Cubemaps are actually quite complex if you as creator want to do stuff. If you don't care, you'll get decent result, but you can change resolution of individual cubemaps on your map, somewhat change how reflections look on textures with tinting and "saturation" of an effect. I really hope to see more cubemaps stuff on Gmod, but yeah, it conflicts with Phong shader as I remember, and that thing is fabulous too, so I hope someday they can be used together
phong iirc in gmod is broken when displayed on brushes sadly, however, specular and phong work perfectly on models, and despite gmod's age, you can get some amazing stuff.

The textures don't look like an improvement at all if I'm being honest. All it does is up-res the detail texture while keeping the base texture at the same resolution. The change doesn't even look noticeable unless you stick the camera right up to it.
The reflections on the other hand do look pretty good.

I dunno those replacement textures just look like they took the original textures, applied some filters then layered on an extra dirt texture. It looks too much like 2 textures overlaid with a fuzzy low res texture underneath and it's just kinda makes more of a highlight of how low res the textures really are... not that they're really even that bad. They certainly have a vibe.

Hello! I am curious on what other people do in GMod except making npcs fight or fighting those npcs.
1. I am looking for something else to do in GMod
2. I am looking for a mod that is for building bases like props and also traps and defending stuffs.
Get the Lidar game mode, don't be surprised that you can't find your way around maps, the mod also flips the maps lol.
You can also disable the spooky feature it has if you get scared, the commands to disable that are on a link in the description in the workshop.
