    It seems to be the destiny of all robot vacuum reviewers to become vacuum reviewers.
    You are doing great

      lol I suppose it is. But we will have the last laugh when we start to become ***** robot reviewers in the next couple of decades. :P

    My hand vacuum has a similar cone-shaped filter, but with a plastic bar across the cavity's diameter. It's very easy to remove the filter by hooking it out with a finger. You can probably superglue a toothpick to the back of your filter's cavity too.
    You have great videos by the way. I've been debating whether to get a Roomba i7 or Roborock S7. Right now I'm leaning towards the Roborock, mostly because of their performance in your plexiglass videos.

      Thanks! And if you want to buy a roomba i7 plus, I'm finally going to sell mine. I mean you shouldn't. You should totally buy the roborock. :) But if you want...email me at mrroombato at gmail.com

      @@MrRoombato Thank you for the offer! However, I must decline. I cannot buy any robot vacuum right now.

    Is that and led light at the bottom? Why do you only test it on the high level? Should normal day use off a counter top not only be able to do it with normal suction?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 года назад

      Because it's a spot cleaner, not something you would use to clean say your entire counter. That would take too long, just wipe it. So if you're only running it for a few seconds at a time, why not run it on the highest suction? I actually think the highest suction should be the default setting. Also, I do all of my tests for everything on the highest settings, because I want you to see what they are capable of when allowed to stretch their wings, so to speak.

      @@MrRoombato OK I get that, but I would have like to see what it would do on normal suction...maybe only charge it once a year lol
      Is that a led light at the bottom?

      @@hansielategan969 Yes, that is a real LED. The answer to your question is that on the counter or on carpet, it would do the same thing, it would just a little longer. On the rug, it would pull out less dog hair.

    This question is not related to this vid, but I watched many of your vids, since I'm want to buy a vacuuming robot. I see that you're not fan of iRobot’s and VSLAM which I understand completely. I'm wondering if there is any other vacuum that is non-Chinese and can compare to Roombas? In all my research roborock s7 is recommended by almost every one over j7+ which I’m considering, but I really don't want to buy Chinese products, any thoughts/tips?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 года назад +1

      Well they're all Chinese products. iRobot vacuums are made in China. iRobot is an American company, so that's a little different than the rest. Shark is also American, I think, but...ugh. Ecovacs would be your best bet, because they have employees and offices in the United States.

      @@MrRoombato Thanks, I wasn't really asking where the device is physically assembled, my problem is with who owns the servers, security issues etc. You may consider me a foilhead but I have a really big problem with sending all my private and sensitive data that those robots can provide to the Chinese, ofc I'm not trying to judge other people, I don't want any one to be offended by this concern, everyone can do as they please; but this is just how I look at it. Thank you for your response though and many tips in your videos, they are very helpful!

      @@dupaluba6374 In that case also consider Samsung, which is South Korean. All of China knows my home's layout at this point, but I'm not sure how much good that will do them! :)
      If you are very concerned about privacy, you probably don't want iRobot sending videos of your home to Amazon Web Services either though. Because that's what they use to store their maps and other robot data. In all Chinese robots that I've tested, the maps and other data is stored on the robot, as evidenced by the fact that you lose all of your data (maps, etc.) if you disconnect the battery.

      @@MrRoombato Very interesting thanks! I was thinking about Samsung or deebot but as far as the reviews go, they don't compare to Roombas ;) beside the house layout - which honestly is not my biggest concern I also worry about the devices of all kinds, that are part of IoT having access to your other devices and sensitive data by simply being connected to your house network. I'd still rather have Americans mine my data rather than the Chinese; but I guess you can't really avoid it nowadays with our smartphones etc. unless you live in a cabin in the woods :P but I'm doing research on how to set up VLAN's to separate what those devices can and can't access. Anyways this is a discussion far beyond my original question and the subject in general.

      @@dupaluba6374 Roombas are terrible though. That's the simple inescapable truth. Not in every way...they are great implementations of the technology they use, but VSLAM is garbage. So you're going to have to swallow a hard pill if you want a good robot vacuum. :)
      I live in a cabin in the woods! And I still can't escape being data mined. If you are concerned about privacy, I suggest you use an iOS phone to run the apps and deny all unnecessary permissions.

      I don't think it's powerful enough to use in a car. I use it for spot cleaning on counters and couches.
