    Didn't realize the Lotus 26R is such a bad ass car. The way it handles and brakes and its responsiveness. Must be an absolute blast to drive. Very quick through those S's.

    Thoroughly engaging. You let us understand the greatness of the Lotus and the blend of mind and machine in creating efficient racing lines and maintaining speed into and through corners. The R26 must be one of the most satisfy drives once you start to feel what it needs and respond to what it communicates. Brilliant!

      It's fun to watch at .25x speed. He begins countersteering even before the car finishes responding to his turn-in.

    Fantastic video. Interesting Elan line for that first left hander at Blyton - you can carry much more speed through the complex if you stay out wide in one.

    Excellent video Mr Meaden, the in car footage is breathtaking.
    Wanted to know where was it filmed, looks more like a handling course than a race circuit?

    You can bet that the special handling of that car was the result of Chapman's tight relationship with Jim Clark.

    It must be a more cramped and heavier car than most Elans with all the scaffolding inside.

      @@man-mq9rk yea mazda never built a fast miata thats TRUE....however what you can do with a miata in the after market parts world is ANOTHER THING ENTIRLY and it can be done cheaply so once again...i say ....miata...less money ...can be made fast for cheap....and handles the same if not BETTER depending on each cars set up

    • @man-mq9rk
      @man-mq9rk 3 года назад

      @@GSPEED-dw3gs true I agree, just bought an na miata last week, but you can't possibly say it's better than an elan because it's simply not true. No matter how you modify it, unless you re body the whole car in carbon to match the weight of the elan

      @@man-mq9rk i was just going by what was DESCRIBED by the original poster...i myself have never driven an elan but i do own an Evora 2+2 as well as an NB miata and i can tell you the miata altho it is slower is MUCH more fun to drive and handles BETTER than my Evora...and at a cost that is just comical in comparison ....would i sell my Evora?...NO WAY...but then i wouldnt sell my miata either as its highly modified and even modified its still RELIABLE...so much so i use it as my daily driver.... :-)

    • @TheOneandOnlyGodHydra

      To be honest I'd rather have the Lotus. Sure the Miata can be modified to go ludicrously fast, but the Elan just has it's own aura to it. If I had the money I'd probably have both
