Birmingham engravers always make the best coins. The US mint made a good choice picking up Mr. Morgan!

My theory on them calling George T Morgan out on the reverse tail feathers was it was Charles Barber being jealous! Haha. Barber was the Chief Engraver and was super bummed out about this guy from England coming over and getting his design picked for the Morgan Dollar. So I feel like he was looking for any excuse to say that Morgan's design was wrong. Morgan ended up taking his job eventually, which I think is hilarious. Nice work getting that date run started!

Hey CY, I’ve tried checking myself, without a definitive answer, but I’m going to put you on the spot 🙏, why is San Francisco mint mark “S” (first letter) but the New Orleans mint mark is “O”. (First letter of the second word!!). I’ve always wondered why???? .
