Marvellous work by all those engineers. I am also sure that their leaders would've discussed and arrived at projections NOT based on just past rainfall and seepage data but would've extrrapolated to 10 times the current climate change effects and related data from the world's worst affected regions, as a cautionary starting point. I am sure these project leaders would've looked into all those possibilities and when it goes operational, it will bea huge blessing to Mumbaikars. I've applied this concept with ventilation systems, when I was working on an electrical energy project. It is possible but the cost to energy output ratio is very high ie the amount of energy generated will be more expensive than even regular Windmills. Wind Turbines are wayy more cost efficient, and their output is much higher. Apart from that, the speed of the fan decreases when you harness energy from it. The fan will move slower if it's rotational kinetic energy is being converted to electrical energy. I still might have the ppt with graphs and videos showing the working of this system. Lmk if you're curious.

Mumbai metro is technically more sound, clean and Superior.
Those who travel in Kolkata metro 🤮🤮,feel ashamed and inferior about themselves when they come in front of Mumbai metro travellers
India’s first completely underground??? Are you kidding me? Please go and visit Kolkata 🤦🏼♂️ They had it since 1980’s
Please note Kolkata has the first complete underground Metro and is there since last few decades
All you jealous and ignorant Bengalis should be put together in an Indian transportation class with a strict teacher then you'll know what's what. Mumbai has the first fully underground metro railway system in India. No other city in India has fully underground metro.
Congratulations Mumbai
Marvellous work by all those engineers. I am sure extra caution and solutions would've been factored in, considering that climate change is/will cause unpredictable and unprecedented challenges to all infra. Kudos to the team and the central and state agencies behind the project. 👏👏
I think Kolkata got India s first underground Metro way back.
Absolutely stunning effort
Eagerly waiting for the start !
India's first underground metro?? have you ever heard of kolkata metro ?? 🤦🤦
India's first underground metro is in Kolkata. Kuch bhi bolre ho 👏👏Sabash
India's 1st underground metro is in kolkata. It is working from 1991
Kolkata is not 100% underground metro. Kolkata metro has 8 elevated and 1 at grade station. while Mumbai colaba metro will have all route and all stations underground and thats why its called completely underground metro.
MMRC congratulations great work
If this is India's first completely underground metro then what is Kolkata's... It was started in 1984 when even the seed of CNBC TV 18 wasn't around... The whole country was simply fantasizing about metro when we were enjoying metro rides... Please get your facts right and then put the headlines...
And now you are pelting stones on trains ..good progress.... 😂
No because Dumdum, noapara, kavi Subhas are not Underground stations... This line is Completely underground.

good job central govt, although mumbai still needs birth control, an underground railway in such a congested city is pushing its soil strength to the limit
This line is operated by MMRCL which is JV between GOM and GOI not just GOI. And who told you mumbai needs birth control? Just stop the supply of migrants from up bihar, population will come down automatically.
Mumbai Metro, should always pay for the regular cleanliness, upkeep of their metro stations and metro lines, and conduct weekly fire alarm and evacuation tests and also include monthly maintenance and cleanliness of their metro stations and lines.

Good reporter. So simple explanation without raising voice n shouting.

We Kolkatians having since 90’s 😂
Ramp safety measures are not in DMRC's metro tunnels
How is it India's first...I thought Calcutta had a complete underground metro since 1984, until recently they decided to take it underwater as well.
Wrong information India's 1st Under ground metro was in Kolkata
I hope and pray that this underground system withstands Mumbai monsoon🙏
Don't say India's First Underground Metro, 1st one is Kolkata Metro. Further Chennai Central Station has been connected with Airport, Lucknow Railway Station has been too. Kolkata Dumdum Railway Station is going to Connect with Airport. So don't say 1st in India.
For kind u information Kolkata metro is not a fully underground
This is a metro line which entire station on that line is fully underground not tow or three station so please see a difference then reply and here no body no about Chennai
@@gauravbhagat1744 Get your fact right the first metro line was "fully underground", this is not google fact its a daily passenger who travel Dumdum to Toullygaunj daily
Why does it feel like the whole video is shot in early 90's 😂😂.

For your kind information the first ever underground metro was already introduced in 1984 in the eastern megapolis in KOLKATA.
Congratulation mumbai .
Great reporting Ma'am!
Kudos to the each & every person who was involved in this achievement, in such a short span. ❤
Kolkata had it way long back
How this is India's First Completely Underground Metro. We used to have that in Kolkata initially.
I guess since Dum Dum etc were not underground, they didn't consider this.

It's not India's first completely underground metro. The first completely underground metro was started in Kolkata in the 80's. It's started from Tollygunge to Esplanade 4-5 stations in between. Later it was expanded from Esplanade to Dum Dum. The entire stretch from Tollygunge to Dum Dum is underground. Now it has been further extended on both side but not underground.
Kolkata is not 100% underground metro. Kolkata metro has 8 elevated and 1 at grade station. while Mumbai colaba metro will have all route and all stations underground and thats why its called completely underground metro.

India's first all underground metro was introduced in Kolkata about 35 years ago. Get your facts right.😃
I've always been curious can't the ventilation fans be used to generate electricity similar to what wind turbines do?
That's miniscule energy bro
I've applied this concept with ventilation systems, when I was working on an electrical energy project.
It is possible but the cost to energy output ratio is very high ie the amount of energy generated will be more expensive than even regular Windmills. Wind Turbines are wayy more cost efficient, and their output is much higher.
Apart from that, the speed of the fan decreases when you harness energy from it. The fan will move slower if it's rotational kinetic energy is being converted to electrical energy.
I still might have the ppt with graphs and videos showing the working of this system. Lmk if you're curious.
I would like to see how this under ground tunnel survives in monsoon 🌧🌧
Let's hope for best.
Damn...! This is brilliant journalism by CNBC! 👍🏻

The first metro that started in Kolkata was in 1984. This is line one now. It was completely underground till 2000. After that two extensions were made that were above ground.
The other lines are above ground except the East West one which is again under ground partly and also under the river.
Good good example of civil Engineering,
All the best,

Real test of this underground metro will be in the rainy season
This will be second lifeline for mumbaikar. So much relief only a mumbaikar know the daily struggle of reaching office to and fro on time. Thanks to Shinde and Fadnavis. The work in last 6 month is going at great speed after 2.5 years of dull period.
Feeling like idiot that i was not knowing about this till now. Great work under such extreme engineering challenges
Very challenging project full line underground. And good presenting this video.
