- A Coast Guard Sector San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew conducts rescue training off the coast of Newport Beach, California, May 4, 2015. The training gives pilots, rescue swimmers and flight mechanics the opportunity to practice rescue techniques with active Coast Guard personnel and simulate real persons in distress. U.S. Coast Guard video by Petty Officer 2nd Class Rob Simpson.
thought i had the coolest job during summer being life guard at local beach.....hello...that was like being in the kiddie pool compared to these guys. watched some coast guard training films.....much respect.
I've watched a while bunch of POV videos, and this one's pretty good.
Perfect organization, perfect professionnals And perfect men ! Thank you USCG from Europe !
Thank you, USCG, from Kansas. Yeah. I'm a Jayhawk. Even despite being in Kansas, I have had the pleasure of the Coast Guard Auxiliary having rescued us on Lake Perry, when our engine suffered electrical problems, and we were towed by the Coast Guard Auxiliary, to the marina. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks to the USCG! We all appreciate what you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job all around Rob:) Cheers from Ottawa, Ontario. 🐟

Is it standard for the rescue swimmer to always dive underneath the victim before making contact ?
Thanh Nguyen I'm not in the coast guard yet, but I was a lifeguard and we were taught to do that because the person will try to drag you down
