I think Midir has to be my favourite fight in the whole trilogy, such an incredible visual spectacle and one of the best (if not *THE* best) dragon fights in FromSoftware history. The arena it takes place in is also supposedly the place we see the furtive pygmy (so easily forgotten) in the DS1 intro cinematic, tying it to the lore in a big way considering the Ringed City was built by Gwyn for the pygmies! Fun fact: Lapp/Patches in the shared grave kicks you down to the only way to progress through. Even after losing himself, then regaining his memory, he actually ends up helping as his final appearance in the trilogy (apart from his summon outside a certain boss you unlock by doing his questline). Such a bittersweet send-off to the character in the Dark Souls trilogy, and to the trilogy itself in a way. "A fine dark soul to you" indeed, this is certainly the finest in the trilogy in a lot of people's eyes.
Midir is my favorite DS3 boss. For the longest time, I couldn’t beat ‘em without summoning help. But for the first time (about six months ago) I finally manned up and got good. I studied their patterns carefully, figuring out exactly when to dodge and when to attack. Finally, I beat Midir solo and it was the most satisfied I ever felt in a soulsbourne game.
midir is such a fun fight after you figure it out. I like how it punishes you hard for going under him and forces you to fight right in front of it because that really makes him more of a spectacle than any of the other dragon bosses in these games.
@@lahunica2726hat's just like your opinion man No but in all fairness, I think placidusax's arena is much more of a spectacle, the actual fight, not so much. @@biomewtrix4996 The way to enter Placidusax arena is better, time travel, flotting ruins, an arena inside a storm. I feel like a lot of fights in FromSoft games are like that of going south so fast. My usual truck is forgetting an elevator isn’t back in place and plummeting to my death. 😂

Oorbec needs one last scroll in Faron Keep swamp very close to the Perimeter bonfire, literally down a hole in the wall with basilisks around it. Midir is in my top 5 Fights in the series and how good the fight is really depends on how you fight him. If u go for the tail or the feet the fight is dreadful but following these 2 simple rules make this fight a masterpiece: 1. ALWAYS go for the head 2. ALWAYS stay in Front of him, dont roll INTO him, roll AWAY from him

There are a few beast bosses in From's catalogue that clearly just had an unbelievable amount of love and care put into them and this is perhaps the greatest of them all. What a nice victory! You were really in the zone at the end, great performance! can't wait for the next/final video for DS3 👍
41:47 it’s moments like these that bring me back to my first play through the game.
damn the next one is the finale ive been watching you since bloodborne you have grown a lot may you find your worth in the waking world
Finally, the 1v1 I’ve been waiting for. Everything about Midir is top-notch, especially his OST which I feel is the best right above Nameless King.
The intro is truly one of the Dark Soul moments of all time
Patches does actually go hollow if you don't find the monument for him, so you actually saved him. And in return he kicked you toward the right path
First demon souls because it is the same way of playing. Sekkiro feels way different. Keep up the good work!
Yoo Mati I’m not sure if you’ll see this with how many comments you’ve been getting so quickly now, which is awesome by the way, but I just wanted to say how amazing it’s been to see you’re community grow since the Elden Ring days. You deserve every single subscriber and view you get with the amount of time and effort and love you put into every video. It’s also been such a treat to watch you grow and develop while playing these games and to see how good you’ve gotten. It seems like just yesterday you were playing Bloodborne! Anyways I just wanted to send you some love and I hope everything is going good, I remember you mentioned things were kinda rough right now so I hope everything is okay. Much love to you my friend!
I see you Kai!! You just made my night bro not often do I take the time to look back but comments like these take me right back to those days. I owe everything to peeps like u that rocked with me from the beginning and we’re just getting started
@@matiasgagoI appreciate you always taking the time to interact with the community on videos even with how much you’ve grown, you’re a real one bro! I’m glad to be here along on this ride with you and everyone else too and can’t wait to see everything else you do! Thank you for the kind words and I wish nothing but the best for you too my friend!
Nice! was really looking forward to this episode.
Appreciate you being here 🫶🏽
Hi Mati! Loved your video❤ it’s so cool to see the whole journey across the souls series once again. I hope you continue with Senior as well. Congratulations on beating Midir 🎉, he’s definitely my favorite dragon of the entire soulsborne series.
So how invasions work is if you are embered, invaders will then be able to enter your world. Many invaders are NPC invaders which drop unique items and sometimes have lore implications. If you don't want to deal with player invaders, you can play in offline mode and still ember to fight regular NPC invaders but not have to deal with PVP. Hope this helps you out and praise the sun!
What a great episode! Midir is one of my favorite bosses in the series. It's such a cool fight, man! 🔥
Ngl, I'm a little sad to think that we're already so close to the end of DS3. I'm going to miss this series so much :')
Hello from Australia mati 👋 i really think you should do Sekiro next. You'll love it! And it switches it up a bit. Love the videos mate
Great stuff. Midir is a rough fight. Always impressed by your determination and attitude.
Fantastic video sir. When you posture broke him but couldn’t capitalize on it I was HOWLING at my screen. Well done on the win inspire of that though!
LETS GOOOOOO! You couldn't have uploaded at a better time, midir is so fucking cool, can't wait for the finally!
Even most big gameplay youtubers suffers from doing rly long videos. But you my man slaps with wievs and we all know why. You are our sun and thats why we prise you!
Cant wait for sekiro my fav game fromsoft ever made ❤.
Man watching you struggle and improve against Midir really makes that victory even better
my son (15 at the time) and I did a coop run through the game last summer, and he figured out to how to beat midir without getting hit. it was insane to watch as I struggled with it more than any other boss in the game!! also, the weapon you get from defeating midir is amazing.
This is the only bossfight that I had to step away from the game for a few weeks to come back and beat it. Amazing game and so sad it’s coming to an end
Great fight against Midir:) At first you kept staying under him, but then you got the hang of it and pulled it through, really cool
It was very fun to watch you learn the moves, it took me much longer to realize you had to stay in front of him
The big crickets are saying "I shall partake" as in eat you. This goes along with the whole "fear not the dark, and let the FEAST begin" Also an item description said the crickets preach to man to lure them to the darkness, which is why you're finding multiple friendly crickets giving you cryptic mini sermons, to try and lure you to dark
im so frickin excited for you to play sekiro. im gonna play it again and pace with your videos, cant be ready fast enough
Midir is in my top 5 Fights in the series and how good the fight is really depends on how you fight him. If u go for the tail or the feet the fight is dreadful but following these 2 simple rules make this fight a masterpiece:
1. ALWAYS go for the head
2. ALWAYS stay in Front of him, dont roll INTO him, roll AWAY from him
Just in time, thanks Mati ❤️
Thank u for being here 🙌🏽
I knew this video was gonna be a treat when you missed the monday upload
You did it, man. You have no idea how many of us were looking forward to this moment. Lol
It's insane to me that this series is about to end. My body is already ready for Demon's Souls and Sekiro, but every Dark Souls video was an absolute experience to watch. It's been so much fun vicariously experiencing your first time with the series. Next episode is going to be epic...
This vid is a solid birthday gift lol Thanks Mati 😜
Happy birthday my dude 🙌🏽
@@matiasgago Thanks man, excellent video as always 🔥
this man gonna inspire me to finish sekiro next!!! already got me to finish ds1 for the first time and then ds3 again!
Love to hear that bro 😎 we in this together
@@matiasgago We got this!!! I look forward to struggling together in sekiro!
At 13:46 you catch a glimpse of Midir clinging to the building you're talking about, which is what the message on the staircase was trying to point out. The big beastie is watching our Ashen character like the good little guard dog they are.
Dude I can’t wait to see you play Sekiro next. Huge props to you on a great ds3 playthrough, one of my new fave yt series to have been looking forward to!
MAN i thought you werent gonna upload i smiled so hard when i saw you uploaded
NICE!! Thanks for all the work editing!!
Hand it over. That thing, your next upload!
I dunno what is it with Mati's videos but they always fly by so quick and legit do not feel as long as the timeline says!
What the cricket man was saying is "I shall...partake"
Bro you had me scared for a moment, good to know to you are ok !!!
Midir destroyed my life for so long hahahah. Looking forward to getting through this video 🙌
Mati hardswapping during the invasion warmed my cold invader heart
Hey Mati !
Thanks to your video, I get the courage to face Midir (last boss left on my magic knight run). I slay him \o/
This boss battle is so fun. When you get the windows to punish him, it's so satisfying 😉
Looking forward for your next and last DS3 video 👍
Hope you'll look toward Sekiro for the next game : I love this one so much.
Darkeater Midir is my FAVORITE dragon boss fight. If you were having an easy time before that, then Midir will force you to learn everything necessary to defeat any boss, then you will prevail. 🙌☀️
Had to get those last 2 kicks in too, my dog
Brooo, I can’t wait for this next one
personally i find Midir to be the hardest from soft boss without just being "cheap" difficulty glad you took care of that monster, but don't worry there's still another boss that rivals and in some people's opinion may even surpass Midir's difficulty and i'm very much looking forward to watching you triumph over him!
Loved your bloodborne play through. Catching the end of Dark Souls 3, I’m excited to see what game gets picked next
Good job with Midir my dude, you did well, you stayed tenacious!
Thanks great work
Appreciate you Teddy
THE DRIP IN THE RINGED CITY IS SO GOOD i love this game sm :,)
I had to farm their armor.
Looks bad ass in the final boss cutscene
There are a few beast bosses in From's catalogue that clearly just had an unbelievable amount of love and care put into them and this is perhaps the greatest of them all.
Music, visual design, realistic animations, learnable combos, perfect tells for every attack, the jaw dropping spectacle of the laser attacks.
It's just the type of enemy that most developers can only dream of creating.
All the way through elden ring, bloodborne, dark souls 1... Most episodes of dark souls 2 and now... Here i am. It feels like a fever dream actually, in a good way.
I'll miss the soulsborne series in this channel so much. At least we still have sekiro and demon souls right? Damn...
