The strongest part about this barrage to me on top of the fact fire especially against the bugs comes down to two things. It’s speed, and coverage. The shots rain down a lot faster than other barrages yet have more shots per salvo. So more shells being shot quicker essentially. And for coverage, the biggest weakness of all the other barrages is their RNG. Which not only means they will sometimes not reliably clear a area, but since they are straight forward explosives, enemies might just get lucky in avoiding one area of 3 shots for a barrage by being further back and then walking through after the shots were already fired on that spot. But with fire being left everywhere in the aftermath, it kills those enemies regardless. And as a result, it is the most consistent barrage when it comes to killing everything in its radius, and also providing a momentary buffer zone of fire that continues even after the shots stop.
I got to try this out after coming back to helldivers 2 from an extended break. As a lover of napalm, flamethrowers, and incendiary grenades... it is a thing of beauty. And also team killing because people keep getting on fire from chargers and little flamey angry bugs.
Here's a tip for this one, on the "destroy eggs" missions you can just toss this in the general vicinity of the eggs and it will clear the entire objective 100% of the time.
Other barrages were in effect, those barrages killed the strider, I don’t think the napalm barrage even has enough armour pen nor demolition force to destroy factory striders
Napalm barrage has no demo or armor peircing. But its ability to melt chaff is unparalleled and worth the cooldown. It can completely stuff a bug breech, excluding bts and chargers. However, with no chaff, bts and chargers become so much easier
They should instead buff the normal barrage like they did it with the gatlin orbital. Normal barrage should have 3x higher firerate and it should last longer like a crazy ww1 verdun shell shock barrage.
Best stratagem added if you ask me. Visually stunning and gets me 80+ kills a use! Can’t wait for it to make its debut into our catalog

@@prabhav1788 I'd bet the shell itself have same properties as gas strike shell, smoke strike etc so direct hits will still hurt a lot.
