The reaction to the chemise a la reine is just like some twitter rant but make it pre-french revolution. Seriously Marie would be blamed for global warming nowadays. She just wanted the prettiest dresses.
@@iamvictoriarae Next step: Kaiserin Sissi. Of Austria. You could make "Rate the Dresses" a series. :D Edit: Oh, somebody already suggested her in the comments below. ^ ^ So, I'm going to chuck Katharina the Great into the pot too.
Great video! Please make more dress ranking videos, maybe you could rank the dresses of ,,Kaiserin Elisabeth of Austria" or princess Dagmar of Denmark or anyone really (it would be entertaining and informative regardless). I would want the ,,chemise a la reine" because I could look like a queen, but still move through doors, must have been hard with a pannier. I did not expect you to be American at all (maybe I just don't know what Americans are like well enough). Sorry for the long text and possible grammar/spelling mistakes, english is not my native language.
@@iamvictoriarae Ah, the fabled "lying around fabric". I have some of that too. Just recently re-discovered a grey, slightly shimmering but still matte, artificial fiber fabric from 20 years ago or something. Trying to figure out what to do with it. It's rather stiff and heavy. Something Victorian might work, but I have no Victorian stuff so far.
I hadn’t either for the longest time! Imagine having to change your ENTIRE name to the version of it from a different country. I wonder if she had a difficult time learning to respond to it.
@@iamvictoriarae Because of the difference in pronunciation of the letter J between portuguese and italian, my godmother had to deal with people calling her Iuliana, if Marie acted anything like my godmother she might have made fun of it to trusted friends 😂
Aaaaw thank you! I really like her story. I honestly think if I had lived back then I would be angry at the monarchy too, but I’d like to think I wouldn’t have wanted them beheaded. They were products of their society
You _desparately_ need to up your mic volume. I have to put my volume up to 42, and it's going out through a stereo (everything esle I watch is on 8-12). The minute I click something else, it _screams_ at me because I forget I turned it up so high.
She had a lilac gown for her wedding?! That's so sad it couldn't fit. It must've been so pretty. That cobalt and pink gown from her childhood. Cake sis, cake~. The fake front bow fantasy. Ugh! Please, fake bows, yes. Gosh, poor Marie, she was really an icon. Poor thing.
you know how funny it is when you find out "ooh-la-la" doesn't mean the same thing at all in France, ahhahhahahhhhahaahaha, it almost never means the same thing as it does in English, but there are 2 types of meanings depending on the intonation, either shock/scare or shock/annoyance
Love that you‘re telling her life story alongside the portrait rating. This video is cake
Thank you so much!
Agree. CAKE... or egg-based bread?
wow I really appreciate learning about her personal history thank you for sharing! also your opinions were all correct.
I’m all about Marie’s personal history. I’ve been interested in her since I was a kid and hope to continue learning about her.

She is blamed for many things she did not do, said or had any blame either
13:50 that scared the shit out of me
The Chemise a la Reine was going to be a hit sometime or another...when they find out how bearable it is in the summer.
Exactly! I think it’s time for it to make a comeback
Just found you today! Your Sleeping Beauty video got me hooked! I'm so excited to watch more :)
Hooray! Thank u. Im working on some more videos now.
her facial expressions in her portraits always give me chiwawa wearing a tutu energy
haha
I really love your videos!! can you rate Elizabeth 1's dresses?
Now I HAVE to do that! I haven’t even thought about Elizabeth I which is a shame because her dresses are gorgeous from the few portraits I have seen

Both of those women seem very interesting! I’m definitely going to do research on them now.
And your English is very good 🙂

Wow, thank you for the reply.
I love the silver dress you made! What fabric did you use?
Thanks! It was fabric that my mom had lying around, so I’m not exactly sure. But I think it’s some sort of polyester satin???

I love Mari’s pink dress when she’s holding a mirror!!! It’s so cute!!! I love that dress and I need it in my life immediately.
Chipmunk gossip is my favorite kinda gossip lol
Never knew she wasn't originally named Antoinette!

Almost smoked a pipe in my riding coat portrait, but mother wouldn't let me
Great video! I also love your dress! What type of fabric is that!?
it's quite eerie, you sound like her reincarnation speaking, your voice started breaking towards the end
