As part of the prestigious BBC Four Sessions, soul legend Van Morrison performs a special concert which was recorded at LSO St Luke's in London.
In the exclusive session, Van showcases tracks from his new album, Keep It Simple, and older favourites such as Magic Time and Vanlose Stairway. He is backed by a full band and joined by special guests: guitarist Mick Green and organ maestro Georgie Fame.
The performance is an uplifting demonstration of why Van Morrison is still "The Man".

Van Morrison, OBE (born George Ivan Morrison; 31 August 1945) is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and musician. His live performances at their best are regarded as transcendental and inspired; while some of his recordings, such as the studio albums Astral Weeks and Moondance, and the live album It's Too Late to Stop Now, are widely viewed as among the greatest ever made.

thing about playing/singing live, don't have the luxury of studio tricks of add ons & edits, ur strongest suit is cohesiveness, not the word or concept, but feeling your way, the highs & lows, the way it gets quieter or slower, then rising , the swoops, the jumps...the stops

No need to apologize, I have had the words "ad nauseam" tossed at me since the late 60's for playing every Van song at every occasion. There are so many topics he has covered that it's easy to put a song to whatever conversation you're having . I literally can't get enough of him...

We FINALLY saw him, at the Forest Hills tennis stadium in Queen, NYC, in September. It drizzled but no one noticed. Van had taken us above the clouds.

There’s very few compliments you could bestow up on Mr. Morrison. That I wouldn’t agree with. If any? I’ve always stated Bob Dylan to the second greatest songwriter who ever lived. Behind , only to the Good Shepherd David. I also hold Mr. Morrison as the greatest singer of my lifetime. And, I promise! Long before I turned 63. I listened to a lot of them. And, I know there are many I’ve never heard. But, aren’t we all biased about something. As a little boy, like so many, I sang a long to Brown Eyed Girl. As a teenager. Probably eight years late, from its release. I heard Caravan for the first time. And, that was all she wrote for this hillbilly. From that point on. I listened to every note, every breath. Deciphering, every note, every breath. Realizing, there were no slips, or faux pas. Just provisioned expressions. Using the vocal chords for which they were created. The rawest form of all musical instruments. I love a thousand other singers. This man is a very special talent. And, I pray he knows Jesus. It is the most important thing for all of us.
