I highly recommend: "The Logical Song" by Supertramp
Yes, please do "logic song"!
“Long Way Home” is my favorite, because of the Harmonica at the beginning. Also, the highlighting of individual instruments.
The Clarinet and Roger’s piano too.
You need to react to 'Goodbye Stranger and The Logical Song!!!'
Renee HeKnowsMyName The whole album is great, even the lesser known songs such as “Lord is it Mine”.
@@elcaldy4435 ...... Cool, I'll have to check that one out! Thank you
Supertramp an English rock band definitely had a sound of their own. The logical song was one of my favorites.
Supertramp's English?!! I always thought they were American.
His voice sounds higher on this recording than on the original Vinyl. There are some great songs on the album, Breakfast in America, used to play it a lot.
It almost sounds like at times as if the music is being played too fast.
Annie, it was sped up a bit but it was the studio version
Supertramp was the #1 of 1979. I still play them frequently on the play list
Crime of the Century, Rudy, Fool's Overture, School, Give a Little Bit, and Even in the Quietest Moments! Please! You won't be disappointed.
You forgot "The Logical Song"!
Oh my! What memories. And the live versions from the Paris release - their sound engineer was a genius!
And “Fools Overture”
I played Crime of the Century’s, School to a younger colleague of mine in the car one morning and he was speechless. He couldn’t get enough of it. It is my favourite album. Please give it a listen.
Roger Hodgeson is a genius.
As is Rick Davies
@@WMalven Indeed! Crime Of The Century. If more fans new the truth about Hodgson and why Supertramp songs keep disappearing from YT..... a great talent, but a huge egomaniac when it comes to his years with Supertramp. Some of his interviews are embarrassing to listen to. He puts the others down consistently.
Enjoyed hearing this again so TY for the reaction, My favourite from Supertramp is "Goodbye Stranger" they had a lot of world wide hits in their time great rhythms and vocals
Keep Well Keep Strong My Friend
You cannot imagine how thrilled I was when I saw that you were going to react to Supertramp!!! They were one of my favorite classic rock bands!!!...please react to more Supertramp, you will not be disappointed :)
Breakfast in America is one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
Crime Of The Century is far far better.
@@essenegnostic8711 I agree.
Its in the top 100,000.
More Supertramp please,
Supertramp's awesome! "Long Way Home" & "The Logical Song" are my favorites.
Yesss and give a little bit
Supertramp is one of my all time favorite groups
This sounded identical to the studio version. This may have been just a music video for the song. But I love the entire album with 4 hit songs from it.
Love Supertramp!! I was 14 and rollerskating to this 😂
Breakfast In America is one of the greatest albums of all time. Every song is a classic, like Bat out Of Hell it's the sound track of my youth.
Love Supertramp. Roger Hodgson is wonderful. He has a such a clear, unusual voice, but a great voice.
Back to the 70's, best time for such a diverse sound of music, love it
Logical Song is my favorite from them. Good album good band.
Supertramp are originally from my country, England. Been following Supertramp for years. 'Breakfast in America' is certainly one of their best. 'Dreamer' and 'The Logical Song' are also two of my favourites by them.
Love Supertramp. Love this song. 😆
So many great songs by this band!
Supertramp is one of the most musically talented, creative, progressive rock bands of the mid 70s. Their albums, Crime of the Century, Crisis? What Crisis?, Even in the Quietest Moments, and Breakfast in America are virtually flawless...hardly a cut that isn't worth really listening to closely.
Don't know where I was when I first heard it, but they've been a favorite of mine since then. Recommend "School," "Good-bye Stranger," "Rudy," "Sister Moonshine," "Loverboy," "Gone Hollywood" for starters.
@ mrm, you need to listen to the whole side of the album.
I'm sooooooo happy you reacted to them!! I got my first 45 of them when I was 7!! I love SuperTramp. I've noticed other people recommending some of their other songs. I second that! Thank you.❤
Goodbye Stranger is the song i enjoy the most from Supertramp this song had a lot of airplay back in the day.
I was just listening to this song and them this morning. My mama loved these guys
This album was huge selled 18-20 million copies in 1979, and they went on a 10 month tour supporting it.
I liked your assessment of this sound. Supertramp is a favorite band of mine. That being said, there was something wrong with this version. The lead singer's voice seemed higher than usual and the guy singing back up seemed like his voice was slowed down, or dragging. May have been the venue, but just thought I'd put that out there.
Supertramp is highly copywritten, awesome that this one isn't. Loved this.. Love you Mama Dawn.. Prayers for you sis.
Love Supertramp!
Supertramp was out of the picture before the big hair bands.
I was a big fan , and still am. I'd give real money to learn the stories behind their songs.
LOVE that album.

This album has several unique, classic songs on it. Definitely worth a listen. I agree with the several others who have especially recommended the Logical Song and Goodbye Stranger.
Every song on BREAKFAST IN AMERICA is great! I was a Jr in High school, radio station, first period. Got to crack open the cellophane on this brand new album. Put it on the turntable and only took it off to turn it over and played side B. Many of my favorite albums had to grow on me but this one, every song, fist listen!!! This wasn’t a live recording BTW. Thanks for your reaction!!!!!!
Breakfast in America. Not mourning. 😎
"Breakfast In America".... It's 1980 high school all over again with my friend picking me up in his 67' GTO ! Now do we spend a day in high school or roam the city's junkyards looking for muscle car parts for his ( GOAT & my 66' Chevelle SS),playing racket ball ( yes.. racket ball ! Google it ! ) then hitting pizza hut for the all you can eat lunch 😉and then ending the day of "school" by shooting pool or playing pinball at the local Pool Hall ✌😎 Aaah yes... the good ole days 😆
The title song from the best album of 1979.
Crime, Crisis and Quietest Moments are 3 of the greatest albums ever, Breakfast in America is when they became more commercial.
Supertramp was one of a kind, it has been a very long time since I listened to them. Realize now I need to go back through my CD's and give them another listen. Thanks for doing this one, Ty!
One of my favourite bands! They are so unique
I was only 5 at the time! But it is one of the first I remember (the very first one I remember was by a band called "Streetband" called "Toast" which was sung by a very young (no pun intended!) Paul Young and is hilarious - you ought to try it!) and I asked for kippers for breakfast very soon after that - started a fondness for kippers (and other smoked fish - smoked mackerel is yum!) that I've had ever since. (Ed's Note - Kippers are smoked split herring. Bloaters are smoked unsplit herring - nice, but not as nice as kippers.)
I love to see someone who appreciate this masterpiece album in 2020... I bought it like most kids of my generation when it first came out back in 1979 age 13/14 and it has remained at the top of my playlist ever since! You got to listen to the whole album man! It’s a classic!
I was a child when this album was released and my mother owned it. "Breakfast In America" was one of those amazing albums where there were no filler songs and all were great. I think you might like "Lord, Is It Mine."
Great selection! the Crime of the Century album was one of the 12 albums I bought for one dollar in those great record deals through the mail back then. I gambled on them due to their interesting band name. Fantastic album and they kept the quality up for years. I think my two favorites of theirs are lesser known songs: Downstream, a beautiful piano ballad; and Don’t Leave Me Now - a later song also with very good piano.I definitely recommend these songs.
Time stamp of my life: again, I was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, when this hit the airwaves in 1979. With a Chinook unit, the 179th ASH. Twenty two, and wet behind the ears. Good song, good band. Mobile Fidelity recently released the album on Hybrid SACD. Sounds great in the new format.
An SACD drop! Thanks... I go buy it!
Try Bloody Well Right for a cool piano intro.
Oh Darling is a GREAT song that never really got any airplay, its off Breakfast in America.
I haven't heard that song in over a decade...thanks for the memories brother.
A good song. Also liked Its Raining Again. That’s my favorite by them
Supertramp was one of the few bands that sounded exactly the same on album or live.
i think my favorite Supertramp song is "Even in the quietest moments".
First year of college. Cruising with my friend Tammy. Good times
Hide in Your Shell, A Soapbox Opera, School, Lord Is It Mine, Child of Vision.
It was a goofy little song that we loved singing along with! My best friend and I would cruise the Blvd listening to this on 8-track when we were 17! Lol! Good times!
Also consider "Take The Long Way Home" by Supertramp.
Eagles and Supertramp and 10 cc all shared much the same sound- it might have been a sign of the times. I've got two albums with Supertramp, but it was a short romance, as I met Patti Smith, Television and Talking Heads. I might have to give them another spin.
Breakfast in the morning. Lolol must’ve been hungry. Epic fail
🤣👍🏽Total Fail!
Supertramp. Awesome!
Love this song!
We had the best music in the 70's !!!
We (Americans) listen to the songs from this albumn, as we toured through Europe. #Breakfast in Europe for us.
This doesn't quite sound right-like it has been sped up a bit to the original version.
Reminds me of a thunderstorm when a tree outside of my house was hit by lightning and I was scared but had little kids to take care of...
It's Breakfast in AMERICA
This is one of the best rock albums; from start to finish, the songs are thematic.
I'm a Supertramp fan 💚 I love this song...Can't remember when I first heard it 🤔
I think most people heard Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes first which is almost a direct ripoff
Look at that, did ya'll see that children,.....a Clarinet, ..yes a horn, widely used , in rock, not just jazz and classical, also the Oboe too. Just keep listening to 70's music, especially groups like Supertramp, .meanwhile, do check out Long Way Home, Logical song, and oh a masterpiece "Fool's Overture,...Peace ✌
Crime of the Century ....... and Supertramp was out 2 years beforeThe Eagles who did Hotel California ...........both ground breaking bands in their own right , Eagles being from the USA and Supertramp from England
the "illogical song"
The real Best song by Supertramp is” My Kind Of Lady”
Their best album! Very popular when it came out; Everybody I knew had this album at one time or another. PLEASE react to more songs from this album. Prayers and blessings to the good lord for you & your sis!
Singing along. British band.
Momma Dawn has that same fine taste that you have MRM! Where was I when this came out, starting my 1st year of hs. :)
Love Supertramp! Do yourself and all of your subscribers a favor and listen to School From the crime of the century LP
Never heard Supertramp before? You have 4-5 full album from mid-70 to mid-80 to dig into
Hide in your shell = masterpiece 🔥
I love your reactions because you actually listen to the song. I'd love to see you react to The Logical Song.
I used to listen to this on 8 track! "Child of vision" is my fave song
I was a pree teen wore that album out!
Great group grew up with them good memories
Crime of the Century and School
You might like some of their more spiritual songs, like Even In the Quietest Moments and Babaji.
Fronted by a lead clarinet. Turned to 11.
You need to check out Give A Little Bit by Supertramp.
Try "The logical song" , "child of vision"or "give a little bit"...... that's a cool group!
Give A Little Bit or Bloody Well Right
If anyone was listening, is another great one.
That song is being played much faster than it should be and that's why his voice sounds way too high in pitch. Check you speed on these, sometimes people screw around with them.
I heard this first probably in the early '80s on the radio. Part of the soundtrack of my youth.
Please react next to Long Way Home by Supertramp!
Supertramp - from now on.
This is about materialism, sort of like Hotel California. Good pick up.
One of my favourites!
Supertramp produced some really catchy and quirky hits. As they say variety is the spice of life.

Take the long way home is amazing but the whole album is a masterpiece!
Great song, great reaction.
