One of my Christian Catholic friend asked me that Why is there so fuss on building a Ram Mandir in the same place. He said many Hindus & Muslims have lost their lives in last 70 years in riots. Govt. Should built there some hospital or some national monument to avoid religious conflict. I told him why don't your Pope demolished the main church in Vatacian city & built some hospital or playground or education university.
Vatican has enough hospitals and pretty much everything needed for thier population. Many churches in US and Europe has already shut down... Not the case in india.. People will die in numbers around us due to insufficient health care, infrastructure but it will never unite the whole lot of us.. For us its still religion and caste and regionalism that invokes a sense of unity and pride, not the civic sense of being in a self sustained, developing society.. I mean what do you expect when the intelligent ones are trying to escape the country while the illiterate, stupid ones are running the whole nation

But secularists must know that even America rebuilt the Twin Tower building in New York after it was destroyed because it was their national pride. Same is the case with Babri Masjid. Destruction of Ram temple and other temples in India was nothing but terrorist attacks on India by Islamic invaders like Aurangzeb. With regards to your argument on people leaving Kerala. That is because of Pinnrais downtrodden time. People in Kerala has always been migrating to gulf, Africa, US or Europe since the 70's. In my opinion, such moves along with uniform civil code and removal of other unfair advantages given to certain section of the society will help repair the holes in our social fabric and strengthen it further. Like Muslims & Christians, Hindus have full rights to practice their religion to their hearts' content irrespective of whether people from other religions like it. It's natural for minorities to feel uncomfortable seeing a resurgent majority. But the faster they adapt to the new situation and move along nicely, the better for our nation as a whole.
