Absolutely loving your short films. Your videography and editing are of the highest standard. Did you train (no pun intended) in film? Keep the videos coming, really enjoying your work.
Hi, and thanks for the comments, tho some of the earlier vids are rough as it was very early days of VHS cameras plus my miserable wage at the time didnt allow for a fluid head tripod (or a tripod at all to begin with!). Ive always had an interest in capturing images and editing etc and as Ive acknowledged elsewhere on here, Ive been very fortunate to have knocked around with some of the ABC's top camera operators and editors in the country some time back and gained some valuable guidance. I was determined to work on Landline as it has always presented the best opportunities for the style of capture I like most, tho in the end I took another direction. I particularly enjoy combining music and vision and the way the music can affect how someone views the images, if that makes sense. Some of the earlier postings are old VHS to VHS edits some of which have some how ended up being digitised at the wrong frame rate - 24fps instead of 25. I intend to re-edit these once I digitise all the original camera tapes and re-post. I moved away from the subject of video for a quite a while but the purchase of a good quality drone re-ignited my interest. Also just spent a significant sum on a new 4k semi pro camcorder and accessories so there will be more ground based shots cut into drone shots. Time is a problem atm tho :-(
I travelled in 4420 when she had the yellow ended reverse colour livery on a Clyde to Enfield metropolitan goods trip as a boy in 1982 with a church friend who was a driver , diesel and suburban sets qualified . I later did S and K set trips with them .
Cheers Dave. Ive been busy doing other things lately and kind of hurriedly threw this together and forgot to colour correct the shunting shots at the end dammit. The crew were just awesome guys, hope they are still around on the surface of the planet. If you or anyone else could identify the main locations in the video it wld be appreciated as I will prob add them to the video at a later date (as well as fix up some colours!)
I saw Kempsy which is 503.500, 534.585 Is Eungai ,Macksville is 552.400,Urunga is 580.900 over the bridge at Nana Glen 639.000,XPT is at Kungala 665.000 Down train over viaduct at Grafton City
Thx Henk, much appreciated. It was so long ago and even tho ive been up thru the area a few times, Ive never been able to really grasp all the place names.
Nothing like a 251 Alco, despised by the EMD nuts, but the workhorse of NSWGR. Did their stuff and then some.👌
The 44's and 930's (followed closely by 830's and 48's) were only marginally behind the EE's in my world!
the sound like a big lazy 6 (or 12) cylinder diesel. EMDs always sound like they are working harder than these.
They ( 42 ,421,422 ,47,49 class ) produced two power strokes and not half of that . This is why Alco's sound more leisurely .@@annyer262

Great footage mate 👍
Great work Ted, an old fashioned mixed freight. Seldom see a seven car XPT these days.
