I'm a landscaper and one time my boss found a mullein plant on a job. He called me over and i didn't know what i was looking at. I ended up finding herbal jedis video on mullein just from my RUclips recommended and i went "THATS IT! THAT'S THE WEIRD CORN-LOOKIN-PLANT-FUZZY-THING". I never used to care about plants outside of woodworking but now I'm the crazy guy stopping by the side of the road looking for herbs. We find pretty much all these plants on job sites all the time so I'm trying to start my own herb garden

I had a Cleaver plant in my sunroom. Took a pot inside with a failing fruit tree cutting and it had a little cleaver in it that I ignored and let grow. The tree cutting died but the cleaver lived on. It struggled to live and I babied it and started talking to it...mostly for self-entertainment silliness. It soon turned into an absolutely beautiful luscious plant. I named it Beaver Cleaver. LOL. People asked what it was and I told them it was my weed friend Beaver Cleaver. "The Beve" stayed healthy and well for quite some time, but eventually went to seed and died out. I missed my scrappy sunroom Beaver Cleaver, but I had rested his remains in an obscure spot by a cyclone fence at my farm. In the spring I realized he's come back to see me again, only bigger, more lush and hearty than ever! LOL! Taught me a real lesson in appreciation plants that I have ignored and didn't give much consideration to. The neighbors now think I'm the crazy old lady gardener who propagates "weeds"! And that I AM! LOL!

Honestly, you need to start traveling and hosting seminars for people to to come to learn from you! I think you would do amazing! You would be sharing knowledge, making some extra money, for the traveling and the family, as well as seeing the world! I know that I would buy a ticket, every time that you came to my area! You could even collect natural herbs from each area and then have the seminars on what you've found in the immediate area, so the people who come, know that they can, not only find them, but also, exactly what their uses are!

I add these chopped up to scrambled eggs for a little extra nutrition. Tastes great that way. I’ve never tried roasting the little “beans” for a coffee substitute but I hear it’s good. Would probably take a while to collect quite a bit though. I’ll stick to chicory for that. Nice vid!

Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Just yesterday, I found cleavers growing on my property and was so thrilled because I knew it was yet another wild medicinal that I can add to the other wild herbals growing here. However, I didn't know it's particulars until I found your video and learned it's benefits. Now it will join the red clover, alfalfa, both plantains, dandelions, yarrow, wild rose, willow and others I'm still looking to learn about. Thanks again, Yarrow. :-D

What a wonderful Plant. I've heard that the little seed pods when very mature can be roasted for a coffee. I feel the medicine best if fresh so freezing seems to be the best way to store it, although a tincture can be made, it would be less medicinal.

Nice presentation but I would have liked to hear how to use it as a smoothie, or you put boiling water for tea or rather just soak it? Maybe somebody finds this post an can answer me. Thanks!

Hi. I had questions too. I made a short video recently on how to make a cold infusion and a tincture with cleavers- title is “spring tonic. “
I’m also drying it for tea in winter.

Just to add: a cold infusion preserves more of the good stuff in it. Boiling the fresh greens can destroy that. If you look at the description under the video, there are directions and a link to the science and dosage.

Could this plant be be bundled and hung to dry for use in the off season? I have insane amounts of this growing on my property and would love to have it for more than the few months a year that it takes over my yard.
