Fishermen have been observing a decrease in the number of fish in the Nile and northern lakes over the years, which has had a negative impact on the size of their catches and, consequently, on their livelihoods. Pollution plays a role in this, as do practices and policies that affect fishery resources in various ways. In this video, fishermen working on the Nile and Lake Idku share their observations of changes in their aquatic work environments that have resulted in their pulling in empty nets.
