      A cordless drill and sockets do work very well and are much speedier than the manual lever but I'm not carrying them around with me in the car all the time. At 74 I'm still quite capable of using hand tools.

      @keithterry2169 it is admirable at 70+ to use hand tools, however.. when stuck on the side of the road, you want to get the flat fixed as quickly as possible and anything to make it quicker is more prudent. I use a scissor jack, jackstand, a battery impact gun, chock and sockets.. I can change a flat in minutes .. in my experience, in about 1/4 the time...i use the impact to raise and lower the jack/car in seconds (some of these units take minutes!!!)... my impact gun is plugged in my trunk full time (stops charging when full), and It's way faster than these products. If I need to use the impact in the garage, simple, I get it out.

      I've tried it on mine, and while it's not exactly smooth sounding, it seemed acceptable in terms of noise and speed. Good for an emergency purpose, but a regular hydraulic floor jack or an air jack would be my preference for routine use.
      Air jack comes in as first preference for me after trying that out. Very quick and quiet.

It use to be so easy to change a tire. What happened? Any one of these devices would satisfy me as long as I don’t have to go through that again. I’ve added a 20” breaker bar with a socket that will fit the lug nuts.

      Many new cars no longer comes with spare tire, nor manual jack nor wrench. So, instead of having to buy manual jack, wrench, tire inflator, flash light, etc...I can just buy one E-help kit instead. The E-help kits comes completed with the jack, tire inflator, flash light, impact wrench, gloves, and other emergency equipments. Very convenient. You don't want want to sit on the side of traffic to jack up your tire, because this is very dangerous. With an electric jack, you can safely hide inside your car or on the curb, until the car is jacked-up, then use the impact wrench to very rapidly remove the tire to fix it with a tire fixing kit and re-inflate it before you remount the tire. SAFETY is the main thing. In very cold and hot weathers, you don't want to sit outside for a long time to jack up your car and use regular wrench, so you let these tools help you while you sit inside the comfort of your car.

      @@trungson6604 This kit may be handy if your car does have a spare tire that can be swapped for the flat, but it's a bit heavy compared to the factory supplied lug wrench and jack.
      Not sure if it'd be worth stowing away in the trunk if the manual items work sufficiently for someone capable of using them.

      @@sadfur8728 Removing the wheel to fix the hole that causes the leak. Sometimes, it is possible to jack up the car and rotate the wheel to find the nail, remove it, and jam the sticky plug into the hole, but often, it would be far easier to remove the wheel so that you can use your whole body weight to jam the plug into the hole. It appears that you have never repair a punctured tire before?

    • @sadfur8728
      @sadfur8728 Год назад

      @@trungson6604 I've never considered needing to remove the tire to plug it. I thought it clever to just move the car to the position where the nail or screw is easily accessible and work with it on the car. Can't imagine it being necessary to remove the whole wheel and deal with the hazards of the car up in the air with only this jack while you plug it, but if that's what you find necessary for the strength you have for plugging, by all means.
