its a shame seeing how many people disliked such a simple and well put together video all because of transphobia. ezra really simplifies the intricacies of such a gorgeous and intimate song with such good emotion; and its all overshadowed by intolerance. with the editing helping to visualize the music, as well as ezra's relaxed charm; this is such a perfect video.
I really think Ezra Furman is going to end up like The Velvet Underground where he'll become critically acclaimed after his time. He's miles ahead of most alt-rock bands putting out music right now and isn't afraid to do something different.
In fact sometimes Ezra reminds me of Lou Reed.
Have you listened to Ezra's new record? Starts out pretty straight forward and then that song "Blown" comes along... Metal Machine Music much.
Ezra's stuff is really amazing. Also: Check out is earlier work with the Harpoons. :)

Believe it or not VICE used to be the shit in journalism. They just told the truth. They don't any more. I subscribed back then. Somewhere around the time Bill Maher and HBO got involved with them they decided to pursue an agenda rather than just report the facts. VICE were in Ukraine documenting their conflict with Russian separatists, etc. Now they are a freak show and we're letting them know that we know what they're doing and it isn't journalism. What’s wrong with this ? Are we confusing what we hear from the people we watch and agree with on everything with this dude that likes to dress like a girl and make music ? Rodrigo Gonzalez Mixing very serious issues with off-topic videos such as this (which are obviously paid favors) undermines the integrity of the channel and the value they put on their primary content. If they want to make art-focused content, they should do it on a separate channel without using this particular one to garner views on irrelevant topics.
Saatwik Katiha it’s odd though because throughout history all newspapers have had a culture section, and gardening and cooking and sport etc. It has never been seen as an issue.
Shelley James That analogy falls flat because newspapers, traditionally, have the purpose of introducing you to various facets of life at large. You never subscribe with the expectation of finding only focused information, as is (or rather was) the case with Vice. It used to focus solely on serious issues and now it publishes this irrelevant content to make money. A better analogy would be a scientific journal. If, tomorrow, Nature were to start publishing paid articles where an artist was describing a painting he made, a large majority of the subscriber base would be greatly miffed, some would even unsubscribe.
What ever happened to "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Some of the comments are just hateful. There's no need to berate a complete stranger whose appearance/mindset/choices have no affect on you or your life.
Unnecessary reporting brings forth unnecessary comments so blame Vice.
Wouldn't it just be easier to not follow Vice if the reports were deemed by one to be unnecessary instead of just spouting hateful words. There are thousands of other news outlets out there.

Except a Ferrari and sneakers are at least theoretically achievable, whereas wanting to remove a Y-chromosome from every cell in the body is not achievable. I don't find it offensive that someone wants something they can't have, but I find it odd that the feminist community tolerates this kind of stereotyping of what it is to be female.
