has anyone been able to figure out which Keyboard on Broadway plays the part of the interlude between verses during ALAYM that the Brass in other productions plays?

Hi @disneydanny2 thanks for commenting! 🙂 I hadn’t realised that the brass parts in the ALAYM interlude are not in the original orchestrations until now and found that quite interesting!
Sadly, I haven’t seen the original William David Brohn orchestrations for Broadway, but I’ve read that it contains 3 keyboards as opposed to the 4 used in the touring productions.
The part that you mentioned is played by Keyboard 1 (Piano patch) alongside the brass instruments in the US tour orchestration, and I’d presume that it is likewise covered by Keyboard 1 in the Broadway version. This is because it contains the leading melody which is usually dominated by the first keyboard. 🎹 I could be wrong though!

@@brandonmeersyoutube iirc, they were added during the planning for the 1st National tour, and for whatever reason, not implemented in the Broadway production, even though other sit-down productions use it too.
