So last week, I took the plunge and my new Instant Pot arrived. Not pointing any fingers but looking at you Susan! 😉 I've used the air fryer mode once. Pressure cooked three times with a bit of a "Goldilocks" experience. My rice dish could have done with a little more water in my opinion, so too little water. The curry, too much water! But today I made pasta and it was just right!!! I could barely believe it, I sauteed onions and garlic, added everything else (veg, herbs, pasta sauce, water) together with uncooked fusilli pasta and it was ready in 5 minutes!😯 (Did a pulsed pressure release a minute later)
🤣sorry about that. Yes timings are really different dependent on so many things (including even your altitude for pressure cooking) so just keep experimenting til Goldilocks is happy 😊
@@CookingandCalm Yes I've heard you mention altitude before. I haven't timed it but it seems to get to pressure relatively quickly. I think next time I'll try 1 and 1/4 cups of water for the rice. I also may need to invest in a non-slip platform/step to reach! ☺
You are so welcome Cathy! It works so well. Those big ice cube trays are one of my favourite buys ever for batch cooking, but I must admit, the freezer looks a bit like a nasa spacecraft with all my cubes stacked together :)
Thanks for this great recipe 👍 Where did you get the little tray that you used to freeze your portions of Ragu please? I love it! 🙂 Scrap that question above. I've just seen that you've shared the link. Thank you 🤗
@@CookingandCalm yes, I'm in South Wales. I've ordered those trays. They are going to be so useful and will cut down on my plastic usage. Thanks for sharing them 🙂👍
You're welcome Tina. I was just going to say that Lakeland have something similar but you're all sorted. They really are brilliant as you can pop out your 'bricks' and they fit in a really space saving way in the freezer then you're silicon trays are ready to go again whenever you're ready! Enjoy.
I wondered if it might also work to have separate frozen blocks of sauce plus some frozen meatballs. Do you think that using a similar method would be ok?
Hi Donna, I don't see why not. If the meatballs are uncooked I'd be tempted to seal them before pressure cooking by giving a quick sauté or (if you have a Crisp), to air fry them at the end to caramelise a bit. I'd use an instant read thermometer to check they're cooked through the first time just in case. I guess there's a chance they may fall apart but there's only one way to find out... Come back and tell me how you get on if you've time
ooh look at those observation skills! I sense a fellow coffee lover. You're very close but it's the Hario Switch. We bought a Clever for a friend at Xmas and they absolutely love it :)

2:36 Is that a clever dripper (for coffee) on your back counter?
