I especially love the fact that you can use DeX without a TV or display to connect to. You can simply jump into the desktop mode any time. Add Bluetooth keyboard and mouse as needed. Brilliant!
I am thinking of going back to Android. After about a decade of staying on iOS (my last android was a Nexus lol) but I don’t know what’s the latest releases or what’s good. So this came out in the perfect time! Also I love your hair! Its so colorful and I’m colorblind so I can only imagine how much more it is when viewed with good eyes.
Beautiful device. Ive been using it everyday since i picked it up from samsung. I complained about the price of the keyboard but im glad i got it. Its very useful. The display is unmatched. I too would like some game recommendations so ill check the comments. Thanks for sharing!
I just wanted to mention that the spen doesn't need to be charged to work. It only uses the battery for the air gestures, for drawing or note-taking, you can even use a third party one, i use a wacom one pen and works the same
Yes, I didn't include that detail in the video! You can still use it, but it loses a lot of it's cool features if the battery is dead. This isn't new info for SPens (they've worked like this for years) so I didn't touch on that.
Had the s8 ultra tablet , did the trade in with samsung for the s9 ultra tab 1tb model !! With sd card support 👍 - cant state enough the keyboard case brings the experience to another level , Great video 👍
Got my s9 base and its amazing....like literally same spec across all s9 models except its smaller and so portable....literally so good for work entertainment and i use A24 and this tab is definitely what i need with my laptop to study work and watch movie.....❤....800 dolars and its worth every penny ( gonna last atleast 5 years and probably more )
I've been running an s7+ for 2 years and love it. I use it for entertainment and as a laptop replacement as well with a keyboard and mouse. I've even used it for work when unexpectedly evacuated from my home due to wildfire. I am in the process of trading up to the s9 ultra and ironically (?), got evacuated due to wildfire again so the new one is sitting in a postal service warehouse somewhere while I wait to be able to return home.
I doubt I'll be able to justify a tablet this expensive in my foreseeable future, but I watched your whole review anyway. That's partly because I hope to see features in flagship products like this trickle down to more affordable ones, so it's good to learn about them, and partly because I think your feature-focused reviews are models of how reviews should be done. So practical -- you show what features are noteworthy, briefly how to use them and why you like them. BTW, the refreshed hair coloring looks great on you. (Forgive me if it wasn't new for this video, but I was on vaca and away from RUclips for the last few weeks, so it was new to me.)
Try to get the keyboard cover with trackpad, it's expensive, but takes it to a whole different level. And DeX can be used directly with the Tab S9 and is a multitasking laptop replacement KING.
Game recommendations: Titan Quest Legendary Edition, Final Fantasy 3 or 4. For Titan Quest, turn off cloud save (buggy), reduce refresh rate (to save battery). I'm happy with my Tab S9+ because that is the absolute maximum that I can comfortably cradle in my arms for long RUclips or reading sessions on the couch.
Oh shoot, I remember using your Nexus 7 guide back then. I also have barely done the tablet thing over the years, except for a brief stint with a Surface 3.

It surprised me because Samsung wanted to follow Apple's pricing policies on the last generation of Tablets, which were abusive and had little to offer.
Excellent review, thank you. One question... My use case would be to simultaneously read and take notes. Based on your experience, would that work well with this large screen? I would open a PDF or EPUB on the left, and a notetaking app like Samsung Notes or OneNote on the right... What is your opinion?
Nice review! Subscribed. Bought one from Samsung last week and waiting to get it. Probably T-Mobile doesn't know what they're talking about, but they told me I could use a sim card or eSim with it? @@ShannonMorse it's cool with just wifi. So, here's what they told me last week. They claimed that the sim card goes in on one side of the slot, and the micro sd on the other side, instead of separate slots. Then the agent went on to say that I could also call them back to do an eSim with Samsung's pre-installed software, which I was reluctant to believe. They're probably just making up stories. Smh. I got the Smart Book Cover, it does the Job in protecting it, holding the pen and being a stand. The keyboard cover costs $549 in Australia, thats a bit too expensive for me, so will be using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Also never thought I would be using the S Pen as much as I do, absolutely a delight to use just for general navigation and quick writing, it also picks up my chicken scratch handwriting lol, Overall best Tab I have ever had, pairs amazingly with my S23 Ultra and Buds.
Depends on your work. If there's an app for your work, you definitely can. For example, I bought the keyboard case for it and last night I wrote another video script while having my browser open in multi window.
I *really* like the construction of this tablet and it looks like it would be a really good fit for my needs *BUT* the notch is a huge deal breaker for me (like it is in all devices with a notch). I won't buy a tablet, phone, or computer with a notch or a hole punch camera. period. I hate it when there's a chunk taken out of my display. it makes it way more difficult to use remote desktop applications and the like, there are some games that it doesn't work well with, and it's just a pain... this is a HUGE issue for me as for some annoying reason, MOST companies are now using notch or hole punch designs... bugs the crap out of me. The only phones that I've seen without such a design are the (actually excellent) sony xperia phones (I currently have a 1 II and it's great, and will likely be upgrading to the 1 V in a couple of months), the other is the ROG phone which is great in that it's 16:9 (which is my overall preference... the sony xperia 1 phones are 21:9 so you have to look at black bars on either side of your phone when you watch standard content (and it's WAY worse looking at portrait content in vertical orientation). but the xperia 1 has really good water and dust ingress resistance whereas the rog phone doesn't, and for something I carry on me every day, I really want that additional protection, also I have a wall mount in my shower and enjoy watching / listening to tech news while I shower. - oh, and dual front firing speakers are required on any phone I buy as well... why have these trends (an unimpeded display without notches or holepunches, and front firing stereo speakers) gone away with modern phones!? anyway, sorry about the rant, this looks like a fantastic device, but the notch is a deal breaker for me... my question for the samsung galaxy tab s9 ultra would be how long is the software support for it? - many android device manufacturers don't seem to want to support their device by giving them the latest android software updates beyond 2 years of release and I think that's abysmal (sony does this too unfortunately)... this leads to a situation where you have a perfectly good, very performant piece of hardware that is no longer receiving major operating system releases or security updates which means at that point either you trust a community release of android (Which often breaks hardware features and can be very hit or miss), you stick with the last oem released version (Which given how often bugs and security vulnerabilities are found with a vibrant developer community like android is NOT a good idea if you value security / privacy), or you basically have a ewaste which is a really big shame and a total waste. my xperia 1 II hasn't received updates for over a year now, it's a very performant device that does everything I need it to, but I can't continue to use it because it's os is out of date and probably insecure. we need some consumer pressure to push these companies into supporting these devices for AT LEAST 5-8 years (especially now that innovation is slowing down in the phone space and for most normies a 5 year old phone is perfectly suitable in terms of performance...
I can't believe someone would write a novel based on a notch. You want a tablet to last 7 - 8 years? I can sell you a Galaxy Note 10.1 from 2013 really cheap. You'll really appreciate Android 4.1.
Thank you for the love on this video! If you want to snag an S9 (or any Samsung products tbh lol) here's my affiliate link: howl.me/cktzezxmgL7 *

This is a beast, does anything I throw at it and that screen, OMG!! content is so good to watch and create.
I got the Smart Book Cover, it does the Job in protecting it, holding the pen and being a stand. The keyboard cover costs $549 in Australia, thats a bit too expensive for me, so will be using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Also never thought I would be using the S Pen as much as I do, absolutely a delight to use just for general navigation and quick writing, it also picks up my chicken scratch handwriting lol,
Overall best Tab I have ever had, pairs amazingly with my S23 Ultra and Buds.

Crazy now these prices became common
I wonder if you can actually use this tablet for real work
Depends on your work.
