Kinda wish that they added a mechanic to the game where if you have a dispenser or dropper next to a tilled area of soil, if you put in seeds or potatoes or carrots and you set it off, it planted them. Then there could be more auto farms.
I'd really appreciate an updated version of this with the new redstone elements (comparators, observers, etc.), I think you could make a completely hands off auto farm with those. :)
Watching this in 2019 and I must say...your voice in this video makes me gasp for air. It sounds like you are really straining! Compared to now where it's super soothing and nice lol
The best I can say is to detect on a dropper that then reverse pole starts the cart out once it is empty having had either dropped to your inv and then hopper directly below rail as an overflow of sorts unless it does not go into the inv first.
pressing the ALT key while holding down a key will cause that key to stay activated ingame. this technice can be used anytime with any button. you can even click in the window again and keep playing with that 'stuck' button.
Thank you Jarko for being polite to these people. many people in your situation would have flipped out but you kept it calm. so thank you. the internet needs more people like you
You should probably want to BUD the nether wart instead, so that when they fully grow the pistons extend to harvest the netherwart (it's possible to make a bud that has to trigger 3 times before you get an output, which is what you would need for this farm due to netherwart having 3 stages)
Tutorial: Dispenser aimed at a wooden pressure pad, wooden pressure pad on top of a solid block, redstone torch on the side of the solid block, dispenser on top of the redstone block, repeat 2 more times. Make it so the last wooden pressure pad powers your row of pistons and your first dispenser. Finally build a looping circuit of minecart tracks and you are done my dear sir ;)
Hi Mumbo, I did some calculations and the ideal harvest time for nether wart is about 72 minutes after planting, assuming all plants are harvested, although you can get about 85% of that maximum at 50 minutes after planting.
they came out virtually the same time. Seth had been working on a design for a week. they just so happen to have similar designs that came out minutes apart
Handy Tip: You can use the fortune enchantment on wheat, grass, potatoes, carrots, melons, nether wart, glowstone and gravel. Wheat: More seeds from harvest. Potatoes: More potatoes from harvest. Carrots: More carrots from harvest. Grass: More chance of getting seeds. Gravel: More chance of getting flint. Glowstone: More dust from harvest. Melons: More melons from harvest Netherwart: More netherwart from harvest
no, but you can go outside and enjoy the weather while harvesting nether wart, so it is fully automatic, since once started, it keeps running untill you decide to turn it off.
The truth is Mumbo is a superhuman and he just dragged the time marker all the way to the end and instantly knew what he did in that video and got to work right away finishing all of that in less than 3 mins.
the collecting isn't the main problem for this farm, you have to ride the minecart in order to let the planting go automatically, and by farming and planting it like this, you also never run out of nether wart.
Despite all the latest additions to command blocks you still remain in survival. It seems as of recently that the updates have been mainly focused on adventure map makers rather than survival. It is crazy how much you have influenced the redstoners (including me) and redstone in general. I don't know how you can continue to innovative and original stuff for so long, using just survival! Because of these things, I tip my hat to you, my mine charming, mustashed friend.
Hi Mumbo! I have an idea. What if you just lower the track one block and instead of a player in the minecart you use a hopperminecart. And when the minecart passes by, the netherwart is pushed out, into the hopperminecart. I actually don't know if this idea works and you have to replant the nether wart by yourself too :)
For the required keyboard-interactive part, one could use a simple script using a multitude of tools. I use a script for the windows freeware app, AutoIT, to constantly and infinitely left click (for unattended xp farming) and another script for constant key depression, so I can go forward in a boat unattended. These scripts are only 5 lines long. Just food for thought if it might be useful for other minecrafters out there.
The maximum pulse interval you can get using a hopper clock is 3 minutes something seconds. Not more than 4 minutes. Which makes it unreliable in this design because Nether Wart growth rate are fairly long and unpredictable.
@MumboJumbo I know this is a 4 year-old video but I think you can make it fully automatic using minecart with hopper. You just need an automatic-unloading system and that should be all!
Because if you let the harvested NW goes to hoppers, the NWs you are holding will eventually diminish. Once you're out, the replanting process stops. So it isn't effective.
I think a day light sensor powered clock set to output a pulse every day and push the pistons every day would work, since one minecraft day is just 20 minutes.
No I don't mean that once one is fully grown, they ALL harvest, but only that one nether wart. This would of course increase amount of redstone and space required, but it would be more efficient
Hi, Mumbo, can you do a simple design for a skeleton farmer which collects loot by itself? It would make it super easy to use the farming machines you have showed us earlier :)
But that would mean only 1 netherwart gets harvested when fully grown, with mumbo's design more netherwarts would have been fully grown by the time the 15 minutes it up
Wait! What if you use hoppers and attatch a redstone wire to your house. And label the light: "restock" so this way when the 15 min timer is done, you know!
Ignore him, you guys are both redstone inventors and be happy that you thought of the same thing. And bisides, Mumbo showed it in more detail, sethbling just was playing survival n stuff :D
awesome i built one that is stack able and totally works but i used a different timer because allot of servers these days remove entities to cut down on lag
You guys, I don't think he copied SethBling... they just happened to have the same idea at relatively the same time. Although the videos went up at nearly the same time, there's no way to know which one of them actually came up with the idea first. Besides they are both slightly different, so just leave it alone.
Hi Mumbo, I actually wirked a bit and came up with a farm that produces 495 wart per hour (NOT inclusing the first wart you bring in with you). I dent you a pm, so make sure to check my design out!
Yes because you can clearly record (probably took a few goes) and edit a 4 minutes and 17 seconds video and render and upload within 3 minutes of Sethbling uploading it
im not an expert at redstone but I do beleive that the first growth stage would also trigger the bud switch making it fail. somone can correct me if i'm wrong but i do beleive this is true
An interesting concept. However, as fast as this stuff grows, I think one could simply do with a flush system that would auto flush every so often. Then, you'd simply come back, and replant, flush, replant. Still, anyway you look at it, it's player interactive intensive. In this method, one should also make sure to disable sticky-keys.
To those saying I copied Sethbling.. they were posted within 3 minutes of one another. How could I manage that?
I respect you still 😊
Good point
Time travel
@Tobias Ah yes, another person
@@Sceptnado lemme join on in thid
Zombie pigmen should automatically replant nether wart like villagers with their crops
+Ethan Creeperz so true
+Ethan Creeperz Thanks omgg :D
I think it should be witches, not pigmen.
Pqroxysm new idea pig villagers
Mystic Cuber That wouldn't work so well in survival since witches are hostile.
hahahahahaha I love the old intro XD
Stumbling onto an old mumbo video from long before you started watching mumbo is strange... but cool none the less
Kinda wish that they added a mechanic to the game where if you have a dispenser or dropper next to a tilled area of soil, if you put in seeds or potatoes or carrots and you set it off, it planted them. Then there could be more auto farms.
Good idea but just dispenser. Dropper was made to drop the item that dispensers wont, like arrows, bonemeal, tnt, etc.
TheAgtlm YEah, actually that makes alot of sense.
That would ruin the game if that did that Nufy709
Shinx7009 How would it ruin it?
it would make food super ez 2 get with out and work chicken farms are hard
I'd really appreciate an updated version of this with the new redstone elements (comparators, observers, etc.), I think you could make a completely hands off auto farm with those. :)
@MumboJumbo, try to update this design. Use comperators.
Watching this in 2019 and I must say...your voice in this video makes me gasp for air. It sounds like you are really straining! Compared to now where it's super soothing and nice lol

they were only similar and came out at the same time. we just so happened to get to great minds showing us an idea for the same thing
You should probably want to BUD the nether wart instead, so that when they fully grow the pistons extend to harvest the netherwart (it's possible to make a bud that has to trigger 3 times before you get an output, which is what you would need for this farm due to netherwart having 3 stages)

Oh how mumbo has evolved
they came out virtually the same time. Seth had been working on a design for a week. they just so happen to have similar designs that came out minutes apart
u can collect those netherwarts with water and hoppers it to the chest adn put a lamp to indicate when its harvested
It's not fully automatic, it's AFK-able.
Melons: More melons from harvest
Netherwart: More netherwart from harvest
You could put hoppers under the tracks by the wart. This make it keep going even with a full inventory.
Actually, he can just put hoppers below the soulsand, since soulsand is not a full block, hoppers can pick up items through the block.
no, but you can go outside and enjoy the weather while harvesting nether wart, so it is fully automatic, since once started, it keeps running untill you decide to turn it off.
That mumbo in the intro gave me more nightmares than Grians Elmo
mumbo if you use eggs in the droppers for the clock and put a hopper with some chicken on top you make the droppers infinatly suplied
issue with bud is, that there is 4 different stages of growth, so you'd need quite redstone monster to make the bud work only once per 4 updates.
Instead of rebinding your keys and putting a paper weight on your keyboard, you could rebind your key to CAPSLOCK, which would turn it into a toggle.
that's actually quite smart xD
Thank you, I do it when traveling in a boat to distant shores.
that would not work
only works on some keyboards
Actually doesn't work.

great minds think alike, both you and sethbling got the vid out in about the same time
You could change the button to "caps lock," and if you press it then it stays on forever
If you change right click to the caps lock key on a mac and turn on caps lock, you will constantly right click.
Because if you let the harvested NW goes to hoppers, the NWs you are holding will eventually diminish. Once you're out, the replanting process stops. So it isn't effective.

No I don't mean that once one is fully grown, they ALL harvest, but only that one nether wart. This would of course increase amount of redstone and space required, but it would be more efficient
Mumbo, I have an idea. Improve it with hoppers and droppers, as well as comparators, hoppercarts, chestcarts, etc.
i think blaze powder would work the same as bone meal on normal crops but on nether warts
Looks fine thanks for the idea
I hate it when anyone says you copied from someone else.
you pick them up as you ride, that's the idea.
just make a regular skeleton farm, then after they die, use hoppers to collect the items and store them in a chest.
I'm working on a design that's not only stackable but also expandable and it can have multiple farms in one
Well, this is an old video
Personally I think yours is MUCH better, plus his is fairly different.
Still waiting for someone to use the villagers to make an automatic wheat/potato/carrot farm,
so awesome, i already have ideas on how to improve it.
You can also just detach they mouse fom the computer or if u have a mouse pad you just turn it off
Very carefully bud...LOL! Don't mind people, thank you for sharing! Great concept!
actually, xisuma was talking about the same concept way earlier!
he is just very smart
Hi, Mumbo, can you do a simple design for a skeleton farmer which collects loot by itself? It would make it super easy to use the farming machines you have showed us earlier :)
Sethbling now use only MC edit...But is good to see so awesome redstoner like you!
Great minds think alike they say, so I guess that'll apply in this situation then.
Ignore him, you guys are both redstone inventors and be happy that you thought of the same thing. And bisides, Mumbo showed it in more detail, sethbling just was playing survival n stuff :D
awesome i built one that is stack able and totally works but i used a different timer because allot of servers these days remove entities to cut down on lag
check the timings. also they differ quite a bit
Mumbo you are awesome !
Because Mumbo... your a god.
Make a giant netherwart farm for your "too small"-series :)
I'm gonna try to improve on it. Patience.
Frick I miss video responses
Minecart with hopper *_*
no because there are multiple stages of the nether warts growing. the bud switch would break the nether warts before they were done
You guys, I don't think he copied SethBling... they just happened to have the same idea at relatively the same time. Although the videos went up at nearly the same time, there's no way to know which one of them actually came up with the idea first. Besides they are both slightly different, so just leave it alone.
I never said it was the best one, I was just letting people see other options, and I'm also sorry that you think it is crappy.
Why did every youtuber forget that if you put lava under it it only takes 4-6 minutes? i mean, that was there since netherwart was there
You've found a way to use magic irl by using redstone, don't deny it =D
look at the video timings. they went up wothin 3 minutes. some flaws in seths. it doesn't auto harvest and you can't afk it
PROTIP: tape your mouse with tape
NAILED IT!
I could have sworn that Xisuma done the exact same farm
not anymore sadly enough, they fixed that in one of the more recent updates
Hi Mumbo, I actually wirked a bit and came up with a farm that produces 495 wart per hour (NOT inclusing the first wart you bring in with you). I dent you a pm, so make sure to check my design out!
That's one way, there are many others, including the F10 trick.
Auto not equal AFK, but whatever nice design
but you still have to pull the trigger if an fully automatic gun
Pretty cool stuff.
so this is like the AFK-cow-farm on the Hermitcraft server?
Don't put hoppers down, just clear your hotbar.
Yes because you can clearly record (probably took a few goes) and edit a 4 minutes and 17 seconds video and render and upload within 3 minutes of Sethbling uploading it
It also has a chance that the game never stops R-clicking.
Welcome back Quicke jumbo. :)
more your creation I will join your tourtorial
If you put dispensers to dispense the netherwart and hoppers under the soul sand would that work?
Sarcasm, its a beautiful thing isn't it?
No excuse needed here. If i want a survival redstone tutorial it will be Mumbo. if you want something with command blocks it will be Seth.
Too late by 3 minutes? This video is longer than the difference between upload times. So shut it.
im not an expert at redstone but I do beleive that the first growth stage would also trigger the bud switch making it fail. somone can correct me if i'm wrong but i do beleive this is true
he's got lots of those.
This is like Sethbling's. Is that where you got it from?
An interesting concept. However, as fast as this stuff grows, I think one could simply do with a flush system that would auto flush every so often. Then, you'd simply come back, and replant, flush, replant. Still, anyway you look at it, it's player interactive intensive. In this method, one should also make sure to disable sticky-keys.
u can tape your right mouse button
Sethblind also has this !!
These days it's called and AFK farm, like the fishing ones, it's the same concept
i love the music after your videos! ^-^
