    I love that sentiment about growing our maps, seeing more places and learning more about the world. It's a beautiful way to travel, as well, because on motorbikes you can see all around you and you really feel the weather and the seasons and the road. You smell the pine trees or the forest. You watch the sky bloom with clouds. Loving these videos Sam!

      Thanks Paul! That was something I read in a Ted Simon book, and it's totally true. The smells and the temperature are a huge deal. You're out in the elements. The world is hitting you right in the chest 😂 I love it.

    Heartbreaking to see some of those places hit by storms, I hope they recover quickly because your travel logs make the entire country look awesome. A lot of it does remind me of what I've seen of Hawaii, some of the names of places too. It's not the first time seeing you without the beanie, but it's so iconic at this point (and practical, especially with all that sun!). A while a ago you kinda influenced me to stop wasting money on my rapidly decreasing follicle count in favor of the occasional beanie too. (well, the back of my head on the security camera helped.) The whole thinking about charging thing would be much less of a problem if there were just more charging slots instead of 2-4 spaces of a 200 car parking lot. Just wire up the whole place for Pete's sake!

    • @NewZeroland
      @NewZeroland  Год назад +3

      Right?? We need more charging spots asap. I've heard it's a battle with the city councils because they don't want to sacrifice any normal parking spots. I'll talk about the politics in a later video, because NZ had a pretty ridiculous meeting about this topic and it's worth sharing 😂 Regarding lack of hair.. mine started thinning out when I was 27. It felt like the end of the world, but I didn't want to slowly bald over time. I took control of my own destint and shaved it off 😁 The beanie has been me pretending that never happened for the past 11 years haha.

    Gabrielle was the name of the most gentle-hearted character in that 'epic' NZ tv series Xena Warrior Princess so I think it was a bit of an inappropriate name for such an agressive cyclone.
    Thanks for these epic videos, Sam & Jen. I hope the landscape can soon restore to how it was when you visited, and that local people can get up on their feet again. Friends of mine have lost everything in the Auckland floodings and it's just so heart-breaking to feel their pain...
