I have this guitar - it was set-up perfectly and plays like a dream. I made 2 shims for the pick-up (took me all of 15 minutes) and it is one of my favourite guitars to play. Very happy with it.
@@ayeapprove I re-purposed 2 rubber feet from an old amp - cut the angle with a craft knife then trimmed one edge so that the existing screw hole lined up with the dog ears. Almost invisible and works a treat!
Yeah, true - I just like the flatter wilkinson a lot better and it intonates the same way. I'd never use a non adjustable wrap around since I don't just use standard tuning and standard string gauges.
@@ayeapprove is the Wilkinson bridge lower than the original, can it decrease the action slightly and get the strings closer to the pickup and is it less sharp to the hand? There have been some complaints about this with the original bridge...
I'm getting this one now. I'm actually waiting for it to arrive. Thanks so much h for the review, it helped me a lot to takethe decision. Still don't know if I'm gonna change the bridge, but súper hyped about it. Thanks so much from Amsterdam!
I have the DC60 (sg) in the same colour also B stock and it was absolutely perfect and I stripped the fretboard with alcohol and boy its now super stripey and looks perfect for me. I ended up buying the Roswell shim to bring the pickup closer to the strings. Changed the bridge with the musiclily pro bridge. Also swapped out the alpha pots ( tey worked well but I had some cts pots in stock) added a orange drop cap .022uf and its now absolutely perfect and sings in clean tones then cuts your head off with dirt! I had some old gibson knobs and thumb bleeders ( the original knobs wouldn't fit on the larger cts pot shafts) so it looks very vintage now. My wilkinson tuners are actually very stable so I'll just keep them on for now and if I do end up swapping them out I'll just use a set of Guyker vintage locking tuners from aliexpress as they work great and no additional drilling and for €14 you can't go wrong. Fantastic guitars and could I have lived with it stock? Yeah for sure the only thing was the bridge as it was sharp on the corners and uncomfortable to play as I rest on the bridge. Everything else was just because I had stuff in stock and didn't cost me nothing but time. Buy one either the double cut or the SG model you won't be disappointed. I also buy B stock and up to now ive been very happy.
@@ayeapprove I've got them on my telecaster and they are spot on for the money and so much better than the kluson tuners that are standard. And it takes so little time to change strings. U could also buy a roller tune o matic from aliexpress or ebay and put the roller saddles on that bridge, although u may need to file them a bit to fit them. It worked for me using that same bridge and now my cst24 hb holds tuning and bendings so well. Also, I ended up using some hexagonal screws I had around the house, which won't brake when adjusting the height, and some nuts to keep the bridge tight so it doesn't tilt, which is a real problem with this wraparound bridges.
@@ayeapprove yeah the wilkinson bridge is awesome for the price, although in my case it still tilted because of the string tension, that's why I ended up using the nuts to hold it in place
Yeah, I just found them on amazon. Thanks for getting back so quickly. I just ordered the DC Junior. Are you still happy with it or have you passed it on ?
Very honest review. Thank you for being humble. Your playing is great and somehow unique, on the other hand maybe you should consider buing a better mic.
my b-stock had a small dent/chip on the headstock, crack on the jackplate and probably the worst grounding hum i have ever come across. one new pickup and good to go
I remember trying one a few years back, they were nice guitars but I got lucky with a nice deal on a Fender Tele blacktop and never looked back at schecters.
I have no idea what the actual guitar sounds like from this demo, with all that overdrive. Fortunately I have one of these guitars and am very happy with it.
great vid but you need to really sort the sound samples section as that is bad and down to the recording mix etc, nasal thin and harsh a small combo with a mic maybe
B-stock needn't be because of something 'wrong' with the instrument. It might also be returned because of not meeting expectations from the first buyer. They simply might have been to high. Another reason might be the initial enthusiasm got out of sync with the bank account or with the the wife. Or the previous owner made a video with it for free.
I have to disagree. B-Stock at Thomann can mean many things - either a customer didn't like it, there are visual flaws or it's a factory B-stock. I was very lucky with 2 b-stocks and had 1 bad one.

Nice but I always wonder why guitar players need so many guitars, especially multiple budget guitars when they already have high end axes? Out of control consumerism driving climate change will be the death of the planet earth for sure. Come on guitar players! 🎸 😂 😂
Ah, I've talked about this before in one of my videos. I collect guitars (of all price ranges) because they can be bought cheap on the used market and hold value incredibly well in most cases. For me it's an investment and the benefit of finding them aesthetically pleasing!

I like those first two riffs, they sounded like some punk stuff I listen to 👍
Thanks, it's just something that I came up with since the p90 sound so articulate and beg for some nice pop punk riffing haha

Dick Wacker is doing a series on one of these for mod garage on premier guitar. The next episode should be on the wiring.
Can you tell us more about the two guitars in the background?
Oh the strat is actually a harley benton body with a custom LED inlay neck and the Tele is a Zuwei Ash top semi acoustic
Thanks for the vid. How much $$ and link to bstock inventory for HB or is it a sub category on their site? Thank you.
If there's a b stock of the specific model, there will be a link below the price of the regular model! I paid 162 EUR
Where did you get the clips to hold the strings back?
China, but you'll find them any any luthier supply shop!

The p90s are alittle off from the classic p90 sound we all know and love but they are not bad

Yes, returns make a part of the b-stock, some even have stickers saying "Retoure" on them
He tenido una experiencia parecida, no cumplen un mínimo de calidad.
In that price range, it's not worth to buy B stock. Better to buy a new one, easier to change if it comes in bad condition

Those preconceptions... “it says made in Indonesia, it must be good...”
I've had good Chinese ones but there's a reason why some factories are preferred. World music in Korea being one of them.
