Thank you Alan for all your good videos and information on these wonderful clocks! They have taken out a lot of the mystery concerning these clocks. I have a couple of them that I got going thanks to you-----Gary
Thank you Gary. I am pleased the videos helped. I too think these clocks are wonderful and I don't like people to be afraid of them. The electrical components can be intimidating but once understood are as reliable as the movements.
I have about a dozen clocks that's been handed down to me from a grandfatherclock all the way to some watches really found this interesting going to try to fix them Let The Madness begin
I know you will find the dozen clocks to all be fascinating. If there is an electro-mechanical clock in the group it will be doubly fascinating. Enjoy. Thank you for watching my video.
Hi Alan, I have a Self Winding Clock company clock with a second hand which was used in a broadcast studio. it winds approximately every seven minutes. Can you tell me what's inside which makes it rewind at such frequency. It doesn't seem to wind at the same times each hour. Thank you, I really appreciate your videos.
Hi Alan D, Apparently the reason for winding more frequently than one time each 60 minutes was to shorten the wind duration and make less prolonged noise. The multiple wind sweep second clocks that I have seen have a 12 tooth wheel rather than the usual single lobe cam. The contact closes and the clock winds for a very short duration each 5 minutes. The time between each 5 minute wind cycle might not be exactly the same but it seems that total time each hour should be the same. I am going to check mine. Thanks for watching my videos.
Hmm, I have one but the magnet it not rewinding, one of the tiny spring like wires that is attached to the magnets are loose and I don’t know where to solder it back on to.
J.Allen Bloore. My friend who serviced these and gave me my clock has gotten older and my self wide mechanism does not engage the winding cam. I can no longer call upon him for repairs. Is this something I could ship to you for repair? Jamie

Edison style components attached to a conventional clock mechanism I really like it thanks a lot Dave
Yeah the accuracy of time pieces have driven technology even today clocks are keeping satellites in orbit
