"And then the piano, beer, and songs; '2080's lyrics written quickly and messily on a sheet of paper; Lyn relaxing on her hammock; hands, glasses, and bottles clinking on the floor as if in response to the neighbors reprimands. A joyful hippie communion..."

Was I the only one ready to cry when they pulled back to reveal everyone in the room? My friend Ellen and I both got the emotion, and we can't figure out why. So beautiful and emotional.
wait were you actually on this video ???
This was the last video my brother showed me before he died. It's a special video to me. Thank you for that.
Sorry to hear about your brother. I'm glad you have this video to help remember good times with him.
Beautiful brother with a beautiful soul x God bless you
Papi Chulo P “Pickle the pain”
I have a video like that too, my brother was murdered. This isn’t his video, but I’m glad to be watching this In honor of yours
Your brother obviously had great musical taste... I'm assuming he lived a noteworthy life. Any cool stories?
You know you're in a kickass band when you can accidentally lock all your instruments in the van and still play a great show
Saw this years ago, and it's still my favourite video on youtube.
So tell me how all they had was a piano and yet they still sound as amazing as their recorded tracks!
I love how you don't know there's all those people back there, and then they just pop up and you're like OH MY GOD and it just makes it intoxicating!
Watch this once a week. Top 5 video on RUclips
This is one of those things where, if you were there to feel it, you'd be damn moved to tears.
Yeasayer rocks. They know how to pull in a crowd and they harmonize like nobody's business.
That bit where they're told to keep it down is just too precious!
I saw them live in chicago december 30th 2010 their show before the new years show. needless to say it was fantastic, we were some of first people thru the door, i was about 4 rows back from the front of the stage right in the middle. one of the best shows i've ever been to!
this magical la blogotheque atmosphere is so je ne sais quoi.
man i watch this vid like everyday now its just soo crazy wish i could of been there
simply amazing.
This video is incredible!
I can't stop watching it.
Makes me want to live in Paris even moreee!
Yeasayer are amazing...
Surely this is the best vid on youtube?
You know you're good when you make hitting keys against a beer glass sound like a valid percussion instrument
These are the best type of people, their soul is set to enjoy life :-)
one word for this video....talent
It makes me feel okay about humanity that I'm not the only one. Why is it so moving?
Wish I could travel back 10 years ago to that apartment in France and sing along to 2080 like a big dumb idiot.
Also I'm in love with the woman in the butterfly shirt.
yeasayer thank you!!!! you guys are absolutely incredible!!!!
come back to portland, OR soon!!!
sooo good, one of the best new bands ive heard
surely the best vid on youtube?
miss you guys already :( Yeasayer is timeless!
That was fantastic. One of the best I've seen.
I was in Paris when they played. I can't believe I missed this.
Well the thing about the take away show performances they are all pretty much un-arranged. Which is what makes it so beautiful.
My heart
Hell yeah !!!!!
Awesome as always
This is incredibly beatiful and passionate.
Watch this once or twice a year
Yeah, that's it. Thanks!
Ohhh, can they come to my house too? What a great video :D
I wish I was in that jam session!
@gcorking12 Because Tightrope is on the compilation Dark Was The Night. You have to check it out. Amazing artists all on one CD with originals and a lot of collaborating on songs (Bon Iver with the National, Feist with Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors with David Byrne, etc.). Incredible album.
wiki...../wiki/Dark_Was_the_Night

version of tightrope is amazing! I would love to hear a studio recorded acoustic tightrope (hidden track???)
Best video on youtube for sure.
Oh my. :]
@blondie6235 only the past week? - it is phenomenal hey.. i finally got to see them live this year.. ummmmmmm wow dot com
This is gorgeous. You just want to be there.
dude plays the keys and bottle pretty well
I saw this band play tonight in Boston. I've never heard them before. This video is the complete opposite of what they are today, sad to say.
yeah but she's cute and having fun! i love her!
insane
(panting, tired, sore legs, exhausted)..... this is how I feel on the STAIRMASTER at my gym! hahaha
Until you just cant give no more!
baya musica
i downloaded zillatube. it's easy to use. you can download videos off youtube and turn them into mp3's.
For every 100 people that like like .75 of a person dislike this song. You'd think that the 7 thumbs down people might realize they're wrong, statistics proves it.
3:55 shivers
What's the song at the very start?
Thank you x1000
god the one time I would not be frowned upon for being fd up and having pitstains and I miss. Would of been a fun time with that brittany murphy look alike
"hasn't let up" "it's about 6 in the morning"
what the french woman at the door said according to youtube translations. lol....
this video makes me miss the aughts, miss parties, miss all of it-- groups fall apart, musicians settle down and stop letting dozens of drunks into their houses because they have kids, everyone around me isn't old but acts old the last 7y or so. i get it.
Sitting on my couch, watching this thinking exactly the same thing
Still one of the best videos on youtube
could not agree more
yes yes and yes ))
I remember watching it 10 years ago. very much agree.
yep
totally
I always come back and watch this video a couple times a year.
A reminder of better times
hahaha seeing this comment while doing exactly that
I will bear your children .
Same
Samesies 💜
it's hard to find the right words for how much i like this version of 2080! it's not only the sound, it's also the interaction of the band and the crowd and it's an increibily joyfull atmosphere. look at the faces in this video! it really makes me happy to see how happy everybody is!
Incredible that the one of the best videos on RUclips has been around for 13 years and still not over 1 million views.
That actually blows my mind, this video is iconic in my heart.
Can't believe this is 10 years old. Still love it.
This is probably the 50th time I've watched this since it was posted. It's bizarre to think how rare it is to find a band that will even admit to pursuing something joyful. I think Pitchfork deducts 2 points just for mentioning the word.
When they first break out in harmony, I still feel like I'm getting hit in the stomach it's so good. This restores my faith in people. I rarely gush like this. I'm actually more of an electronic music head.
Time for the 51th time, 14 years after
This version of tightrope is what got me into a take away shows
Samantha Dunn samesies
still listening
Eu amo esse vídeo dum tanto
2080 almost sounds like 2018 ;).
this is an important video for me.
I just found out today they broke up some months back, truly heart broken and shedding some tears. This performance/ video made me fall in love with them and get me through some hard times. Thank you for the memories.
Oof would've liked to be able to see them live
Absolutely love La Blotheque.. This just epitomises its brilliannce and genius of a very simple concept 😍
I miss this 2006-2010 vibe so much
Remember when nobody took their phone out?
i think this might be the best thing i have ever seen on youtube
I'm so moved and inspired. I need to make every party I host become this.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
how the fuck did a piano make it up the eleven flights
man. i've had some parties in my place but i can't beat this. yeasayer. yeah!
definitely one of my fav Blogotheque videos out there. it just looks like so much fun being there. definitely makes me feel like i'd want to be there, jamming with them aand.... yeah!
I am on a BLOGOTHEQUE trip tonight! This is one of my TOP TOP fave videos on RUclips!
this kinda reminds me of MGMT's "Time to Pretend". these guys are living my dream- going around the world and playing beautiful music with beautiful people
7:08 the wasted guy with the pit stains jamming out with the roof ahaha awesome
Hahahahahahha the old lady...
this is amazing.
10 years later this still brings tears in my eyes
Almost 14 years later and here we are.
The thing I like about "Tightrope" is how versatile the melody is- the versions in this video, the live video from "Dark Was The Night," and the recorded version are all so different, yet recognizably the same. Yeasayer, despite being heavily electronic in their recordings, displays such a high level of musicianship in their live performances.
HOLY MOLY. I really had to laugh out loud when they all sang and it gave me goosebumps.
the neighboors haha" y'a des gens qui travaillent..." which means some ppl have to wake up early for work haha
she don't realise how lucky she is to have this band playing next to her
Best 9 min I have spent on youtube
Literally shivers down my spine. Which is slightly irritating as it makes my nipple erect and rubs on my shirt. Silly nipple.
i masturbated to this comment. vigorously.
I'm gettin' hot and bothered.
Going through covid with this piece
what a beautiful thing adding the audience to the show
I almost cried from joy when "the choir" started "yeah yeah".
4:34 "He's so dreamy."
