s life who IS very important!
$300 is a lot if you’re making 400 or $500 a week

Lol)

As a full time student paying for all my own stuff after working years to save up and currently not indulging in such "pleasures" myself, I think I may have given a nasty look because she put the sign down as I passed. lol
At least she was honest.
Will take the honesty anyday.woupd probably grab her a 6 and a few value menu items.
Watching this while cooking lunch for the daycare I work at!
I asked, "What happened to money I gave you?" She answered, "I gave it to a friend of mine."
No other reasoning, just that she was trying to "pay it forward", and figured she could just ask me again.
Her husband was under the same impression. When he spent money gambling, he said, "Just ask havinghope for another $100."
I had literally just given them money one time, when she begged me, as a new mom, saying her bills were in dire straits, and that gave them the impression that I was a money tree for them to just re-ask.
My answer: *Absolutely not.*
They probably never did pay those bills.
Nobody who buys a "as is" vehicle has a lawyer let alone an entire legal team.
I was done after that.
please do more of these, hilarious!
Love to watch you guys
NOBODY gets me and my husbands bed! 😂 that is outrageous
The most ungrateful people are those who have never had to struggle. The impression I get is that these people have never had to face adversity in their entire lives. They think they are owed things. The rest of us know otherwise.
If those guests were mine, I'd show them a king size......room at Motel 6
All of this reminds me of the video of the guy offering another guy who looks to be homeless some clothes and the homeless-looking (who says he isn't homeless) guy wants to know what brand - while standing there with a straight face, wiping his a$$.
I’m an artist and you would not believe how many people assume I would be thrilled to produce a custom piece for free. And always the “but it’s free exposure”…🤬
As an underpaid artist who also likes to clean and organize, i empathize with people who just want to be paid fairly for services rendered. 🎉
That’s why ‘starving artist’ hits home for us. Nobody says ‘starving plumber’ or ‘starving RUclips star’!
In home hospice care costs thousands a month. These people are looking for someone to do it for the price of a room rental.
60 dollars seems too low to me to take care of other people's kids 😂
That "mom" saying the teacher wasn't that important, yet she has to drop the kid off at a daycare.
5:30 It's starting to sound like ads here in Alberta....oh...Calgary 🤣🤣🤣
Had these kids wanting me to pay for a carfax for the car I was selling so they would maybe buy it. Also had a dude ask me to deliver a bed I was asking $150 for five hours away. It would've cost me money to sell it to him between gas, and food not to mention wear on the truck.
She actually posted she was in a custody bottle. This actually makes more sense. LOL
