A survival-action game inspired by real-life events, Atomfall is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England.

Single player, narrative driven? Oh yeah. Wicker men? Yes yes yes. A folk horror apocalypse! Excited for this. Loving the period accurate weaponry and uniforms too. I hope there’s a rich, side quest heavy open world here. The more Fallout-esque the better. Crafting yes, settlements no (I hope.)

Uhhh… Obsidian? Lol They made New Vegas. Not to mention The Outer Worlds is very Bethesda like with their own spin on it. We shall see how Avowed turns out.

Uhh cyberpunk is good in its own right furthermore great little similarities to any Bethesda games if I’m honest

It looks like a mash up of Dear Esther, Everyone's gone to the Rapture, We Happy Few and I guess a little bit Fallout

Well ill give fallout Cumbria a go 😊, love this is set in the Lake district, just hope it avoids the pitfalls which affected the fallout games. I really do like the early cold War aesthetic things like the burnt out Moris minor, the old style phone boxes, webley revolvers, SLRs and Bren guns etc maybe even an EM-2

Like the fact that the British soldiers have FN FALs battle rifles, very retro. It's also nice that rebellion is actually trying new things these days, All they ever done are the sniper games.
It looks as though one of the weapons available to the main character is a Sterling submachine gun.

looks more like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Metro tbh, fallout is more about the post post apocalypse and the human story, this is seemingly more about the setting

IMHO Fallout is so entangled with Americana and American identity that you could never move the series to another setting. Which is why a British take on post apocalyptic RPG does sound intriguing.
I hope they lean into the setting and give it a real sense of place, find ways to make everything distinctively British.
Rebellion also did the PSP Star Wars battlefront games.
Rebellion are/have created some truly excellent British games!
Fallout minus the Bethesda Bugs ;) I'm actually looking forward to this as it will freshen up the theme of games but usually Rebellion are more known for their slower paced games tbf, with Sniper Elite franchise, it's only been in the Zombie Army games and SE 5 which was more fast paced CoD-esque

It's based not far from where I live, can't wait to have a go, suppose I'm gonna have to buy a new xbox, had a nice 2 year break away from gaming so this will be a nice re-introduction back into the gaming world, just hope the locals have the correct accents

Cumbria is my home, Cumbria comes before England in our identity. As far as most of us are concerned its a different place entirely. 😅

Makes me wonder, what about Europe? What about the French? This is the cold war, British-French relations were very good at this time. Post-apocalyptic settings all too frequently handwave the rest of the world away.
Maybe you just havent been looking hard enough. There are the metro games, stalker, chernobyl, atomic heart. I would even throw frostpunk in there. And this is just off the top of my head.

I enjoy it if done well but these games always force you to do it. That's the issue. I want some spots that are relatively prebuilt and some that are not. That would give people options.
