    Hello! My brother is autistic, and personally this always bothered me, but I'd love to have your take on it;
    How do you feel about a lot of people nowadays claiming they are autistic, if only just to appear different or special, despite a lot of the time probably not having anything of the sort?

      @@DD-vz7vr From my understanding, the Autistic community is mixed on self diagnostic and what you have said. Usually self diagnosis is okay as long as the person has done a lot of research on the topic, as a diagnosis can be expensive.
      If it only to gain sympathy or attention with little to no research that is something different and I don't like it myself. Some people will try to claim Autistic to gain benefits or easier work unfortunately, but even that will usually require a diagnosis or at least an I.E.P if they are struggling.
      Tl:dr; People are weird when they do that if it's to gain sympathy or an advantage. If they have done proper research on it then I'm mutual. And Autism can appear in different ways so it possible someone could be on the lower side of the spectrum or are good at masking it.

    I'm also autistic, and I can see a few similarities.
