  • This song complete my tatralogy of favorites from the "Bayleaf" album 2001 by Stone Gossard the "profesor of Groove". with "anchors" and "unhandme" both in my channel and "pigeon" on helena´s channel "echoessubmarine".
The song is a gift of electric poetry and remind me the electric estetic of sound of the master Neil Young also know the "godfather of grunge" even the keeping the tempo remind the Ralph Molina´s groove with the Carzy horse.
Photos: hojas de lurel, the plant tribute nº1 by me. We must to learn a lot from plants. The breath life and how to grown health from the litle green friends (and the big plants too). A plant gives health to the earth can feed us, heal, save us and of course even kill us too but in essentially can teach a lot if we know to open us to learn.
    Lyric:
Once this man I knew had a lovely song to sing to me
All in three: one-two-wee was the way he sang
    With a southern twang, he??
A gentle man, we'd owe him
From his dusty days though, he'd been split four ways
Cut to the bone, left alone too many
It only takes these memories to make me want...sigh...
    Ahh...
You wanted to survive, had a notion to explain our way
    Pending grey and coldness
Tried to woo him to me but the spell I cast was far too weak
To break him free, who woe him
He had a different dance, he had a different song
He had a different sound to follow home
    But he didn't believe it
    He did not, bay leaf
    He didn't believe it
    He did not, bay leaf
He didn't believe it at all
    He did not, bay leaf
    He didn't believe it
    He did not, bay leaf
    La la la la la...
    Well he didn't believe it
He didn't believe it at all
    He did not, bay leaf
He didn't believe it at all
    He did not, bay leaf
    He didn't believe it
    He did not, bay leaf
Made his midnight stand with a pale fist
He took a swing, sight unseen, he suffered
    Pulled his lover to him
Made his will about the hands of fate
A bit too late, to save him
When he went back home and his mom would drown and mold
He had a different mood, he had a different style
He opened up his love so wide

Except for the Southern Twang, you could argue (Not Really) that Stone was writing about himself to some degree in this Track.. Gossard definitely had a different mood and a different Sound that Millions of wannabes have ripped off from and I'm talking about the Riffs he creates to this day in 2021... I wore this CD out all off 2001 and into 2002 while washing it down with the Main Treat; Pearl Jam!

Wow, spectacular. Great job, Stone. Lennonesque but shows a superior skill, in my opinion. Why has it taken me so long to hear this. Shame on me.
