What a wonderful existence. Question: are there property taxes in Japan and if so, how much? Many times in the US we manage to pay off our homes as we age only to be priced out by high property taxes.
Yep, there are no longer any states in the US that have zero property tax. You will always have to pay the government at least a few thousand a year to own a home/land, which means you never really own anything and cannot really be free. But I suppose that's mostly irrelevant because corporations like BlackRock have purchased almost every open land/home in the US and have manipulated the market so that most people cannot afford anything anyway. Even rent is too expensive these days so we're basically being priced out of living. I'm considering moving to another country like the Philippines because the USA is becoming an unaffordable and terrible place to live.
