Billy was & still the brains of the team, he's smart, intelligent and resourceful, he builds gadgets like wristwatch to communicate Zordan, alpha & his teammates. The rangers are a much more better team because of him. I can picture he & Trini as a couple because she's the only person, only ranger who understands him in a scientific way.
Even after 30 years the first six remain the best of their colour. I also think Tommy was the best evil Ranger, but Trent's clone came pretty close. However, Tommy was the leader in Forever Red and a ranger and mentor during Dino Thunder.
