Today I ordered one of these units and I enjoyed your review…very helpful. I got caught out with a sidewall blowout on my SUV 6 months ago and being 74 years old, it was a real hassle to be down in the dirt trying to use the dinky stock screwjack and the short handled nut remover. Took me nearly an hour just because I do not get up and down as easily as I used to! Then a few weeks later I tried to change a flat for a couple of ladies in a Kia…their jack and nut loosened was even worse than my SUV’s! This solves my problem!
@@nothingbutgadgets i found it but it was too late, i took apart the whole thing just to locate the fuse, got mad and nit able to put things back togethet. it is in the power outlet adapter! Then i ordered a 12 ton bottle neck jack
But, will it go under a Lincoln Town Car with a FLAT tire in a roadside emergency? I can see it going under it while the tire is inflated, but that's not where I'd need one. I've got my shop floor jacks and stands for that.
Does anyone know how to add fluid to the jack? I noticed it leaked, and I know other ones you can add hydraulic fluid, so I figured maybe someone else had to do this.
Will this jack fit under Corollas and such, When I do oil changes and tire rotations, I get tired of using scissor jacks to lift the car for jack stands, this would just be easier. Thanks.
It will not. The minimum height of the jack is 155mm. You'll need to roll the car onto a block of wood to get the extra clearance required to begin jacking up. If you have a puncture, you've got zero chance of getting the jack under the car, unlike a standard scissor jack which are less than 90mm closed. Mine failed after 4 uses and they won't honour the warranty because I didn't buy direct from their online store. You might want to keep your money for something else. In my region, they've stopped selling these products from their online store. I think that tells you everything you need to know. No warranty, no returns, no replacements, no refund, no spares.
Why did you turn the engine on before you lifted the truck? You could just turn the ignition key to utility to get power to the cigarette plug. You don’t have to crank the engine.
@@loydbrush2041 so the battery doesn't drain fast, I used an electric pump for some inflatable kayaks & the car wouldn't start, had to get the friends jump pack which was handy so that's my experience anyway
It is holding up just fine. I used it just the other day. Honestly, as I am older now, I can't imagine not having one. It makes changing a tire so much easier, especially that electric impact wrench.
I bet my paycheck that not one time has one of those "escape hammers" been used to actually escape a sinking vehicle. Also this jack looks like it would be incredibly unstable if used on any surface other than perfectly flat concrete. It's footprint is too small to be stable.
Everyone should have an escape hammer. Saved my life and my girlfriends life when she fell asleep at the wheel, drove through a guard Raul and down into the Rio Grande near Crede CO in January of 97. No way to get my door open because I was on the up river side. Couldn't get hers open because her side was up against a big rock. No power windows at that point. Tried kicking the window out. No joy. Was just about to go full scale panic then remembered the hammer. Smashed that window on the first strike. Lost one toe to frostbite but probably would have been curtains for both of us if not for the hammer. Get one for each of your vehicles.
@@williamboehm7973 Wow! I am so happy to hear you are okay and made it through that horrible ordeal. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
@nothingbutgadgets It won't jack anymore. It might be the 3-way switch, as the motor still runs, but downwards only. Forced to use the car's own scissor jack yesterday when I noticed it had failed.

This is an excellent demonstration sir. Well done
Can you do video of how to replace the fuse of this jack? I just cannot figure it out
Let me see if I can figure it out. If I can, I will make a video for you.

All I can say is that, if this will not go under, I doubt any other kind of jack will.

I've never bent a tire iron trying to get a lug nut off? That's good in an emergency, but I carry a torque bar to tighten my lug nuts to spec.
It is an emergency kit.
@@nothingbutgadgets Torque spec your lug nuts and then try using that tool. Do you think it could loosen them?
It will take any lug nut off. The way it works is pretty neat. I have used it on lugs I could not break by hand, and it took them off with ease.
How do you charge the battery has ANYONE TRIED THAT
This is not a battery charger. It is a jack and air pump. It is not cordless and must be plugged in to work.
How do you use the flashlight when it's holding the car up?
I don't think it is design to do that.
Is it safe to remove the battery cord from the jack while its still lifting or the car to use on the wrench or it have to be down ?
Yes.
Why did you turn the engine on before you lifted the truck? You could just turn the ignition key to utility to get power to the cigarette plug. You don’t have to crank the engine.
You do not have to turn the engine on, but it does speed up the process by about 40%.

don't you need to use torque wrench to get it on properly? or does this have a mechanism to do the proper torqueing?
I am sure there is a torque setting that is recommended, but I have never seen a tire shot in the world that uses a torque wrench.
...How to connect the battery cable?
I am not quite sure I understand what you are asking.
I'm assuming the same way you would jump start a car.
Great review!
Thank you.
