    I have never stretched this muscle in my life, and my right leg is heavily externally rotated. I've been trying to stretch every other muscle, but what you showed in this video works amazingly! Again, I have never stretched this muscle, and I have no chance of getting as flat as you did, but this feels great. Thank you (can't believe people don't mention this in every other tutorial I have seen about externally rotated hips).

    Nice stretches for a healthy sartorius muscle. I need baby steps to reach this level of stretching for my right satorius muscle.

    Thanks I've been dealing with satorius muscle problem for over a year. Been doing your stretch for a week now feels great.
    Two orthopedic Doctors said I need full hip replacement.
    They didn't want to listen.
    When pointed to the problem area. The point in the front area. I knew I didn't need replacement. They seen my top notch insurance
    Plan. 80k per hip.
    Thanks again!

    Great instructional video, and holy crap this stretch is insane!! I'm now gonna start doing this stretch daily because I really need it. One question though: I noticed that you're slightly arching your lower back, but my lower back has to be seriously arched for me to be able to lean back and get into position. What do you recommend: should I use my elbows as support instead or allow for some arching and work on pressing my lower back closer towards the ground instead (it naturally gets closer to the ground after about 30 secs in the position)? Again, great video and thanks a bunch! :)

    • @ThePhysioFix
      @ThePhysioFix  5 лет назад +1

      Stvafel I would definitely use the elbows until you can get into the other position with the back on the ground but it’s okay to arch a little as long as no back pain

    Wat do you think ,that its increasing the pressure on lumbar spine by increasing the lordosis. Any alternative?? Though the stretch is really good but the only thing I found was increased pressure on lordotic curve.

    Great video, just have a quick question: I've been struggling with inner knee pain for over a year now but it only hurts when my knee is in full flexion either when sitting on your heels like you were (hero pose in yoga) or sitting cross legged trying to pull the heel into the groin. I've eliminated the common issues like meniscus problems and can't seem to figure out the problem. Do you think it could be the sartorius insertion at the pes anserine?

    • @ThePhysioFix
      @ThePhysioFix  5 лет назад +1

      It's really hard to know without seeing you and assessing you in person. It could be anything that attaches to the pes anserine, like the hamstring, groin muscle or the sartorius... it could also be the MCL, or it may be due to the fact that that your hips happen to turn more inward into internal rotation which causes extra stress on the inside of the knee, and in that case, maybe those positions aren't the best for you based on your unique anatomy. I would recommend going to a local physical therapist and getting an assessment because I really am just give you possibilities at this point.

    • @coreyhuffman2964
      @coreyhuffman2964 5 лет назад

      Ok thanks for the response, I understand you can't give a specific answer over the internet but I appreciate you giving me a list of possibilities.

    • @sk8erbec
      @sk8erbec 5 лет назад

      Heya I'm having a similar problem. When stretching for taekwondo any of the legs apart stretches or high round or side kicks really pull on the pes anserine area and cause awful pain. It also happens when I sit cross legged. I know I am very tight in my hips and legs and I am convinced this has something to do with tight sartorius and other pes anserine muscles. This stretch felt fantastic. I'm going to stretch nearly every day with this and other stretches and I think it will help.

    • @coreyhuffman2964
      @coreyhuffman2964 5 лет назад

      @@sk8erbec I've found that my problem was likely caused from having an anterior pelvic tilt for many years. When in this pelvic position, the pes anserine muscles get shortened and weak. If you try standing in a posterior pelvic tilt and then straighten your legs, you will find it pulls on these muscles or your hamstrings if this is your problem as well.

    So I have a sharp pain right on my asis, I assume it's the sartorious muscle at its origin. I do alot of squats, because of strength training and omfg this had me tapping in like 30 seconds. Some of the pain feels lifted but it's hard to tell right now. I will check back to let you know if it helped. All other sartorious stretches didn't do shit for me.
