Sohyang is a devout Christian and a gospel singer. This performance is but a small example of her ample collection of phenomenal performances over her long career.
I've always felt that Bridge Over Trouble Water was about her journey through cancer. She strongly believes God save her to sing and he was her bridge through this time.

You picked a video where she is sick. Sohyang is a cancer survivor who contracted hepatitis during her cancer surgery and its given her years of repeated bouts of pneumonia. I highly suggest listening to this song again on Immortal Songs 2 from 2015. Us fans can stear you to the best videos of her.
Now I have some time here is a good starting list for Sohyang, who is little known in the west but in my opinion one of the worlds greatest female vocalists.

Sohyang was ill as I understand it when she did this performance. She did a much more spectacular performance of this song on the Korean show Imortal Songs 2 and killed it. And yes this song means a lot to her. She had cancer which was found when she has having an operation when she was younger and had to have her reprductive parts removed at that time so she can't have children. She also got hepatitis from a blood transfusion at that time. She has battled pneumonia numerous times over the years and several times in one year. She is a Christian singer as well and has several Christian songs on RUclips as well. Her O Holy Night done on Imortal Songs is to me is the best version of that song I have ever heard.She has turned down recoring offers from big name labels because she is not in it for the money and sings at churches, various events, weddings, as as teaching voice, singing at a university in South Korea. In addtion she does perform periodically, has some albums, and has won a number of awards for her music. She does put emotions into her songs right from the heart.

Can I request that you do a reaction to 4th Impact. They are 4 sisters from The Philippines with outstanding harmonies. In 2015 they auditioned for X Factor UK and the video of that audition has more than 191 million views on you tube. Just last month they released 5 ORIGINAL songs...all very different , different genre's all amazing. They also have a cover of this song ( using SoHyangs version ----add amazing harmony to SoHyang song). The sisters are now in USA chasing their dream.
