It depends upon the university. Kunai kunai uni. le ,they allow you to live off-campus from the 1st sem but aruma 1 sem dekhi 1 year samma ni on-campus nai basna parne rule hunxa.
I applied through the help of consultancy. Choosing to apply by self or consultancy is completely your choice but I'd definitely say ki applying to US isn't that difficult and resources and webinars by USEF is of great help.
