The Royal Scam is a masterpiece, for sure. Many prefer it over Aja because it sounds a little less polished, but anyone can make an argument that all of their other albums are the best. That’s why SD is so revered. Thanks for the Steely Dan twofer.

This is a fun one. A pair of Green Earrings were once owned by this "boyfriends" woman. This boyfriend stole her earrings for cash. She knows he stole them, because he has done it many times before, he pokes fun at her for the anger in her eyes.... He also stole her: "Greek Medallion that sparkles when you smile, sorry, Angle, I get hungry like a child"....
Please, please, please do SIGN IN STRANGER from the Royal Scam album! I believe it is the final one from this album, you haven't done...you might as well finish it now. Lol... I’ve only known Pretzel Logic from the 70s. I enjoyed both songs, the jazzy Green Earrings and the swing of Everything You Did”. Steely Dan has such a quirky unique sound. I like it a lot. It’s good to get to hear them. Thank you, Lee!

I've been to perhaps 25 shows starting in 1974, including an unbelievable show in Paris. You owe it to yourself. Life is truly short.
I saw Steely Dan in 2022, and it was impeccable. The only act I've seen that rivals the quality of Steely Dan's outdoor mix is Van Morrison (who, coincidentally, I had also seen prior that same year).

You want to see something impressive Google Steely Dammed 2 it's a local band of All-Star musicians here in San Diego... Hank Easton does all the guitar solos and their note for note perfect... In fact I'm going to go see them on Tuesday at the Belly up
The Royal Scam is a better album than Aja and I will genuinely believe that until I die. It’s got more songs, more variety, the lyrics throughout are way better than on Aja, there are like 5 famous guitar solos (on Green Earrings it’s Denny doing the first solo kinda jazzy and then Elliot Randall does the completely unhinged solo with that crazy bubbly effect), the Royal Scam is darker, edgier, Fagens vocals are better than on Aja, I just think it’s better all around and I love Aja of course. I think Scam is the best example of what Steely Dan were great at, perfectly mixing jazz and rock
