WD-40 is the worst after run oil to use as it isn’t oil but is mostly naphtha and kerosene which will evaporate. It’s a good cleaner tho. I use Marvel Mystery oil mixed with ATF. 80/20 mix. You can also use Marvel Mystery Oil and WD-40 80/20 mix. The MMO is the oil that protects and the ATF or WD-40 displaces any moisture which would cause rust. The ATF has detergents in it which help keep things nice and shiny. Your bearings will last much longer this way.
Thanks, just be sure to read the owners manual, I’m bad about not doing that, I’ve been running electric Rc’s for so long that I don’t even bother anymore with reading anything out of the box, nitro is a whole other animal! It’s exciting to try out the other side of the hobby! It just takes a little more patience and maintenance but nothing too difficult, o and one other thing, don’t mess with the tuning needles until you fully break it in, you will be tempted too but don’t lol trust me🤙
@@rcreviews9894 Yeah I too have only ever played about with electric ones. This is my first proper go at using Nitro, it seems a bit daunting but very fun at the same time. I’ll be triple checking the instructions more than likely on the break in of the engine but I’m really looking forward too it!
@@tomsmith2540 o yeah you are really gonna like it! It’s so much more scale, with the loud engine, smoke and nitro smell in the air! It’s definitely worth it and you get to learn something new👍

Thanks for sharing the maintenance involved with these nitros. Still not sure if I am sold on getting one but I will be following your journey with this nitro rustler to help me decide haha
So what did you think? It’s not that complicated is it? Now when things start to wear out and break down then I might have a different view on it lol, I’m not the most patient person to be honest, I’m hoping that this side of the hobby will help me with that, so far though I’m having a blast, You should give it a try when your ready it’s a lot of fun, o by the way I noticed you responded to my message but when I went to read it, it was gone?? @@rcreviews9894 not sure what happened with my other message but was saying I just took a few months break while I had a lot going on. That being said I've always wanted a nitro car so I can still see myself caving one day!
FYI if you put your air filter in a sandwich baggy then poor some oil in it then massage the filter in the bag. This works very well plus you do not get any oil on your hands !!!😁😁😁
I have a tmaxx 2.5 and I’m wondering after the 3 shots of wd-40 into the carb and glow plug hole do you flip the model upside down to get any extra wd-40 out or no
Sometimes but it’s not necessary, The most important thing is before you cycle the wd40, make sure to purge out any remaining fuel from the fuel lines by turning on the Rc and using the Ez- start for a few seconds to get any access fuel out, this was my first nitro, I’m hooked lol, just picked up the slash 3.3 and I’m loving it! The unboxing is here on the channel, maiden run coming soon! Thanks for watching 👍
@@rcreviews9894 so I was thinking do the first 2 10 second each cracks and then do the third one for 5 seconds then flip it upside down and do it for another 5 seconds
@@rcreviews9894 or do the regular 3 squirts of WD-40 in each hole and after your done that then turn it up side down and get it all out which one do you think would be better?
Yes i did, there is an optional nimh hump pack for the rustler, Traxxas part #3037, it’s around 30 dollars, it will save you having to constantly replace batteries, it works with the rustler and the Tmaxx 🤙

Great tip!
please don’t use WD-40 gust get after run oil
If or when you run out of air filter oil , you can get a can of K&N air filter oil. That spray can Will last years and years ! lol
Good advice bro, thanks!🤙
I have a zip tie on the airfilter, Should I keep it off or always keep it on?

How do you kill your engine?
To shut off the engine just squeeze the gas line leading to the carburetor
Sorry but thumbs down for the wd-40. 😢
OMG DO NOT use wd-40 in a Nitro motor. Or on plastics.
after how long should you change the aa batteries?
I would use good judgement and change your batteries depending on how often you run the truck just to be safe.
@@rcreviews9894 ok thanks!
