Man! Your survival guide is top notch! (pun intended). Love the design of those nether brick roofs. I am so glad that you are nearly going to reach 100k (TBH you deserve over 10 times more subscribers). I think you need to make a smooth stone generator for your stone shortage. You probably know how to fix the accidental trapdoor trigger problem (use iron trapdoors). Anyways let's get to 100k!

Pixlriffs (for familiarity do you prefer "Pixl" or "Riffs"? :-O ) , I really appreciate how your videos are kind of "sciency" -- you explain how all the things fit together. Kudos.
According to Minecraft Forum, growing in lines or just lines of different variety plants in Minecraft will have a great impact on growing speed. As far as Minecraft growing priority detection tick speed goes, growing in strips will give you a great deal of more warts in this case. I recommend you try growing in lines to make your nether wart grow faster than you'd expect normally. Btw I watched your stream yesterday. Good luck.
Yes, but it is a trade-off between speed of growth, work load and harvest results. Essentially, if you need your harvest fast, plant in strips. If time is not an issue but you want a decent yield with every harvest, plant fields and harvest then. I would guess that probably the harvest per time (warts per hour or so) is similar in both cases. However, if you plant in strips you have to harvest and plant twice compared to fields where you harvest just once.
Can you use mine carts to plant and break (with fortune) netherwart faster instead of a water flow system? May not be completely viable for AFK but seems fun.
First of all the water is running through the trap doors. Second, soul sand kinda "traps" the water. I cant get rid of it by cutting off the water source (water "block").
Hey so since the nether update dropped, it's now possible to convert an entire soul sand valley into a nether wart farm right? Although the ghasts would disagree🤔
i think it might’ve been more efficient to go back to the basics and mine it manually with a fortune 3 pickaxe - because let’s say the fortune 3 gives you double the nether wart yield (and lets be honest it’s probably more than that): that means the only way it would be less efficient than the water would be if the time added to harvest manually made it take double the total collection time of the waterfall method, including growth time. and seeing as the bulk of time is spent waiting on it to grow, that just simply wouldn’t be the case
I just saw this on Gamepedia: The duration of each stage is random, with no upper or lower limit, but the average duration is about 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Sorry if i missed it Pix, but if I built this could I use a row of Dispensers for the water sources? I'm curious because maybe there is a reason they are not usable. Possibly expensive? Either way, thanks for this and every video alike!
I have very large fields in terraces where I grow wheat, potatoes and carrots for trading. The harvest mechanism is piston-driven and therefore very quick. Of course you still have to plant the veggies afterwards again. I am now working on a collecting structure using water and ice blocks and attach the collecting trenches to an auto-sorter. Water is a great helper in farming.
@Pixlriffs - Love your vids sensei. Would you consider making a video about managing diamonds? like what's the most important things to do with diamonds once you get it? Which comes first? Armor or Tools? etc. TIA
I've kinda done that with the first few episodes of the series, but here's a breakdown: Diamond pickaxe first, because you'll always be mining stuff, and it lets you mine obsidian. Enchanting table next, so you can enchant the diamond pickaxe with Efficiency & Unbreaking, try to get fortune (even if it's on an iron pickaxe) so you can acquire more diamonds. Diamond sword after that, better damage and longer lasting. Other tools and armour in any order after that. I usually go for tools first because they're cheaper and enchanted iron is still pretty good.
There is a lot of information on the Minecraft Wiki about the durability and effectiveness of the different materials for the varying tools, armour etc., and you can make a very rough "calculation" of how superior or not diamond is to iron. So far as I was able to extract from the text, diamond is MUCH better than iron for tools regarding durability, the factor is somewhere around 8 or so. If you look at armour however, the difference between iron and diamond regarding durability is I think just double, and regarding protection diamond is only around 25-30% better than iron. So, as Pixl said, diamond tools are really something you'll need, especially pick axe and sword. As for armour, you can use iron and never bother with diamond unless you have plenty of those to spare.
@@balticbirder thank you. I appreciate your time and input. As a noob to the game I found myself stuck in a state of confusion whenever I tried to manage my measurement of necessity between iron and diamond. I THINK if you harvest melons with fortune you get more slices, but that might not be the case. I am currently upgrading my farm, so I might actually try that out and come back to you in a few days.
So I tried this out yesterday evening. I harvested wheat, melon, pumpkin and netherwarts, 5 blocks each with hand, axe with fortune II, and sword with loot III. To my utter surprise, there was no difference in harvest results whatsoever, identical! I would have thought that fortune at least had an effect, but apparently for these crops using these tools, that is not the case at all. Playing Bedrock for Windows 10, I should add. I wonder if the kinds of tools make a difference, e.g. using an axe with fortunes II versus a pick axe with fortune II.
